I called A&A for help with rodents and they charged over $500 for a cursory inspection that didn't even get to remediation or addressing the root causes of the problem. They provided very cheap, ineffective bait, and when I asked them to come back when I knew there was still activity in the walls of my home, they returned and told me there was no activity. It felt like they were not taking the issue seriously, that they didn't believe my concerns and they made zero plan to follow up. They failed to address the issue at all and offered poor quality service from start to finish. I had to call a different service provider who promptly addressed the issues. They also noted that A&A used bait that is very ineffective. Overall, I couldn't be more displeased with this service. read more

Ask Keke, we had a ninja rat at my apartment! I couldn't thank him enough for getting this rat! I'm sure that it was in my apartment for more than 2 months, and during its stay it got domesticated hella smart and learned my routine not for the life of me could I trap this rat! Keke came out and reassured all my anxiety behind my child and rats! In his first trip he heard the rat! He placed traps, 4 days later after not having took the bait Keke came back and seen him hiding under the dishwasher! Keke was so determined to get the rat, he stayed to catch it!He moved the appliances in my apartment, including the stove where the rat burrowed in! Jorge came out and did a very thorough inspection of our place for rodents - he was honest and gave us suggestions to seal up some very small potential openings. Thankfully everything looked pretty good and he set our expectations appropriately with outdoor rodent activity. This is the third company we contacted for a bid and advice and I have to say that the honesty and straightforward advice was super refreshing. He wasn't pushing to sell me anything! Had noticed some Ants in our house and before it got out of hand we reached out to pest control. Danielle came out, assessed the situation, was professional, personable, and really great vibe about her. Kike, really cool gentleman from Hawaii, came out and did the spraying. Wow, he was extremely efficient, thorough, professional, also really good person to speak with. It is rare to find folks that aren't in it for just money but genuinely want care for what they do and provide. Pricing is very competitive and turn time was quick. I would also add that this is a privately owned business. No big corporation or chain here. I would HIGHLY recommend this company. We had a "dead animal " smell in our house for 3 months. Alec was here for rodent maintenance, but was unable to locate anything decaying near the smell. We endured the smell in the kitchen for 2 more months. He came back yesterday for rodent maintenance in the am, but was unable to smell anything out of the ordinary. He offered to come back at the end of the day and smell again when the house was warm. He came back, and eventually found the culprits. A jar of horseradish had fallen out of the refrigerator and rolled under the stove with the lid ajar. It had most likely fallen out 3 months ago! And, he could smell propane. We had a leak in the propane line to the stove. We scrubbed the floor and fixed the leak, and THE SMELL IS GONE! We would never have figured it out without his help. Alec is our hero! I called at 8:30 am when they opened and had a representative at my home at 10:00. I had a mouse in my kitchen. Russell did an excellent job and he was sympathetic to my hatred of mice. He checked every nook and cranny he could find checking for mouse turds and possible entry points. He pulled out the refrigerator, stove, looked in every cupboard. I was very impressed with the work Russell did. He plugged two holes that might have been entry points, put down several sticky pads and several bait traps. He walked around the exterior of my home checking things out. I will know in the next few days if he was successful or not. I called A&A in the process of getting quotes for services from several pest control companies in Portland. After two quotes from (unnamed) highly rated businesses here on Yelp, both costing several hundred dollars for simple rodent trapping and consultation, I had about tossed in the towel. When I called A&A, they told me that, due to a cancellation, they could come by same-day at no charge for a walk through of my house and give a consult of the problem. Again, where other businesses were charging between $80-$200 just for a consultation, adding additional fees for trapping, A&A offered this as a complimentary service. The technician arrived promptly at our scheduled time, and was friendly and courteous, and quite knowledgeable. They have a simple, $100 flat fee for service, and upon completion, offer the choice of self-maintenance (removing any caught animals myself) or for $50, to come back and check, clear, and reset the traps for me. This is a service that is unique, to my limited knowledge, to A&A. The other providers I spoke with return as part of the higher service cost, but charge additional fees upon removal. In short, I cannot recommend A&A enough. read more

I live out of the Portland Metro Area and needed a exterminator ASAP. I purchased a bed frame from a consignment store and then left out of town for a few days. Well the bed frame was sadly infested with bed bugs (FYI yes bed bugs LOVE wood frames so always inspect before you buy) and I saw one on my bed. I was mortified and hysterical when I found this. An exterminator down in Salem recommended this company. They talked me down from hysteria and clawing my skin off and gave me instructions on how to keep my furniture and family safe until they could come. Although they didn't come out and say it I knew they could sense my urgency and that I was not in a position to wait since it was a very recent infestation. They quickly came out within 48 hours and worked with my special situation and budget. They also provided me with a lot of information so I know what to look for in the future if I ever want to buy used furniture again. I've been using this family owned business for 26+ years for all kinds of insects, rodents and critters that their business deals with. Having a natural yard they respected my desires and used "chemicals" that kept the spiders etc out of the house and in the yard. Recommend them all the time. Worst service ever! Got threatened to go to court?! Is this how you run a business? They said the did tge pesticides. On the same day came home to still see Ants still running around... I just had a conversation with the owner of this business that was completely unprofessional and rude. Last year I had my home sprayed three times for carpenter ants, carpenter bees and spiders. Danielle the technician was very professional and I did notice an improvement after the three sessions. This year I get a bill in the mail for $66 for a treatment that had been done without my prior consent or knowledge. I was out of the country and did not get the voicemail that she left the day prior to the visit. I would not have had the service rendered because the ants are no longer a problem. They did not treat the interior for the spiders nor the siding for the bees because I was not home to discuss this with the technician. The owner first said that it was a maintenance contract but within the same conversation admitted that I didn't sign a contract and that the service was done in error. She said she would wave the service call fee but as I was asking for a receipt showing the charge had been cleared she interrupted me and said that in the future I should just call another pest control service and then she hung up on me.This kind of customer service is reprehensible.
