Grounds are serene, historical and gorgeous. My photographer was like a kid in a candy store when he saw all the picturesque sites! You will LOVE your photos! From our first tour of the place with Maria, we felt like family! She and the entire staff are so welcoming and warm. Even though they are a meticulously crafted, well oiled, well maintained machine, we never felt like "just a number." Our assigned wedding day planner was Kasia and it was absolutely meant to be. It turns out she is Polish and speaks fluently, which put my in laws at ease since they are also Polish! We were able to FaceTime with her prior to the wedding at a super convenient (late night) time for us and iron out all the details of our day. She was so responsive and genuinely excited for us! Whether via text, email or phone she always got back to us right away no matter how big or small the question. The day of the wedding was FLAWLESS. A couple snags had happened behind the scenes (regarding late arrival guests etc) but I was blissfully unaware of any of it thanks to the professionalism of Kasia and the whole staff! She was right by my side the entire day and night - even to the point of putting a band aid on my toe when my shoes gave me a blister! She is absolutely no nonsense and get things DONE. Back to the venue - we got married in late June and it was pretty hot that day. I was concerned that the Conservatory wasn't air conditioned but the fans they have going and the trees that shade the building kept it quite comfortable! We did get a little sweaty in the Meeting Hall during the reception although it is air conditioned, but maybe our incessant dancing had something to do with that. :-) We chose to get married in the United Methodist Church which is right there on the grounds although it is a separate entity and not part of the Waterloo package. It was SO beautiful, however it was NOT air conditioned and was uncomfortably hot. Nobody seemed to mind but be aware of that. Waterloo has several locations to hold the ceremony so you don't have to use the church. The exclusive catering company they use, Jeffrey A Miller, is absolutely incredible. Every dish is not just farm to table, but most of the ingredients are farmed right on Waterloo property! The food was so delicious, even our pickiest guests had nothing but compliments about it! The bartenders and staff are wonderful. They actually look like they are enjoying their jobs and WANT to be there, unlike many other cookie cutter venues that seem to hire the most miserable people they can find. We were transported from place to place in a golf cart, but be aware that unless your guests are disabled they will have to do a little walking. The terrain is uneven and there are multiple types of ground from rocks to dirt to patio surfaces etc -- I love the look of it but it could be challenging for some people so keep that in mind. There is a cute little bridal suite/cottage in between the two main buildings that has a great bathroom in it and is air conditioned. Kasia made sure my new husband and I had a plate full of every d'oeuvre's waiting for us there after the ceremony and we were able to take a few minutes to ourselves to regroup. Did I mention the cake was the best I've ever had? We just went with the basic, bottom of the line included cake and it was insane, everyone raved about it! Lastly, you MUST spring for the after party - it is outdoors with a bonfire, s'mores, and freshly made stone fired pizza! It was AMAZING, and such a great memory for all of my guests. They loved it and the quality of the pizza is exceptional. Go to the tasting beforehand, it is an extremely close replica of how your wedding will be. In my opinion, the food and service at my wedding was actually BETTER than the tasting -- and I don't think that's the case for most venues. My guests commented on the extreme diversity of the cocktail hour, no one went hungry or thirsty! Waterloo is gorgeous. If you're looking for a one stop shop where "everything is included" and you can basically let them take care of all the details, this is it. Classic, rustic elegance and so many little personal touches I can't even name them all. I only had to hire a band, florist and photographer. Waterloo took care of everything else, the whole day was pure magic! Thank you Waterloo!

He apologized for my…read moreexperience and took the position that "unfortunately their Regular Security Guard had called out sick...and well some parties get out of hand...but we are top rated with Holiday Inn...Sorry no can't comp you a free night, besides we're fully booked". Way to drop the ball--i originally gave 2 stars for the Sales Manager who took ownership & immediately refunded my first two nights stay and delivered a hand written apology note. I'm currently staying at this Holiday Inn while my father is in hospice care, and although the property itself is new, clean, and nicely updated with decent amenities, my experience has been extremely disappointing. This hotel caters to large wedding parties, many of whom treat the building as a second party venue rather than a hotel. Despite being assigned to the "quiet floor" and being warned at check-in about potential noise, my first night included what felt like a full-blown frat party in the hallway. After a sleepless night, I suggested the hotel consider simple courtesy signage--similar to what some bars use--to remind guests to respect others as they return to their rooms. This is a reasonable, basic step, and it shouldn't fall on guests to propose it. An even more concerning issue was the front desk service. When I asked for matches to light a candle to say a prayer for my father, I fully expected a polite safety-related decline. Instead, the employee said, "100% no problem--promise you will burn this place to the ground." Whether meant as a joke or not, it was wildly inappropriate, unprofessional, and deeply unsettling given the circumstances. When I asked another staff member the following evening if I should expect another night like the first, the response was simply, "That's how people are these days." No reassurance, no ownership, and no sense of hospitality. Overall, the lack of guest control, poor handling of disruptive events, coupled with shockingly unprofessional staff interactions have made an already difficult time even harder. I hope management addresses these issues, because the property has potential--but right now, the guest experience falls far short of acceptable.

Mini omelets, pancakes, oatmeal, cereal, sausage, yogurt and fruit. They do a lot of wedding parties here and the 4 nights I stayed there was always a party going on with a lot of drunk guests. The hotel quieted them down pretty quickly after the front desk was called but still a bit annoying.

Four floors and the location was amid a convention center. The rooms were excellent. Staff professional. All the other trappings of a Residence Inn on point. No hot tub in the pool area which was disappointing - but the heated pool (uncommon) was a nice touch. I'll absolutely be back when in the area for work. Couple of notes that are likely cost cutting measures by corporate: 1) No paper towels in the kitchenette section of the room. Kind of annoying. 2.) I know it's been happening over time, but the elimination of face/body lotion from the rooms is something I keep forgetting about. Full service Marriott properties and JWs have it. But now it seems Residence Inns have joined Courtyards and Fairfield properties in this way. I'm sure over the millions of properties these measures add up to real dollars. But it seems the nickel and diming could be made up in other ways. But, like I said, I'm sure there is a global .xls sheet somewhere that could change my mind.
