Crispy's Favorite Sandwich
Will R.

I wasn't impressed by this location. I couldn't help but notice and feel the building didn't feel necessarily clean. Nothing extreme, but definitely noticeably dingy in some areas. I acknowledge the flavor and ingredients used in both the banh mi and even cha gio were tried and true Viet flavors/ingredients, but the main component...the bread fell flat, literally. Not crispy or even airy at all, it just squished down in itself and was underwhelming. The nuoc mam tasted like nothing honestly - neither sweet or and fish sauce flavor. The service was strange. Wasn't too welcoming when ordering, and when we received our food, it was just dropped off on our table and nothing said at all.

The food was ok there something that I would change as a lot of the summer rolls were falling apart when trying to eat them right when opening the package and the pork vermacli was decent. The place was dark as there was not that many lights on. The staff was friendly when picking up my food I did have to wait a little after getting there but I was 5 min early.

This was delish! The BANH MI itself was crispy. The meat was tender. The pickled carrots & daikon, just YUM!

Listen... this is definitely a Vietnamese restaurant I could eat at every day! The food here is very flavorful and tasty! All our dishes were cooked fresh and prepared once we ordered. My favorite was the grilled chicken fresh roll and cold cut bahn mi. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The young service staff was helpful and friendly and answered my questions about the ingredients and helped with the selection. We sat near the window to get natural light and eat our lunch. The restaurant was clean and beautifully decorated. I'll be back for more real soon.

Affordable but mediocre Vietnamese food Pros were only three dollars to add on extra beef, however, the portion was actually smaller than I imagined it was going to be. Noodles, veggies, and peanut sauce were good. ‍ The fish sauce dressing was really lacking. I was surprised that it was so flavorless, considering that I've had amazing fish sauce based condiments in other Vietnamese inspired establishments. Truly, I threw this away. I ended up making my own dressing with sweet chili to add flavor. this bowl is meant to be eaten on the same day. When I tried to use the leftovers the following day, the noodles were stale and the veggies were wilted. I wouldn't recommend ordering a large bowl with extra portions after this experience. Stick to something you will eat and want in one go! Lesson learned. Total Spend: $17

This is a fantastic location! It's super clean but parking can be limited. I stopped in for a Vietnamese coffee and sandwiches for the family. The coffee was okay, could've been better. It tasted a bit watered down. On the other hand, the sandwiches were amazing! I went with the #1 Crispy Bahn Mi. The fillings were terrific! The bread was perfect and was able to hold everything in! Overall, a good place to meetup with a friend for lunch or coffee.

I am in town for work and figured I'd grab lunch from here because it used to be one of my favorite places... honestly I would have canceled my order had I seen the condition of the restaurant before I had it in my hands. This place is DIRTY. The dining room itself is unkept from the tables down to the floor but the bathroom was alarming, to say the least. There's no way it's been cleaned in at least weeks. The floors are sticky and gross, the benches are dirty, the counter where you order is black and marked up. It's pretty disgusting. And the chicken was soooo dry. What a waste of $18.

I have been going to the South Blvd location since they been open. And I have never have any issues.. Alway would order the food via app either in the way to work or on the way home.. But now they opened in Steele Creek so I can ordered it a lot more often. As usual, I used the app to order my food. This time I opted for the vermicelli bowl. Grilled pork with egg rolls. Comes with fresh lettuce, cut cucumbers, pickled carrots and house sauce, then I alway get my usual large lycee tea. I'm soo glad they have a location closer to the house. The quality of food is still the same as the one of South Blvd. everyone must try it!

I'm obsessed. The location is very low key from the outside but immediately when we walked in everyone was friendly. We tried two banh mi (grilled pork and grilled chicken), French fries, and an iced Vietnamese coffee. They got our order out pretty quickly. Everything was delicious. The perfect balance of grilled meats and fresh veggies plus an amazing sauce. We will be back!

