When you have a squirrel in your attic, who you gonna call? No, not the Ghostbusters. Pest Solutions, actually. Our unfortunate circumstances required a company that dealt with our specific pest. Not every "pest" is a pest that your average pest company deals with. But thanks to the Yelping of my fellow Yelpers, I found a great solution with Pest Solutions. From initial contact to the wrap-up, Pest Solutions displayed sticktoitiveness and professionalism that all companies should strive for. Our issue wasn't cut and dry and required patience, which I was informed of from the get-go. Our engagement lasted over a month, and in the end yielded the results we had hoped for. Our attic is now squirrel-free, and Pest Solution's exclusion work aims to keep it that way for the long-term. I caught a skunk on accident while trying to get rid of my possum problem. I called this company after the first one didn't return my call. It was a busy day for them and they tried to squeeze me in. Unfortunately, their tech went home sick, so they gave me a call to let me know the bad news. They gave me some numbers for their competition and they said they'd come out the next morning if the others couldn't help me. Price was the same here as their competition. I got some advice on how to handle the situation on my own, but, no way, no how am I taking on a skunk, so we had a good laugh. While they didn't help me in the end, the service that I did experience from them makes it easy for me to recommend them to others and use them myself if the need arises in the future. read more

I emailed Pest Solutions last week for a suspected case of bed bugs, which has been making me miserable. Josiah came out today and just went above and beyond for me. They tout their ability to solve the unsolvable pest problems. But for the not very low low price of $95, I got to see the "inspector" traipse about for 20 minutes, shrug his shoulders and say "Dunno, this is a tough one." And then toddle off. They were prompt. They were polite. They were friendly. No qualms there. From my point of view, as long as your problem is so simple that an amateur can solve it, you'll get service. But if you need a professional to remove pests, I'd recommend you go elsewhere. UPDATE: and Yes, I'm ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN I am reviewing the correct company. We called Pest Solutions LLC for a bad smell in our home. We had a suspicion that there was something dead in the crawl space. They came out and determined that it was not in the crawl space but coming from the attic. We were told the charge was $275.00 on the phone for them to come and remove a dead animal. They found a nest and area he thought the squirrel might have come in, but no animal remains. They knocked $75 off and said they would come back Monday. They said they would be able to find it and remove it for $575.00. Overwhelmed by the smell and wanting it removed (before Christmas) we said ok. They came back, located were it was coming from exactly but were unable to reach it to remove it. The plugged a whole that they think it may have come in-not the original place. He also said that he thought it might be a roof rat but wasn't sure. They replaced minimal insulation were he found droppings. He then said we can't reach it and you will have to open up the wall to retrieve it and they are not contractors. He then talked about having them come back and service the property every 2 months for $110.00. He then said "Since we can't retrieve it your amount due is $400.00. We paid it. $600.00 and not dead body retrieved and only 1 hour of work. They went in the attack, walked through the house with insulation and dropping insulation along the way. They did not use shoe covers and left the attic door open. We have pets and I spent 2 hours mopping and vacuuming. I used bleach in the water to sanitize the floors. I do not recommend them. I might feel different had they not charged us so much money. The technician was Jason Newell. read more

We had an awful spider problem so we called pest solutions due to their great reviews. We would have this God awful satanic monsters all over our walls.. On our floors.. Yuck!! With 2 small babies we had to do something and these guys use safe chemicals. Within a few days spiders majorly tapered off and where gone for 6 months. Starting to see them again so am calling pest solutions again today! read more

OK, this is quite the story and one of those times where you truly appreciate a business and its employees. A couple of months ago my wife, son and I were waking up with bites on our arms, legs and back. We thought our son brought home bed bugs. We contacted a pest company and they came out to evaluate. The guy did a thorough check but said he could not find anything. My wife casually mentioned that we just got rid of a bird nest from the inside of our house (inside the stove flue). We had the bird nest for about 9 months and they had chicks in April so we didn't want to get rid of it until all the chicks were gone in June. He said that he heard about bird mites but did not know enough about them and suggested we find a company that had experience. I went online and found Pest Solutions. Mark, who is the exterminator, came out and when he saw where the nest was and looked at our bites, confirmed we had bird mites. For the next 2 months we had Mark come out and fog our home 7 times. At the time Mark said he was also working on another home that had 12 bird nests. Mark and Eric (who is the owner) were extremely patient with us and were with us every step of the way. We literally felt like we were experiencing the plague but Mark and Eric were 100% supportive of us and saw us through. Except for 2 rooms that had a lot of clutter (which the fogging cannot get to all the nooks and crannies -- our study and our garage) our home is now mite free. We have the study and garage closed off and the mites will die once their life cycle is over (anywhere from 6-9 months). Pest Solutions was truly the only pest company that could have helped us. They were 100% responsive and supportive. I highly, highly recommend their services for any pest control need. read more

