I don't drink but I like this brewery. I walked here after a movie at the music box because my friends who do drink recommended this place. I was so hungry that I ordered their cheeseburger with fries. It was delicious. It comes on a tasty brioche bun. I get the herb mustard mayo on the side to dip my fries in and add lettuce and tomato to the burger. It's super fresh and well cooked. The pretzel is also a must-order. I did not leave a review my first visit because I assumed the food was so good because I was so hungry. Well, I went back today and the burger was just as delicious. So now I must tell the masses. Only drawback to this place is that it has limited paid street parking. It's better if you don't drink and drive but for a sober person like me, parking would be nice. It also gets crazy crowded on the weekend and I don't feel like the optimize seating at the bar or on the dining floor which makes the wait much longer. Our server named Peter was rude and unprofessional. There were only 3 other customers there so we sat down at the outdoor patio not realizing we needed to check in with the host. Peter finally came out and gave us so much attitude for not checking in with the host. He threw the menus on our table and scolded us in a shocking manner. We immediately got up and left. My fiance and I go to the Music Box Theatre a lot, so we are slowly eating at all the restaurants up, down and around Southport. We hadn't been here, so we stopped in before a film one night this week. We opted to sit on the patio even though the hostess warned us that it might rain (it didn't) because they had a live DJ spinning tracks and it was quite loud inside. Our server was quick with drink orders (my fiance got the Best Day Brewing non alcoholic Hazy IPA), and we also got a soft pretzel for appetizer, though the accompanying sauce was a little too strident for me. He enjoyed his burger, and my chopped salad with green goddess dressing was tasty though a bit soggy. Our server got the check swiftly when we had to head out; always a good thing. We decided to try out Corridor brewing since a friend mentioned this is his favorite place to visit. We were a large party and could easily walk in and get a table. We started off with their beer flight. Loved the different beers available, especially the crisp hazy ipa. The food was on another level! The umami fries were out of this world. The shishito pepper pizza was sooooo good, it was sweet and spicy and the dough was the perfect texture too. I really appreciate good pizza dough, and this was soft and slightly crunchy, perfect for me. We also ordered the 'Sun will come out' pizza. The balsamic reduction on that was so great, it tasted like a bruschetta in a pizza form. Such a great find! The ambience was clean and the service was great too. Wow! You can bring your kids to this brewery, we did. They have good beer, coming from someone who's not much of a beer drinker. I had a mini flight. It was refreshing. Food was good. We had a margarita pizza and some appetizers to share better the 3 of us. It was plenty of food. Ambiance was nice. We sat outside so I'm not sure how it is inside. It's right in Southport so there's a lot of people watching. There is also street parking just be cautious of someone not paying attention to your bicycle and getting it smashed. Let's give 'em pumpkin to talk about was on the sweeter side and gave a burst of honey flavor. Bartender (manager?) yelled at us and everyone in the bar that he was locking the doors in 5 minutes if we didn't leave. It was rude and really awkward for us and other patrons. We still had half-full beer glasses and were still chewing our last bites of food. Hospitality industry folks would have been horrified at how this was done. We weren't somehow overstaying our welcome - we had been in the establishment only 45 mins. Our server, who was helpful herself, was apologetic but said they were closing and no blame on her. We had arrived for dinner a little after 8p. The patio and bar space both were 80% arrived was full when we arrived. We ordered beer and then eventually burgers when she came back. The smash burger is pretty delicious here. I got it with the bacon (which is probably overkill but sometimes you need it--you know?). At 8.45p the lights went up real bright. We were still eating dinner. Many patrons still in progress. Our server told us last call--AS she delivered us beers that we had ordered. But that was ok with us--we didn't plan to order additional drinks. At 8.56p, the yelling happened. Proper restaurants that "close at 9p" don't take new tables after a certain point, but they still serve their current customers, while the staff begins the process of shutting down service and cleaning. There's always a server on the floor still taking care of folks during close. This is typical of