So good as always. Been craving it for years and so happy I did. Food was fast, tasty and portions r worth the price! I got the pork banh mi so I'll come back and try the chicken with a tea

Meatless summer rolls

I used to live near banh mi bros. That was my go to place (mostly because they were the closest but also they have amazing vegan options). But now I need to find a closer banh mi place to south Charlotte. Crispy Banh Mi is a solid contender. They only have one vegetarian option for banh mi and summer rolls but they were good considering other banh mi places might not have any chay (meatless) options. The baguette was nicely crispy as expected but the pickled vegetables weren't as pungent as I like (which I'm sure others may not like so take this with a grain of salt). The seitan was a soft and chewy texture that meshed well with all the flavors of the other dish. This definitely hit the mark. The summer roll was a bit lacking. It was basically just the seitan and some lettuce. No noodles, pickled veg, or basil. Decently sized with what seemed like a hoisin based sauce instead of what looked like nuoc nam (fish sauce) that my friend got with her chicken summer roll. I'd probably skip this next time in favor of another banh mi. The che thai dessert was interesting! It was mostly a coconut based liquid with some fruit jellies (pandan, jackfruit, coconut). The shapes of the jellies were like spaghetti and fat french fries. A little awkward to eat but I could see it being exceptionally refreshing on a hot day. It got better as the flavors melded together. I saved half of it and ate the other half later in the day and that's when the flavors popped.

Very flavorful. The portion size is enormous. The picture is about 5% of the pho and maybe 15 to 20% of the rice dish. The restaurant has an eclectic, mismatched décor that felt more cluttered than charming. Combined with the sticky menus and food scattered across the floor, the space had an overall dirty feel. The pho was served with lemon wedges instead of lime. When I asked for lime, the server looked at me without saying anything and walked away. She eventually returned with lime wedges, so I assume she heard my request. The pho itself was decent, but nothing particularly memorable. Service felt rushed, and the staff seemed too busy to be attentive. It gave the impression that stopping by our table was an inconvenience rather than part of the dining experience. Given the restaurant's strong reputation and glowing reviews, I expected a much better overall experience.

WARNING for potential customers:…read more So, me and my aunt came across this restaurant online seeing that they accommodate for gluten allergy with rice noodles in their pho. We drove to the restaurant and they were closed from 4pm-5pm (we arrived right at 5pm) I'm assuming this was a break for employees seeing as their hours are 10am-9pm. We we parked directly in front of the door watching employees come in for work. One of them had taken the "closed" sign off the door showing that they were now opening. This man in the photo proceeded to light a cigarette inside the restaurant closing and opening the front door to blow the smoke outside. We immediately left, because why would we want to eat or even walk into this place while this man was smoking inside the restaurant. Who would want to step inside this restaurant knowing that someone is smoking a cigarette inside this restaurant. The other employees in the dining room were watching this man smoke without a care. Imagine walking inside and immediately smelling cigarettes. If this man is allowed to smoke a cigarette inside their establishment, what else could they be doing inside that is not within restaurant cleanliness. Do what you'd like with this information but I thought it would be important to share this with others who are wanting to try this place.

Summer rolls, quail, noodle dishes, pho, and of course the beef and broccoli that I am constantly telling people to order. Once again, it delivered. Tender beef, great flavor, huge portion, and everybody at the table immediately understood why I keep talking about it. This is the kind of restaurant that works best when you order a bunch of dishes and let everyone try a little of everything tapas-style. The portions are generous and very shareable. The staff here is also genuinely helpful. They made recommendations for our table, checked in often, and kept everything moving smoothly even with a larger group. Another underrated bonus is the parking. They have their own lot, which in Charlotte honestly deserves appreciation all by itself. Easy access too, especially if you are coming from the freeway or busy parts of town. If you love Vietnamese food, this place is absolutely worth adding to your regular rotation. Great pho, great noodle dishes, friendly service, and consistently delicious food. Life is too short to not eat well. Get out there and eat your way through Charlotte.