Eric responded quickly and resolved our dead rodent issue immediately. In addition, he inspected the outside of our house and the crawl space. He tightened a couple of foundation vents and placed a few bait stations. As we have a greyhound with an insatiable need to sniff everything, we don't have to worry about the green material this company uses. I had a swarm of yellow jackets in a room of my house. I called Pest Solutions and they had someone there in less than an hour. The tech was excellent and walked me through the cause of the swarm and how he would get rid of it. I felt totally at ease and they told me they will come back in a week to spray again for free if the first round didn't cover it. After the tech was done, I paid with credit card via Square on his tablet, and instantly received a receipt via email. The price was affordable, the service was friendly... Dissapointing! I had used this company several years ago for live trapping skunks. Was happy with the service so when we had the problem again, I hired them. A skunk was trapped right away and then the problems started. The techician left a new trap which was sprung three nights in a row with no capture. Another tech came out after our phone call and stated it was the wrong trap, too small, good for squirrels. He took this trap away and said he would bring a new one the next day. He didn't show up, just called and said he was too busy to get there but would be out the next day. Didn't bother to show up or call. We cancelled the service and so far they are refusing to issue a refund for the three weeks of service I paid for but they didn't provide. I never thought pest control could be so much fun! Mark shows up with energy, enthusiasm, an incredibly helpful nature, and a sense of humor to do the work that I expected would be done by a begrudging curmudgeon! No offense to anyone else in this business... Mark's the only guy I've met who spends his days killing creepy crawlies, but seriously! He is tons of fun! He's also professional and respectful of your space, and clearly an expert at his job. It's like having an old friend over who loves helping you with things, and happens to know how to get rid of unwelcome house guests! Eric, the owner/president, is also really nice. I was lucky to talk to him when I called their office to schedule, and he was friendly, prompt, and personable. He had Mark at my house 20 minutes later. How does it get any better? ! For us, the problem was fleas. We love our cats, and tried everything to get rid of those nasty little guys... but in the end, I called the professionals. I'm so glad I did. We had Pest Solutions de-flea the house we had just moved out of, and soon, de-flea the house we moved into (having brought the buggers with us). Both times, it was hard-earned money well spent. I had a nasty mole problem in my lawn. Pest Solutions set bait and continued to follow until sure that the moles were gone. Very conscientious, knowledgable, professional and reliable. Highly recommend. Update: After the above review, the mole(s) returned. I called the company and they came out again promptly. They trapped one mole but another showed-up. It took weeks but they persisted and I now believe that I am mole free. I have been very impressed with how very conscientious and professional they have been. Great service company! read more

I highly recommend this company! To my horror, I had rats in my laundry closet. They sent out a technician and he patiently answered all my questions and set 2 traps and 2 bait boxes outside. Next day, found at 6pm a large rat with only back legs in trap and still alive. I was very stressed and called the company, got the President, Eric, and he was at my house within 20 minutes. He not only took care of the rat but also spent time cleaning area under washer that looked like nesting materials and added another trap. They very caring and understand how upsetting this situation is. I am so impressed with this company. read more

