A morning of errands turned into a small pocket of calm, so I stopped in for a little me time and treated myself to an absolutely perfect cortado, the kind that arrives in a proper cup with the right balance of richness and warmth that makes you slow down whether you meant to or not. They have wifi here and I had my laptop with me, so I powered on and checked in on work for a bit which mostly meant sipping coffee, watching people come and go, and sending just enough emails to look like I was being productive while enjoying the quiet rhythm of the place. Parking was tighter than usual today because some construction had blocked off the street spaces and the adjacent lot was completely full, so I ended up across the street in a municipal lot which worked out fine. Pineville almost always has parking somewhere if you're willing to shift over a block or two, and today was no exception even with the congestion. Cute spot. Love that the inside matches more of the building vibe not just a generic coffee spot with some silly signs about coffee everywhere. I met there for a work meeting. I had the hot chocolate and a croissant. Both very tasty. The people I met with both had coffees and said they were great. Parking is super easy just park in the lot right beside it. So you don't have to worry about snagging a limited street spot. I look forward to my next visit. read more

The decor is modern relaxed but all of the plants are dying they seem to take better care of their coffee beans though. The coffee was good. I ordered a mocha and my guest ordered a vanilla latte, both of which were enjoyed. We sat down to enjoy our bagel sandwiches at a table that was as stable as jello. Thankfully we managed the balancing act and consumed our food. I got the lox which was tasty but very room temp. I had hoped it would at least be toasted or warmed as it is a bagel sandwich. But overall, good food that did the job. It seems like a good place to set up shop for working as well. We absolutely loved this coffee shop in Pineville! We arrived shortly after they opened on a rainy sleepy Sunday morning. We tried 2 of their breakfast sandwiches and a blueberry muffin. I'm not sure if they bake the muffins in house but I told my husband, this was the best blueberry muffin I've had in a long time. The whole thing was so moist and delicious. My everything bagel with bacon, egg and cheese was delicious as well. We ended up staying so long, we ordered 2 drinks. The seasonal coffee drink was delicious with cold foam on top, and the peach tea was light and refreshing. Downtown Pineville is cute and we were able to see the train drive by! Found this cute little cafe, love the interior! They have nice modern looking furniture and a bunch of small tables perfect for people who need to get work done on their laptop. The staff were nice and friendly and helped answer any questions I had about their menu. My husband and I ordered the Sunshine Morning, avocado toast, Americano and their specialty drip coffee. The avocado toast was good but I personally thought there was a bit too much balsamic vinaigrette other than that it was good. The specialty coffee however was kind of sour tasting and had a hint of tea flavor, I didn't really like it so I wouldn't recommend. One other downside is if you're sitting near the big windows, you'll see a lot of dead bugs, so I hope they get around to cleaning it as it was really unappealing. She did speak to a coworker but barely a word to me in greeting or taking my order. Not necessarily bad, but a poor vibe in an experience I usually enjoy. Here, I ordered a hot chai tea latte with macadamia milk. While the macadamia milk adds a unique twist, I don't think it's the primary reason for my rating. The chai itself leans pretty sweet and has a very mild spice profile. There's a slight hint of licorice, likely from the macadamia milk, which gives it a somewhat seasonal vibe. Came here on a Saturday morning around 10am to get some coffee with my family. The place is super cute and quite spacious with lots of seating inside. When we walked in there was only maybe two people ahead of us in line. The menu had quite a few options and I loved all the different syrup choices for drinks. We placed our order fairly quickly and stood at a nearby table to wait. The line after us quickly became quite long and what we didn't realize was all the customers sitting when we walked in were all still waiting for their drinks! Knocked a star off for that as we waited a LONG time for our orders unfortunately. They also didn't take most of our names so you had to make sure you really paid attention when they called out orders. Despite the long wait, my order of a lavender vanilla breve latte was quite delicious! I also grabbed a pumpkin chai cookie and it was so soft and moist with a perfect amount of sugar on top for a touch of crunchy texture. So good! The rest of my party enjoyed their drinks although I'm not sure a few of them loved the Vietnamese coffee. Overall cute place! I have been to other Waterbean locations and loved my experience and coffee there so was expecting the same here. The location of this is right on the corner with a parking lot across the street which was very convenient. There were outside tables too which is perfect on a beautiful day. The staff here was a bit disappointing and not very friendly or welcoming compared to the other location I go to in Metropolitan. I ordered a cappuccino that was very watery. Overall, my experience here fell below expectations. However, the downtown area itself is charming with a lot to offer. read more

