    Philly cheesesteak omelet
    Jennifer R.

I think if you like pancakes, this is the spot. They have over forty different flavors and it is definitely what they are known for. They are massive. I don't really get the love for this place based on the food, but it seems to be a local favorite. The line was out the door. Philly cheesesteak omelet was pretty basic, but tasty enough. The meat in it was very dry. The coffee was truly horrible, although the refills were a nice touch. Service was fast and friendly.

Bacon tomato omelet with homefries and rye toast

Really good food here! Was in the area and stopped by for a brunch. Started with the mimosa and Pomosa. Both really strong, so that was surprising but delicious. We both ordered omelets and shared one Peach Blueberry pancake. Everything was honestly wonderful! The omelet was the best I've had in a long time. The bacon and tomato both stood out in this dish. I wish it had a tiny bit more mozzarella but it was still great . My rye bread left a bit to be desired. The centers were super dark which is fine, but the crust was almost impossible to bite through. Definitely the best homefries I've had at a restaurant. I'm super picky with my potatoes, but they were so well seasoned I didn't need to add anything! Rounding out this meal was that pancake. It came out last and it was huge, fluffy, and sweet. It was the perfect balance of sweet, sour and savory. We didn't use syrup as there was already so much natural sweetness- plus the powdered sugar it didn't need it. Wish this place was closer, between flavors, inexpensive cost (total food cost $27) and the waitress was so sweet- but really great!

I was starving by the time I arrived at Cristy's in Westbrook. This is a typical hole in the wall breakfast spot. They have a large menu of pancakes available on their wall. The waitress was a superwoman! She managed to serve the ENTIRE dining room on her own, and it was FULL! She was so pleasant and was smiling the entire time! This is certainly not a job I could ever do. She asked me what I'd like to drink I told her coffee. She brought me a coffee along with an entire pitcher of refills. Water isn't complimentary, they sell bottles of Poland Spring water. For my breakfast I got an omelette with mushrooms, tomato and mozzarella, it came with potatoes and toast. This was huge, there's probably four eggs in this omelette. This was very tasty. There were plenty of sliced mushrooms and tomatoes. I couldn't have the potatoes or the toast, as it was too much for me. I think it's very odd that they would offer a huge pitcher of coffee, but no water. Overall, I enjoyed my breakfast, it would have been nice if the portion was about half size smaller. There's a bunch of awards Cristy's has received that are all over the walls. I would stop by here again preferably with someone so we could share the food.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great local spot. Warm and welcoming.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Really comfortable atmosphere and fun to see the older local guys sitting at tables discussing "what's going on in the world."[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Just feels like small town America and set back in the 50's.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Huge menu. Known for their pancakes and they have over 40 varieties! Meat option include kielbasa so for a Pennsylvania guy this alone earned 5 stars lol. Food was very good. I had a blueberry and a blueberry/peach pancake. Delicious.

Fantastic food and service. First visit for our family and the food was terrific. Large portions, moderate pricing and the menu is huge! Breakfast served all day. Plenty of room in the restaurant and the staff was so helpful and accommodating.

Great homemade food. The chicken cutlets and fries are really amazing. Service was great. They make nice wraps and serve breakfast all day. Delicious. Don't judge it by the exterior, really good food.

Really cute local neighborhood cafe. Opened for Breakfast and lunch only. They have a large breakfast menu but I didn't get a picture of that one since we ate lunch. I took off one star for not having fountain sodas they come in a bottle so no free refills. My hubby and I shared a cup of their homemade Clam Chowder. It was really great. It wasn't too thin or thick in consistency it had clams of course potatoes and bacon. I usually don't like bacon in my clam chowder but it was fine in this soup it didn't have an overwhelming smoky "bacony" taste. I ordered their Club Sandwich with egg- salad, you can also get turkey or tuna. The sandwich was huge and hard to eat but it was really good. They could have put a but less mayonnaise on it but I just scraped it off. The fries were also tasty and really well seasoned. My hubby got the Cristy's Burger. I have never seen such a huge burger in my life. It's definitely a shareable burger. He really liked it although he could only eat half of it. Their homemade potato salad is a must try. Larger portion and so much flavor.

Cristy's has been all time favorite breakfast place since I was a child. They make their own corned beef hash - yum!

My wife and I have wanted to try The Griswold Inn for many years, and our schedule finally allowed…read moreus to make the trip ahead of a nearby show. Reservations via OpenTable were easy. When we arrived at the hostess station, she verified the reservation and immediately led us to a table in a small room off the main dining area and bar. The entire dining area is old wood -- floor, wall, ceiling -- and the room we were in had narrow floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with hardcover books. I write this to demonstrate that all the decor served to dampen the sound despite nearly all tables being occupied. While you could hear the bustle and conversations around you, you could still have a conversation. Our server greeted us promptly and took a drink order. When he returned with our drinks, we ordered the clam chowder and braised short ribs for my wife and a wedge salad with the dry-rubbed pork chop for me. After entering our order, our server returned with a basket of warm dinner rolls and butter, then minutes later brought out our soup and salad. Both appetizers were terrific, and I think that may be one of the best blue cheese dressings I've had. Water glasses were refilled frequently without being asked and dishes were cleared by other waitstaff. We never wanted for anything, and none of the comings and goings were disruptive. This was a professional and competent team. Our entrees were served shortly after we finished our appetizers, and they were beautifully presented on the plates. My wife loved her short ribs, which she said melted in her mouth. Until this meal, I've yet to find pork chops to surpass the ones I make at home, but this was truly exceptional! While the mango salsa topping the chop was nice, it was completely unnecessary as the chop was well seasoned and juicy. We capped off the meal with desserts, a chocolate mousse pie for my wife, a warm butter caramel cake with berry compote for me. Delicious! We'll be back to this gem of a place!