In early March of 2014, we were getting over run with ants in our kitchen. No matter how clean, the ants were always present. We engaged Pest Solutions LLC, as they marketed themselves as a family business, with a high standard for customer service and "green" solutions. Reviews that we read reinforced that view. Unfortunately, we did not get that experience, and want to share our opinions. We set up an appointment with Pest Solutions for March 17th. The technician came in, spent two minutes looking at the three locations where ants were present, and then applied 2 inches of a gel product in these three locations. This took approximately 5 minutes in total. The technician stated that because it was raining, he could not do the exterior spray. We agreed he would come back and do the exterior when it was not raining. (it rained .02 inches that day, as recorded by the Mt Scott weather station , which is about 500 yards from our house) The next day, Pest Solutions emailed the invoice for $295. Through an email exchange with Lisa, it was agreed that I would not be asked to pay for the service until it was complete. On March 25th, a technician came to spray the exterior. He was at our home about 15 mins. On March 25th, it rained .22 inches, 10x the rain of March 17th. Draw your own conclusions. Between March 18th/25th and April 26th, the ants never stopped coming, and in fact got worse. At this point, it is worthy to note that Eric and Pest Solutions will point out that we chould have called for a re-service. Eric advised (in later emails) that their service will more often than not require multiple treatments to work. During this time, we weren't happy with the service and results, we didn't want to have to sign up for multiple (never ending?) treatments, AND most importantly, we had not yet seen the invoice, so we didn't call (it seemed reasonable that if they weren't charging us, then we didn't need to ask them to come back). On April 28th, having spent the weekend battling to keep the ants out of the kitchen, we went to Home Depot and bought (3) TerroAnt Killer ll Liquid Baits at $6.00 each, and a Hot Shot MaxAttrax Ant Bait (4-Count) at $2.00 - for a total of $20. We placed these in the same three locations plus one additional location. Over the next few days, the ants came to these traps in force (much more than to the gel). After a few days, the ants stopped coming to the traps, and we have not seen one ant inside the home since. The $295 treatment did not work (for us), but the $20 treatment worked like a charm. This review could end here, with one customer's view that the service didn't equal the value, but it took a sideways turn when I received an invoice about May 29th with a request to be paid $295. Through email, I told Eric that the service didn't work, that we didn't get $295 in value from what they did, and that he should zero out the bill. Through a very testy exchange of emails, Eric was clear, he wanted paid no matter what I thought of the service or the results, getting paid was the only thing he cared about. So I came to a place where I said would pay the $295 bill (and I have), not because it worked, but because I never called for a re-treatment - and I would post a negative review. And that's where it got even worse. Eric's response (in writing) was to say that posting a negative review would "defame" him. The implication was that he would/could sue me for libel and/or slander. I challenged him on this (his threat), gave him a chance to correct himself, but was surprised when he did not disagree with my interpretation of his email that he was threatening me with a lawsuit if I post a negative review. Eric says I'm wrong on the facts. I asked him which facts I was wrong about and received nothing except "the service worked". I guess Eric is taking credit for what we did on our own with the products we bought at Home Depot? Email is a bad medium for an argument, so I asked him to call me instead. He never called. In Eric's mind, the service worked as there was always going to be this need for retreatments, and since he would keep coming, the service "worked" and had value, I just chose not to let it work by having him come out again (and again and again). Eric was never clear how many re-treatments his "service" would require, if they were all included in the $295, or if he would be using the re-treatments as" upselling" opportunities. (like an annual pest-control contract) What is amazing to me - Eric can get into a really bad email discussion with a customer, where his product did not work and his service was at best mediocre, then threaten to sue if I say something publicly - and then ask to come into my home to spray poison where we prep and eat food. I would never let this company back into my home. read more

Mark from Pest Solutions got rid of the rats! Nice, efficient, totally understood our needs (we have pets to think about), and that we were in over our heads by the time we decided to call (we felt like wimps not being able to handle a rat or two). He set up a plan, sealed holes, and then came back to see if he could find the carcass that was starting to stink. If we ever have a pest problem again we will embrace our wimpiness and absolutely call them first and fast. Plus it was slightly less than the quoted rate, which is always a nice surprise. read more

We had a major yellow jacket problem with several nests in the roof or our house and shed. It was our first experience with a uncontrollable pest problem. We were skeptical of whether they would be able to get rid of all the yellow jacket nests. I think it took Mark, service manager, less than an hour to apply the spray. The yellow jackets were immediately gone.We have not seen one since and couldn't be happier. I even waited to write this review to make sure they would stay away for good. Best customer service you can imagine for the worst pest you can imagine: BED BUGS! Needless to say I was a little unnerved to discover this condition but Robert was calm, thorough, and very expert in his advice. We worked together to get it quickly resolved and get life back to normal asap! Pest Solutions service includes follow up visits should the issue resurface. Robert is super responsive and event went to the house to deal with things when I wasn't able to be there myself. He also provided baits/monitors for early detection should this ever be an issue again. I received a good education in this process. Alright, I hate posting 1 star reviews but after the experience I had I'm going to have to. We booked Pest Solutions to get rid of a squirrel problem, they booked us over a week out which I decided I could deal with that. But, then the DAY OF not even 2 hours before ours appointment window I got a call from Amanda/Mandy telling us that they needed to reschedule us to another time or another day. I needed to discuss this with my husband since we both had work later. I then called back with some questions about rescheduling and NO ONE could answer them because Mandy was in a meeting that I was told should take 15 minutes, called back in 15 and still no answers. Fast forward to two hours later and I still have no answers, nothing scheduled, and I need to go to work. It's the Friday before Labor Day so getting another company is so complicated but I've already waited over a week. Happy to say, I found another company who had the owner of their company come out to help us (thanks Squish Pest Control). I didn't receive a call back from Pest Solutions until 2.5 hours later and it wasn't even Mandy, it was from Lexie and even she couldn't answer my standard questions (though she was very nice and did her best). The lack of communication, professionalism, and courtesy that this company showed was downright disgusting. As frustrated and upset as I was yesterday, I'm extremely glad we didn't have them do any work for us. If this is how they treat a new customer & first impressions, I'm terrified to see how they treat customers that they have rapport & a little more leeway with. read more