standard hospitality industry practice, and it makes sense. Not sure where this team learned. I said to the bartender after he yelled--we've still got over half-full drinks here, and his retort (!) was "how long have had that drink?" implying that we weren't drinking fast enough? The fact that we got a attitude and blame on us for being there revealed the culture pretty clearly. I get that staff should get home at a resonable time. But I've worked in 4 restaurants, and this was not super late on a Tuesday summer night. Beer wasn't top in the city, but it was delicious enough, and an otherwise good experience ruined by an impatient manager telling us to chug beers and leave. When we first moved to Chicago, Corridor instantly became one of our favorite places. For a couple of years, they routinely had some of the best beer, food, and hangs of any brewery in Chicagoland. A few years ago, they went through several new brewers (one went to Maplewood, the next went to More, and so on) and slowly but surely the innovation and quality of the beers went steeply downhill. What once was a near-weekly trip for us turned into more of a "Well, we're right here, let's see what they've got" sort of thing. I think it's best, at this point, to view Corridor less as a brewery, and more as a neighborhood pub. The food remains pretty good, though even that isn't quite up to the standards I remember when I used to be a regular. The beer is average at best - their "flagship" SqueezeIt and Cosmic Juicebox offerings are nothing even close to what they tasted like even three years ago, let alone four or five. Stick to the classics and you should be fine - the lagers are quite nice and pair well with the menu. The thing that remains a draw is the vibe. Nolan is still there behind the bar, as well as one or two other folks from back in the day, which means you're getting good, friendly service and a killer soundtrack for your evening. The place always has a good, chill vibe that still makes it an attraction if you want a good hang. It's still a solid spot to pop into if you're in the Southport area, there's nowhere else really like it around there. But, I must admit I really miss the days when Corridor was able to mentioned at or near the top of Chicago's craft beer scene. read more

I will start this review by prefacing we had a completely fine experience and the food was decent, BUT do be aware it is not the same quality and food I fell in love with when I originally tried Corridor years ago. The burgers are definitely different. They used to be more of a "smash burger" style with a sesame seed bun (they still feature the bun on the website but we did not receive one). The burger was fine, but just a large brioche bun and decent patty and fixings. We also ordered the cauliflower tots which we used to like because you couldn't tell with the sizes which ones were cauliflower and which were cheese curds. This isn't the case now. Huge, we're talking like fist size pieces of cauliflower on a plate with very tiny cheese curds.... Also the proportion of cauliflower to cheese curd is very heavy on the cauliflower. Overall, it was fine food but I think they lost me as a customer. The food used to be great and it would be a destination for us to come back to eat here after moving to the burbs but not anymore. Sad to say but this place will probably be closed within the next 3 years if this is the quality and route they are going with their menu. read more

Good place, yet another brewery. It's conveniently located close to the Southport L Station, making it easy to get to without a car. Corridor is still a somewhat new brewery in an increasingly hip area. For those who like Dry Hop, they should like this because this is their sister location. The beers and food are kind of different so you have reason to go to both of these. After hearing about how it's related to Dry Hop, I had an interest in checking out the offerings and comparing. It was easy to get to by the L and hopping off. The place isn't that big so it can feel crowded, but we happened to get bar seats. Beers are on the higher end. It's about $8 a pint. Best of these is the Wizard Fight. This is an American IPA. It's a medium level at 6% ABV. We got the Warm Soft Pretzel. At $9 it's kind of too much, but of course beer and pretzels together are good. The other food offerings are meaty. Basically the sister locations of breweries have good things about each. It seems this area is a little quieter but still is fun. This is also easy to get to by getting off at Southport. read more

