Amazing how negative reviews for this scam of a company keep vanishing with regularity. Oh, well...here's mine; catch it while you can because guaranteed it'll be gone within a few days: What a horrible experience. I am still wondering what about this company is either professional or humane. What we have here is a flat out exterminator, dressed up in new-age camouflage, basically. We had some creatures living in our walls and ceilings. We found critter control online and we liked their LINE....humane animal removal, 'we catch and release native species', we are professionals, all of that. So we went with them. They came out and located some holes under our eaves, and determined we had squirrels nesting. They set out 2 traps on our roof to catch them. When I inquired why they needed to be caught,a s opposed to just kicked out, I was told that if they did not catch all of the animals the problem would return. I further queried if they repaired the openings, how could the animals return to entering our house. They didn't have an answer for that one, but my wife overruled me and told me to stop pestering the service kid. For the next 2 months they would occasionally catch a squirrel and haul it off. The traps would also catch blue jays....and, bafflingly, the service kids would haul them off as well. When I enquired as to why they were putting blue jays in the back of their truck, the kids would say 'we are gonna release 'em later'. Anyway...after weeks and weeks of this, they just kept coming, setting traps, catching animals, taking 'em away.....and leaving their bills. I finally had to really insist that this seemed to be taking a very long time.....yet other services seem to resolve the problems quite quickly. They again insisted that in order to do the job 'right', they had to be patient and make sure all animals had been caught. I would have let them keep going except I decided to do a bit of research on my own. Turns out, almost NO city wildlife is considered 'native'. The short of this is...I found out that this company ends up gassing it's catches. I also found out that it is illegal for them to be trapping and removing Jays. They should have been released right there at my house. But they weren't. That was enough for me. I called 'em off, and hired a guy from craigslist to set some non-catch traps (one way doors) which only allow animals to pass out of the house, not back in. The traps cost me about $100. the craigslist guy cost me $75, including doing a nice repair job on the holes. Whatever was in there, stopped being in there. It took all of 8 days. $175. No gassed wildlife. No pillaged bank account. read more

I have to agree with River's review, if it is still here when you read this. I say this because there have been negative reviews printed here on yelp for this company.....which have interestingly vanished regularly. Didn't know Yelp was like that. Sad. But for anyone who happens to catch mine....here's the basic gist: This company is expensive, their 'servicemen' are more or less 20-something hipsters trying to hold whatever job they can, having little or no knowledge in what they do beyond probably a 2-week training session....and despite all of the cute mottos, this is a flat out extermination company. Period. And they use the wrong kind of traps. They claim that trapping is the only option but in fact, the animals need not be trapped at all...just evicted. This can be done yourself by purchasing one-way door apparatus and sonic motion devices which emit a very unfriendly high-pitch tone which drives the animals away but doesn't effect cats or dogs or birds. You can do this yourself for around $70, or hire someone who knows what they are doing. In our case, they spent 2 months trapping and gassing squirrels which they identified as living in out attic, when the problem all along ended up being ....rats. As for critter control....contrary to their infomercial here (when did Yelp begin allowing THAT, BTW ?) their choice of traps determines their excuses for 'having' to kill their captures. Not the other way around. They could be Humane, as in 'for real', if they so chose to be. Interestingly....they (the chain company as a whole) have also been involved in some controversy regarding them trapping and killing feral and pet cats, too. Apparently they have a policy to bring back to their 'facility' whatever ends up in their traps. Google it. But besides all of that, they just plain and simple did a poor job at my house ....failed to remove the offending animals although we paid them for a couple of months worth of service. Absolutely Unacceptable Service - Unprofessional, Uncommunicative, and Predatory Billing Practices If I could give Critter Control zero stars, I would. My experience with this company has been nothing short of a nightmare--a combination of poor service, blatant lack of communication, and unauthorized billing that borders on predatory and is certainly unethical. The initial inspection was rushed and incomplete - checking only 1 indoor room and 1 outside spot. The technician set traps that remained empty, yet no clear plan or next steps were ever provided. Despite hearing continued noises in the walls, Critter Control ignored my repeated emails and phone calls. At one point, traps were placed on my property without my knowledge or consent, which is completely unacceptable. In addition to being charged $900 for incomplete services, Critter Control billed me twice for unauthorized fees totaling $363.02. These charges were not justified, especially since services were performed without my consent. Critter Control failed on every front: inadequate inspections, lack of communication, zero follow-through, and unauthorized billing. What started as a simple request for pest control turned into a frustrating, time-consuming ordeal. I've given Critter Control every opportunity to address my concerns, yet they've ignored my emails and phone calls. It's clear they are more interested in charging your credit card than providing quality service. Do yourself a favor: Avoid Critter Control at all costs. read more

Warning, Warning, Warning. What a disaster. Mike acted so nice and I ended up having to hire an attorney. They hired latinos, no English and the poor guys didn't know what they were doing. They broke lights, my ceiling, didn't finish the job, etc. Don't let them put it insulation, it's a rip off, they didn't even do the west side of the house and didn't put in as much as they should. I had to hire a home inspector to go through of all of it. Tim didn't care to pay my attorney fees, so I need to tell you all, go else where. We had damage in our attic and roof from squirrels. Bill and Matt were extremely professional and very, very kind and friendly. They were always on time and let us know exactly what they were doing. They fixed everything that was damaged and replaced all the vents, sealed everything, cleaned everything, removed insulation and replaced it with new. They worked so hard and had everything done in two days. We cant speak highly enough about these two guys and also all the people we dealt with at Critter Control. read more

Communication with sales rep was not good. We were not made aware of of services that were not part of the project. When we asked to add on the removal our insulation it ended up costing and additional $2200. Then the company was supposed to send a company with Dropbox to pick up our garbage from the removal, and no one showed up. So frustrated with this company and their promises. The rating of the rats was mostly a moderate amount of rats using the traps. I have had this service for several years and have always been pleased with the service.