If you value your time do not call Pest Solutions! They gave me a 2 hr time frame for when the technician would arrive. 1 hr 40 min into the time frame they called and said they needed to reschedule until later in the day. They gave me another 2 hr time frame . After waiting for 2 hrs I called and they said someone could be there in 30-40 min. I told them to forget it. I would start over with a company I could rely on. Each time they had a different excuse for the delay and they didn't call to keep me posted until well into the time they should have been there. The second time they never called, I had to call them. I wasted a large part of my day waiting and never accomplished my goal of have my apartment treated for pests! read more

NOT RECOMMENDED " Company charges nearly a half grand after it spends less than one hour unsuccessfully looking for a squirrel. Pest Solutions LLC of Portland, Oregon says the $400 charge included nearly 3 hours in drive time. " A joke? No. This company came out, didn't see any squirrels, and put up two small screens. Turns out the tenant of my property said they left AT LEAST one large, obvious, visible entry way. In spite of the faulty work and spending less than 1 hour, they tried to justify their bill because "their office is far away." If they don't have a person in the area, then don't take the job. I tried TWICE to arrive at a fair price for the under 1 hours, faulty work. Suggested $200. They said no. Mutual trust is important in business dealings. Shame on this company. read more

I must say I had quite a different experience with this firm. They came unprepared and ill-equipped to install some simple screens to keep the birds out of the roof vents. I had to loan them the powered screw driver, provide the screens and the screws. It took them 3 days and 3 tries to figure out what length ladder they needed. Should have been a 2-hour job. When the technician pulled all the old nesting out of the vents, he just spewed it down across the patio. Never offered to clean it up so my wife had to. This group was poorly organized, unprofessional and way too-high priced for the meager job they did. $350 for 12 screens? I would never recommend them. read more

The trap was set too far from the hole under the side of the house. The animal was easily getting in and out without going into the trap.

I can't say enough about this company. Hands down the best money I've spent in a long time. We lived with the horrid smell of death, for a week because we couldn't find the dead critter. In less than 30 minutes a dead rat was located and taken. The holes where it got in we're plugged and a plan to return should we find the rat had friends was made before he left. My life is now complete! I plan to have them come our quarterly, to help with an ant infestation, I've fought with for two seasons. Micah from Peak was so courteous, I wish every professional you hire for home stuff was this good. We had a flea infestation so bad in the new house we just bought, and it was almost unlivable. For three weeks I bombed every few days, sprayed gross chemicals everywhere and slept in strong deet, and I still was covered in bites. Finally, so fed up at around midnight, I texted their number, hoping to receive a call in the morning. I was surprised to be called back by Micah immediately. He quickly and clearly explained why what I was doing wasn't achieving the results I wanted and patiently explained exactly the process of what his team would do. We booked for the next day, and his team was on time, and totally pleasant. They did their thing, and later that night we slept pretty bite free! After 15 days they came again, free of charge, and did a follow up spray to knock out any leftovers, which were very few. Finally we are completely pest free. If I had called them weeks earlier I would have saved myself a ton of itching and suffering, as well as about 650 dollars spent on foggers that do just about nothing. Their price is super reasonable, they work fast and clean, and are willing to educate you about the process so you know what's happening in your home. Highly recommend them! read more

Robert went above and beyond to help me with a strange smell issue I had in a spare room. While the smell turned out not to be a dead rat as I initially thought it might be, Robert sealed the crawlspace openings to prevent invaders. One cover necessitated pea gravel, so Robert gave me instructions for how much to get and where to get it, and came back to unload it from the car for me and finish up the crawlspace cover. He gave me awesome odor absorbers that have really helped alleviate the weird smell issue. Robert is very friendly and helpful and I will absolutely call him back if I run into any other pest issues in the future. read more

Had an ant problem in my house; tried most readily available treatments but they were only minimally effective. Decided to give Pest Solutions a call. They explained the treatment method and I scheduled an appointment for the next day. The employee (Kelly, I think) showed up a few minutes early and explained what he was going to do and how it would work. He applied the gel on key areas in the kitchen and also sprayed around the exterior perimeter of the house. It took a week or so for it to work (he told me it would), but 3 weeks later and no ants anywhere! Hopefully I won't have anymore ant problems but I know who I'll call if I do. read more
