It is easy to see that this is a community yet they are exceptionally friendly to all. There is ample street parking and inside you can order and leave sit in the Micah room where there are groupings of table and a small play area. The Fair Trade shop is exceptional. Jewelry, clothing, food, soaps, gardening items, toys and so much more! On Fridays fresh donuts are delivered. There are a number of community activities that occur here, from book clubs to lectures. My favorite drink is the "Drink of the Month" with proceeds from that drink going to a charity of the baristas' choice. read more

I stoped by the coffee house for lunch before I visited an event, Annual Mardi Gras Crawfish Boil, in New Town at St. Charles on Sunday, February 11th, 2018. There were only a few customers, so I could take a seat easily. The event began from 3:00 pm, so I ordered Grilled Cheese + White Chicken Chili soup ($7.95), coffee ($2.00 : 16oz, refill for $1.00), and 2 Paul's doughnuts ($1.00 each). All of them were delicious, but the doughnuts were bigger than I have expected, so I took it home. There were some tables, chairs, and a few couches there, and they had slow music. The couch was very comfortable, and the music made me relax. I could spent good time for rest there. I will go to the coffee house again when I will visit the New Town. read more

I really enjoyed finding this gem for lunch on a recent weekday when I was in New Town. I think this place was the only restaurant that was open for a snack/meal at the time in the area, but I'm glad I wound up here. It felt like I was on a mini-vacation for a day in New Town! The staff were all so friendly and supportive, as there were kids in my group. They spoke to the kids and played with them, and really went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed for lunch. The atmosphere is really relaxed. Similar to going to a Starbucks, we were mostly surrounded by others working on their laptops. There's also a little kids' room under the stairwell which has books and toys for use. They have several couches and high top tables for your convenience. I was able to sit for a couple of hours and get work done. Prices were fair and reasonable and the service was great. The Bridge is a New Town staple. It's like Cheers-- "everybody knows your name." Baristas are friendly, there are various groups and events during the week, and it's a good place to get work done. I like the breakfast sandwiches and almond milk lattes. They are connected to the inclusive Lutheran church and have worship on Sunday mornings, but don't push their Christianity on you. Plus they have charitable giving via tips and other food drives. They also sell fair trade coffee and other goods to help people in developing countries and struggling communities. A good organization, and a good place to hang out. New Town would not be the same without The Bridge! read more

Decided to venture out to the local coffee house instead of making the drive to Starbucks. The staff is friendly and attentive. The clerk asked me if I wanted to find a seat while she prepared my Americano because I had my walker in hand. After preparing it she brought it out to me which was very much appreciated. The establishment was clean and comfy. My drink was hot and flavorful and made forget about the other place I was going (Starwho)? Lots of seating and outlets for your mobile devices as well. Smack in the middle of New Town where walking and biking to get anywhere is the norm. They are a fair trade non-profit organization that also opens their building for worship on Sunday mornings. What a great discovery! Worth the 2 miles off I 70. Love to find local independent coffee places as we travel and this place is on the top of our list of 'travel finds'.
