I brush twice a day and floss EVERY night…read more The hygienist praise me for how well my mouth looked and told me to keep up the great work then Dr. Stone came in with a list of work that needed to be done. Two crowns multiple filling new/reduce older one from when I was younger I started treatment immediately as I was horrified that my mouth had rotting teeth in it. After the second filling and my permanent crown being placed I was having severe pain and sensitivity when eating or drinking even using my mouth wash shot a pain through my face. I notified Dr. Stone and he told me a lot of work was done it's probably sensitive give it about a week. Three weeks later he finally gets me in as the pain had not gotten better and redid the filling and put me back into a temporary the margins on the crown were off allowing food and drink to touch my shaved down tooth. After he fixed the filling I haven't had any more pain the crown on the other hand I had several more appointments for finally got my third permanent in April and I've still having problems I bite my cheek and food just stuck in it. I explained to him I wanted to get a second opinion on the crown since I was still having issues to which he agreed to refund the cost of it so I would have to double pay. While waiting for the second opinion I scheduled for two more teeth to be done on a Monday at 7am. I had my records sent to the other dentist to review the crown and when Sunday before my 7am appointment rolled around I realized I never received a confirmation for my appointment. I messaged Dr. Stone and he informed me that because I had my records sent to a different dentist they removed me as a patient and canceled all my future appointments. I was never notified of this nor did I receive the cancelation notice when they removed my appointment. I called to get put back on the schedule since I made it clear I was just getting a second opinion on my crown. Dr. Stone then told me he would need to have a consult with me before scheduling any further appointments to make sure we were on the same page. I agreed and they scheduled me three weeks out. I email them requesting an earlier appointment and asked that if he wanting a meeting to release me as his patient to just let me know so I can figure out the next steps. They called and offered me an earlier appointment never mentioning his releasing me as a patient. Well today I go in for our consultation to make sure we are on the same page and he tells me because of the issues I've had with his work it really bothers him because he's very type A and he doesn't feel comfortable treating me anymore. I still had 3 other appointments to complete my care plan and now I no longer have a dentist. I am being penalized because he isn't happy with his own work. I am extremely disappointed as I was never disrespectful during the entire process even though it was extremely frustrating to not have the work done right the first time. The last time talked to Dr.Stone I expressed that I felt he was getting tired of dealing with me because of all the problems that have come up in my treatment and he responded "I'm here from 7-4 everyday whether it's you in my chair or someone else I'm here either way so that doesn't matter." Apparently that was a lie because my next appointment was canceled and I was pulled along for two weeks just to be told I need to find a new dentist.

Honestly, this level of work would not have been affordable for me anywhere else. My teeth have been breaking for about the past 18 years, so unfortunately I've had dental work done at almost every dentist in Burleson and Crowley: Burleson Modern Dentistry, Burleson Smiles, Renfro Family Dental, Monarch Dental, Good Faith Dentistry (which was my favorite for a couple of years), Family Smiles of Burleson, Alsbury Dental, and two in Crowley that are no longer around whose names I can't remember. Out of all of them, none have come close to matching Affordable Dentist on price. That said, Burleson Smiles, Good Faith, and Affordable Dentist all had the best staff--but Affordable still comes out on top overall. This time I was treated by Dr. Maia with assistant Laura, and both were outstanding. Cassidy at the front desk also deserves special recognition. She clearly handles much more than typical receptionist duties and consistently goes above and beyond for patients. There are only two drawbacks worth mentioning: Phone service. No matter what number I call, I never seem to reach the Crowley office directly. It usually routes to an answering service that sends my call to the wrong location. The building. The facility itself isn't in the best shape. The dental equipment appears modern and well-maintained--possibly even state-of-the-art--but the building's appearance might give some people pause. Personally, it's not something I worry about. When you take cost, staff, and equipment into account--and did I mention cost?--Affordable Dentist is my clear choice. And for context, I do not have dental insurance. Everything I've had done there has been paid out of pocket.

Over the weekend, the pain became severe and radiated into my neck and ear. I called the office and left a voicemail, but no one returned my call, even though the office was open on Monday. I also had a scheduled post‑op appointment for Monday, which was confirmed by both the appointment card and multiple text reminders. When I arrived, I was told I did not have an appointment. Instead of helping me, the staff -- including the office manager -- treated me as if I was mistaken and made me feel dismissed and unimportant. The office manager was rude, unresponsive, and refused to listen. She quickly blamed the previous office manager, who was fired for fraud, rather than taking responsibility or addressing my concerns. I was in pain and seeking help, yet I was met with unprofessionalism and a complete lack of concern for my well‑being. Because of the poor communication, failure to return calls, mishandling of my appointment, and the disrespectful treatment I received, I no longer trust this dental office. I intend to file a report with the Texas Dental Board.

So I'm not sure why the sign in sheet is there. While I was waiting for what was supposed to be my first appointment, I saw an interaction between the receptionist and an elderly man. She was acting irritated by him. He needed a tooth fixed that came off his dentures. She told him about all the extras they would have to do instead of just fixing the tooth. While talking he accidentally dropped the tooth on her lower counter. Where ever it landed, she acted annoyed and disgusted. She pushed something close to him, so he could dig around and get the tooth out. He had to stand on his toes to reach down and fuss with something to dig his tooth out. He also said that they had put in the wrong code for the dentures, and now his account is in collections. She did not look at him much at all during this encounter. After he left, I asked to pay some on his bill to help him out. She told me she would take care of him. I could tell she most likely would not. After hearing how they messed up his account, and how unhelpful and uncaring they are to their patients, I canceled my appointment and left. When a patient comes in they should be treated with kindness and compassion. Look at them when talking to them, and resolve the problem or get someone who will.

I had to return a week later for a replacement crown and was sensitive to cold and hot things ever since. Yesterday one of the crowns just popped off. I went to another dentist for obvious reasons. They told me that the crowns were never charged to my insurance. I am finding out that the dentist said it was for cosmetic reasons that I was given crowns. I was naive and not going through a good time when I agreed to this. I went to Burleson Dental off Wilshire and It was the best experience! The dentist was confused why I needed 4 crowns when I had great roots. Also it is confirmed the company just wanted their $12,000 payout. I am still trying to pay off this over $3000 bill that I had to pay. I am now convinced that Aspen Dental is the Great Clips of dentistry. Beware!
