Cross Mountain looked like a nice, upscale, chill vibe and it was! All we had was a bottle of wine at a table so my review isn't extensive. But, we enjoyed Cross Mountain very much. One of the girl's from behind the bar took such great care of us! I wish I knew her name, but she was so sweet and engaging and so happy to take some pictures for us. This was a great tasting experience right in town! I've been to a lot, this was one of the most fun, they let you take your time and enjoy. For $25 you get 5 tastings and a "snack" - the options were a lunchable or a wood fired pizza...how is this even a choice? The pizza is to share with 1 other person but very big and the perfect amount of food to soak up the wine. The wines. All from Italy and just amazing. There are many whites and reds, sweet, dry, bubbly. The sommelier was lots of fun, knows a ton about the wines and seemingly loves what he does! We had a huge group of 14 ladies and they made accomodations for us. My favorite wines were pretty pricey but there was a range of price points available. read more

Cross Mountain imports all of their wine from small wineries / vinters in Italy. We tried a number of their offerings and found that they really have a nose for finding quality, delicious, and unique wines, not carried by any other stores that I have been to. This used to be a great place to taste wine during the pre-Covid era. Unfortunately, it's a complete rip off now. Majority of the listed wines are relabeled products and bottles that you can get at Costco/H‑E‑B/Central Market for 1/3 of the price. Ex: Marco Bonfante Mascato D' Asti is not the same as the original from "Italy" as promoted from the original bottle. I can understand the budget cuts from troubling times, but when you can't even update the tasting menu with what actual product you're serving is straight up false advertisement. They will give you a whole scoop about what part of Italy and region it's from and how it's made. They should be honest about their sells and products no matter what! We found two seats at the bar , greeted promptly by an employee. The flights were explained and we chose the mixed group . Found they were enjoyable , we didn't feel rushed . Walked in for a glass of rosè. Lady behind the counter immediately pushed the rosè on tap on me. I took a sip, it was not good. Flat, lacking depth. I asked for a rosè that was non-effervescent and was told that all their rosè wines are sparkling. I said okay, I see you have prosecco, just let me have a glass of that. She said, "I thought you didn't like sparkling wines. Prosecco is a sparkling wine." This was announced loud enough so everyone at the bar could hear. I said, "I'm well aware of what prosecco is, I've been drinking it for years. I don't like sparkling rosè." And what I did not add was: Especially sparkling rosè that is inferior and comes out of a keg because it obviously didn't qualify to be bottled. I'm a frequent traveler to Italy & France. I enjoy wine, and while don't consider myself an expert, I do know what I like and what I don't like. Also, instead of pushing lousy wine from a tap on customers when they walk in, try handing them a wine list. She eventually did hand me the wine list after I got my prosecco. Then she tried to be nice because she'd been rude. And on top of all that, $15 per glass! Some of what I saw on that list you could pick up at Total Wine for a lot less money. Had the most lovely afternoon in their taste room. I believe Paige was the name of our wine connoisseur and she was very attentive. We had our 4month old with us and decided to sit in the back of the room away from the door/bar and she made sure to come by frequently to make sure we were doing okay. The place is super family friendly which its sometimes hard to find in Fredericksburg, the bathroom even had a changing table for our little one! I drove out to Fredricksberg with a friend to check out this winery! It is a boutique style winery--small cute and cozy! For a winery only place in town (no vineyard) this is a solid stop for anyone who loves Italian wine from all over Italy. The rare, the common, the unique, they have it all and know it well. Really cool bar area up front with shop stuff to buy. Seated about 15 or so. The backroom has tables for about 30 more. The wine menu listed every wine they have and they cross off those they are out of so you know what's available before you order. They do flights of 5, by the glass, wine to go, and bottles. Not since I lived in Italy did I have the 5 wines I picked out on my visit. The bar staff are also way fun people let me tell you. Great place to stop and wine taste right in downtown. I have had the most horrible service with this place. I am a traveling healthcare worker who had signed up for their wine club. They continue to charge me for wine they send to Boston even though I have not lived there in a year. I changed the address on line and over the phone but they still send it there. I even had it sent back saying I no longer live there which they did not reimburse me for. I have called and emailed them several time but they refused to contact me back. I even flew home and went to the tasting room and they said it would be canceled but I received another invoice for Boston. read more

Cross Mountain wines are fully produced and bottled in Italy to the owner's specs and imported here for sale. None of the wines are made from Texas grapes. I tasted a series of reds, which were all of top quality. As we relaxed with our second glass of wine, people began coming in and ordering wines by the glass. They all clearly knew each other well. I asked our hosts if these were local shop keepers coming in after closing for the day. We looked forward to our visit at Andreucci Wines. We are big fans of Italian wines and weren't disappointed. We had they're Brunello, Super Tuscan and Costavecchia (great Chianti). The wait staff is very knowledgeable. The owner lived in Italy and has extensive knowledge of Italian wines. If you're a fan of Italian wines or have never tried them then you need to stop here for a wine tasting. I highly recommend Andreucci Wines. The ownership has changed and it's now called Cross Mountain Vineyards. They have a nice selection of Italian wines. Today we tried a 2014 Vignalsole Toscana Innocenti. It was excellent. I've been to Fredericksburg many times to do wine tours and tastings, and this may possibly be my new favorite! All of their wines are Italian, which means that their grapes are grown mountain-side. This gives the wines a different flavor than most of the other wines you can find in Fredericksburg, so it's a nice change from the other vineyards. The tastings are around $25, and you get to try 5! The staff are all very fun and engaging, and they also have great pizza and charcuterie boards to go along with your tastings. I would recommend the Amarone (dry red) and the Fior D'arancio (sweet sparkling). We will definitely be back for more wine soon! read more
