Been dining here for four years. In that time, the food quality has continued to decline. Last night, not a full restaurant, and it took 45 minutes to receive our order. It was an uncomplicated order: half order nachos, two children's dinners, side of beans, and carne asada. When the food hit the table it was lukewarm. Even the chips were off. Usually, they are so light and crispy. I know the two other tables near us had issues because the manager was called... didn't get what was ordered. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Food was good and hostess staff and male servers and bus staff were all extremely cordial, relaxed and very professional. However, the female servers were literally running around like chickens with their heads cut off, very rude and running over guests, including elderly customers without so much as an apology. Witnessed this happening several times throughout the evening. VERY unprofessional female servers. The ambiance of the place looks real nice. The customer service is also really nice. We felt real welcome at this place. They served chips and salsa when we came by. I ordered the Chile relleno and they were nice enough to make it vegetarian for me. I forgot which one my husband got but he really enjoyed his meal as well. Firstly service was awesome. The food however was not. Ordered as an appetizer nachos with cheese and jalepeno. The chips were stale. The cheese looks like it was painted on with a tiny brush. The jalapeños, while good was not plentiful. I for my main course ordered fajitas. It looked good as it sat there and sizzled,but lacked any flavor. Neither the guacamole or the sour cream could save it. Thankfully they left out the salt as well. It felt like that it was a lack of quality ingredients. The stars for this place on Yelp caused me to sit in the car out front for a while to actually read through a little to determine if I would step foot inside as I'm not Big on eating at places that have less than 4 stars UNLESS I read WHY & am willing to take a chance. I did just that here and took a chance. I took away a star immediately because they do not have a guest wifi and my plan was to come in and work while enjoying some lunch. I actually walked out after I was told there was no wifi and decided to head back over to Starbucks to work and once back in the car my stomach started grumbling so I headed back inside and used my phone hotspot temporarily. I read that the shrimp tacos was the best shrimp tacos a Yelper had tried before which prompted me to order just that minus the bacon. I had the black beans and a Mango Sangria-Rita which was super tasty. The server immediately brought out warm tortilla chips and salsa when I was seated. The server was very short and un-attentive but I am thankful for the other table server who came over to check on me and took my food order for me. The shrimp tacos were amazing I was so stuffed leaving out of this place I almost got rolled out :-) There was plugs at every (booth) which is very helpful so thumbs up there. When we first moved here 9 years ago we tried all the Mexican restaurants to find a favorite. Now I remember why this place wasn't it. To start the hostess was slow and really seemed like she didn't want to be there. She was borderline rude or just snippy. The queso was watery and bland. The meal equally bland. The service was so-so. Even the salsa was flavorless. We chose to go here more out of convenience because we had stuff to do right around here. Looking to try a new restaurant after church. Drove by and decided to try this place. I was seated immediately, which was nice since many places have a wait on a Sunday. It was during brunch so the brunch menu was available ( pretty limited) with $3 mimosas- extra dollar if you want proseco. I decided to try the grilled tilapia in a garlic sauce with veggies and rice. The verdict- the vegetables were tender and had a nice seasoning. The rice was cooked perfectly and also had good flavor. The fish was brought out on a cast iron plate, still sizzling. The beans were ok, but could have used a touch more seasoning. The fish had less texture than I am accustomed to. It was a little mushy in places, but the garlic seasoning was flavorful. I ordered a 2nd mimosa with Prosecco and this one was much better. Overall- I would come back. read more

Picked up dinner tonight from Cristinas - ordered a Guacamole Mexicano ($10.25) and a Queso Mexicano ($9.50) and this guacamole is MAYBE 3/4 of a cup worth. I also had to season it when I got home because they didn't even add salt or pepper or anything else to it. Also no jalapeños at all - when asked for extra spicy :) Save your hard earned $$ and DO NOT order this guacamole. However, the loaded Queso is pretty good. read more

Firstly, who doesn't love visually stimulating decor when you walk into a dining space? I do! Christina's may not necessarily seem like fine dining but I truly enjoyed everything from their impossibly thin and crispy chips and salsa (would love a spicier option) to the perfectly portioned sampler plate that is a complete steal at $8 because I enjoyed it twice for leftovers!! So far I've enjoyed dining in and ordering pick up and the quality is great. Premade expensive Mexican food. Guacamole is not fresh tasting, consistency of canned guacamole. Food came out so fast, it was like they don't make to order. Ordered the steak & enchiladas, shrimp quesadilla and taco salad. Shrimp quesadilla was ok at best. Shrimp seemed like cocktail shrimp with cheese. Steak and enchiladas was unremarkable. Not flavorful enough to justify the $16/per plate price tag. Taco salad was just something to eat. We were both starving and even that didn't help. I ended up bagging my steak to go. Maybe I can use it later? I'm Mexican and the Pico de Gallo was not authentic enough (wilted onions served atop wilted lettuce with old tomatoes). Like I said, everything seems premade. $56 dollars for it all. I want my money back. 2 stars because at least it's edible. read more

OK so we've been going to Cristina's 2x's a month for over 1 year. We tried some others in Forney but this was our favorite. Our family really loved it. Read that love-ed. it was definitely our favorite restaurant of Mexican food. It was delicious until about 3 months ago. I don't know if they changed out the buyer manager and portion control manager but these managers are obviously bad at their jobs and I say that because they changed up and bought Ebenezer Scrooge(s) menu for QUALITY and Quantity. Use to be large portions of whatever we ordered and now it's just skimpy on the portions. Food quality with their beef and chicken is just so bad. Thinking back on it I'm now wondering what it was that I actually ate...makes me cringe at the texture and taste. We seriously didn't want to give up on Cristina's so we kept thinking it was a fluke and would get better. Accept it didn't and last night was the last straw. We ordered two separate fajita meals (1 chicken & 1 beef for hubby and myself) 1 chicken tacos meal (for older son) as well as a bean burrito meal no sauce (for another son). It was awful!! Oh gosh that steak meat was literally like I don't even know how to describe it other than to say it tasted like fake meat from a discount market and the chicken tasted completely gamy and was gross. We all were so disappointed. I will say the only part of the meal that was just ok was the rice and beans and those have a different taste from what they originally 9 months back tasted like when we first began eating there. The guacamole recipe is still good but the quantity is so tiny now. Something is definitely up and someone or someone's are dropping the ball and have ruined the quality of beef and chicken on their menus. My in-laws took us out to dinner with the kids and we had a great time! The food was flavorful and fresh, the drinks were delightful and the staff was attentive. It was busy, I think every table was full so there was a little bit of lag time between ordered and getting our food.