Came after a movie at music box on a Saturday for dinner. On a nice day, they have a big garage door at the front that opens up and plenty of patio seating. We got seated near the front and had a nice breeze coming through. I got a beer to start - The wizard fight IPA. The design alone had me sold on this one, i love the art work on all the cans they have. It's a pretty fruity IPA, with a bitter after taste. It was good, i'd like to try others next time i come. I'd highly recommend the beer flight if you can, as this is probably the best way to experience the wide amount of brews they offer. I was driving so i didn't want to get too much. For food, i got the Holy Shishito That's Corny pizza and my girlfriend got the burger. I love how they use fresh, local farmers produce and it really shows in the quality of the food. The pizza was phenomenal, as it has a brooklyn styled house made crust, creamy goat cheese mixed with the hot honey, and a nice contrast of sweet corn with the peppers. For one person it could be a lot if you get beer too. You could probably share an app and pizza for two. My girlfriends burger was well seasoned, as the meat was so flavorful. The herb mustard mayo was a fabulous addition too. I think the burger was a bit well but we should've requested medium. We had leftovers from how much food it all was. Everything was very tasty, and the atmosphere was that of a brewpub. They seemed to be a bit understaffed and service was slow. I do appreciate their accommodation to our allergens though. Really impressed with this place! Small menu made it super easy to choose what we wanted to get and I would recommend the pizza. Two of us split a pizza and fries which was a little more food than we needed, but we still ate it all. We got the Holy Shishito That's Corny pizza for $16. This had corn, shishito peppers, goat cheese and hot honey. The crust was delicious. The peppers were cut up in chunks on top of the pizza and that really gave the bite an extra pop of flavor. Most importantly, the brews most of the negative reviews mention aren't even on the menu anymore. Sounds like they went through a rough time about 6 months to a year ago, but as someone who just moved to Chicago a week ago and has been here twice already, I think it's safe to say they have recovered. The bartender is friendly and knowledgeable, the patrons are kind and will strike up a conversation with you, the beer is ALL good (my favorite is the Shark Meets Hipster) and based off the two food items I have ordered, the kitchen knows what they're doing and does it quickly! The ambience is not fully "brewery" but more restaurant-meets-brewery. But the bartender plays music from a large record selection, which adds a really cool hipster vibe. Great little neighborhood brewery! Decent sized patio (for being right on Southport) with a large retractable front window so even when you're dining inside you still get that open air feel. The inside is really inviting with exposed brick, high beam ceilings, and cozy booths. We started with the cauliflower and curds which is buffalo fried and delicious dipped in ranch. These were so yummy and the perfect starter! For lunch, I went with the roasted turkey sandwich. This was good! The toasted sourdough gave it good flavor and crunch. The sandwich came with chips which were pretty good, but I do wish I switched them out for fries because....fries. My mom went with the market salad. Super fresh and a lot of flavor. Loved! Our server was also the bartender and he did a wonderful job at tending to both. I would have tried the a cider but unfortunately they didn't have any at the time of my visit. I've tried corridor dine in and take out a couple times now, and I love their unique takes on classic bar food!! The burger is pretty great - It isn't complicated, but the mustard herb mayo gives it an edge! The pizzas are also super fun. I typically always spring for a brussel sprout pizza when available, but I didn't love this one because I felt it was very very heavy on the bacon. However, the leek pizza was pretty incredible. I'd order it again many times over!! I love how Corridor feels like an artsy small brewery in a big city!! Great vibes and good but small menu. Great beer selection, the person I was with wanted to try them all but it was like 11 am. The Cauliflower and Curds was SO GOOD. My partner actually hates cheese, so we got it thinking he could eat the cauli and I'd eat the cheese, but it was surprisingly difficult to tell them apart. Even after eating some, I wasn't sure if it was a curd or a cauliflower. So basically it's an excellent way to sneak in veggies!! My only complaint is that, even though it is a brewery and I knew that going in, the drink options for non-beer drinkers were awful. Not even the option for a bottled cider from the back of a fridge under the bar. Your options are overpriced wine or one of the 3 cocktails on the menu. Luckily the server was able to make me a G&T, but I didn't want to drink cocktails at the same rate my partner was drinking beer, so it really shortened our trip and time spent here. read more