Drinks were hit and miss. I got an iced matcha -- it was pretty bland and could have used several more scoops, it was also not incorporated very well with a lot of floating tea clumps. (I didn't say anything, so I'm not sure about their ability to remake the drink. #millenialanxiety). My partner enjoyed their drip coffee. And the macarons were delicious! For a small corner cafe, there is a lot of seating with a variety of options from counter high top, long table high top, and 2-4 person round tables. Chairs were velvet padded and very comfortable! However, it's very echoey with the tall ceilings and openness, and the baristas were socializing very loudly with each other over the music and other patrons. It was hard to focus on my own work through all of the noise, even with headphones. The entrance is totally uninviting as there's a bar near and a couple people vomited in front of Waterbean apparently on Saturday night and their urn was full of empty plastic beer cups. I guess the staff / supervisor didn't think a cleanup was needed Sunday morning. the coffee and the muffins were excellent. The decor is unattractive and the room echoes. It was really nice to have so much room to move around and not be on top of everyone. The girl at the front counter was super sweet and answered all of my questions. I ended up ordering the Paradise Iced Latte and this was definitely different. It was pleasant but I know it's not for everyone. My only complaint would be that the establishment was extremely quiet. There was no music or anything being played in the background which made sitting inside a bit awkward because you can almost hear people breathing. I think they've gotten comfortable being the only coffee spot in the downtown. The baseboards/ledges don't look like they're cleaned regularly which doesn't lend comfort for the facilities in general, but especially where and how the food is being prepared, there are multiple flies inside that can be resolved easily. I did quietly ask if someone could wipe down the window ledge and I was given the death stare for suggesting it. I've been in many times in the last few months and it's like the staff forgot how to greet people, there's little to no acknowledgement when there is a line waiting, a simple "hello" would work, I haven't seen someone smile in a long time. The staff could use some consistency in food/drink prep-they ask if it's to-go and you say "no" and it still comes in to-go containers. Sometimes I get 2 pieces of bread, sometimes I get 1 cut in half, sometimes I get crispy bacon and sometimes they only microwave it slightly (ew), sometimes I get a nice tasting vanilla syrup, sometimes I get a 1/4in pool at the bottom of my drink. There is a difference between being a young and relaxed establishment and just being passive to the people paying for your goods because your location is convenient. It's a beautiful space, and as someone previously in food service, I would love to see the energy match the velvet chairs that everyone loves, that's the only consistent thing to note. read more

Young girl told us only available in a 16oz so you get 14oz of coffee in the cup. Well I believe she forgot the other 5oz in both coffees. What is going on? Anywho, I asked the staff what was a commonly ordered drink since this was my first time. She recommended the French toast latte and was advised it wasn't overly sweet (I got it with oat milk). As I was on a stakeout for the potential love of my life, I was bummed that they didn't ask me if I wanted a mug instead of a to-go cup (I found out later that was an option). I also ordered a pistachio macaron. Advice: wait until the macaron gets room temp to consume lol. Overall, the coffee was delicious, but still on the sweeter side, the macaron was delightful, and the meet cute didn't happen. I docked a star for the consistency in asking for my cup choice. Had a great experience on a Friday AM around 9am. It got crowded around 10am but there was plenty of seating, some tables near outlets, and fast wifi for working. My iced salted caramel latte was delicious-- and they use Oatly as their oat milk brand. There is public parking right next door with 4 rows of parking spaces. Waterbean has my heart!! This coffee shop is perfect. Seating was plentiful with both indoor and outdoor. It was not crowded, either with people or furniture. Parking couldn't be better, and convenience is great--just off the highway and in a faux small town downtown area. Their glassware really elevates their drinks, which is fun. There were two baristas, both friendly, helpful, and knew the menu well. Their menu was all inclusive without being overwhelming. They also serve food, and have a good pastry selection. Their macarons are perfect. Haven was super helpful and recommended I do half sweetness on my drink when I let her know I don't like my lattes too sweet. I have lived in Pineville for 16 years and never have I walked to Main Street but today I did. I love Waterbean Coffee so I was ecstatic that they were coming to Pineville to occupy an oldie but goodie location. What I'm going to love is the opportunity to go there anytime of the day because of later hours. The decor is chic and modern and you get free wifi so it makes for the perfect spot to go if you "work from home". The view of Downtown Pineville is always cool with all the restaurants and bars that have popped up. One thing I hope is that they will have more than two Baristas because it was pretty busy this morning so things were somewhat behind but it was worth the wait. I was hungry for lunch, so I ordered a build your own sandwich with a croissant, egg, cheese and bacon with the signature Waterbean sauce.
