I recently sent my Omega Speedy into C&C after they sent the best offer. A week later they send my final offer a few hundred short of their original offer. After wasting emails and calls I finally receive a call back from someone as I wanted to know why their offer is less than originally reported and I was told the warranty card didn't have a "stamp" from the boutique I purchased it at, although I also sent in my boutique receipt. In my opinion, this is just what companies like this do to short change you after you've wasted your time mailing your items into them. They know at this point they have the upper hand. This isn't my first time selling a watch to them but it is my last. I would highly recommend checking with Watch Box or DavidSW as they don't play these games. read more

Brief background. I've done quite a few transactions with C&C, both buying and selling. Total value of watches I've bought and sold to them is probably at least $30k. Maybe not much in the world of "luxury watches", but point being I am a repeat customer that's done decent business with them in the past. After this transaction I will detail below, no more. I am not going to do business with them and I cannot recommend anyone else does either. I sent in a watch that I wanted to sell to C&C. I got an initial quote, and after sending it in, they sent me a final offer. The final offer was $300 lower than the initial offer because they had to "regulate it due to low amplitude". Ok, let's put aside the fact that the watch was only a couple of months old in near-new condition and running just fine when I sent it in. Most competent watchmakers only charge $100 at most to regulate a watch. And C&C wanted to cut the offer by $300?! Ok, whatever, I still wanted to sell the watch and get it over with, so I agreed. But this is not why I'm writing this negative review. The following timeline is why: October 7th: They send me the final offer around 12pm EST. I accept almost immediately, receive confirmation. I select the EXPEDITED payment option, which they charge $25 for. October 12th: I send them an email asking when I can expect payment to be sent. They reply that checks are usually mailed out M,W, and F except when it's a holiday, with tracking info emailed the next day. Ok, so I will give them October 10th as a holiday, so most rational people would expect the check to be sent out that day, since it's a Wednesday, right? October 14th: I didn't receive the tracking info I was expecting, so I follow up with an email. No response. October 17th: I call them at the number provided on their website. After waiting on hold for about 30 minutes, I get kicked to voicemail. What the heck? I leave a message asking about my payment. I follow up with another email. Keep in mind that at this point a Wednesday AND a Friday have gone by, which according to them are the days payment should be sent. I ask for them to waive the $25, as at this point it's been 10 calendar days and the payment is not exactly expedited. No response to either my email or VM. October 18th: I finally get a canned email with tracking info for my payment. October 19th: Payment received. Ok. So that's 12 calendar days, and 7 business days (counting the holiday) for me to get my "expedited" payment which they charge me $25 for. But what is worse than the delay is that they basically stopped responding to me after that initial response. Their attitude is "we told you our payment schedule, now shut up and wait for it". No apologies or explanation for the delay. And this is how they treat a return customer that's done business with them and was planning to do business with them in the future. It's just mind boggling customer service can be so bad. The entire point of doing business with C&C was that they are a "large" company so I felt they would be more trustworthy with their practices and have better CS. I was wrong about that. This was a fairly minor issue in the grand scheme of things, although one could argue they are being awfully cavalier with 1000s of dollars. But the fact that I couldn't get anyone to respond to me for days via email OR phone was downright disturbing. Imagine if this was a more serious issue like a lost package or warranty issue and they showed that level of responsiveness. Yea, no good. Too much competition in the watch world for them to be acting like this. And seems like they don't really care, considering all these other negative reviews I'm seeing here. read more

When I first inquired about my watch, a member from C&C immediately called me and got my information regarding the watch. They also were consistent with emailing me all of the information I needed to know to sell my watch. At first I sent a photo of the watch itself, and unfortunately did not have any of the papers or the box, but that was ok. Then after sending my watch in to the company, they refurbished/polished up my watch and put it up for sale on their site. Purchased a 2000 Rolex Explorer II Polar last month and couldn't be happier. This is my first high-end watch, so ordering one online made me a bit nervous, but Crown and Caliber more than lived up to my expectations. The watch arrived in excellent condition (the pictures didn't do this watch justice) and functions exactly as it should. After purchasing the watch, I realized I timed the delivery window wrong and had to call to make an address change. Very disappointed in how the company provides an initial offer only to reduce it by thousands of dollars after it is sent in for assessment. This is especially disturbing when the message you receive after accepting their offer it could vary by $500. In my case I sent them two watches and the final offer was $4000 less. No issues with buying process. Bought a W series polar explorer 16570 December of 2018. Wore in rotation until earlier this month when I contacted them to sell/trade the watch because I was interested in another watch they had for sale. I was told they wouldn't accept the Rolex because it needed service. Winding was sticky and crown feels loose. so in 18mo of not even daily wear it needs service? Doesn't sound like it was properly looked at in the first place. Mind you it already had a service crystal and lume missing from the minute hand. read more

They sold me a faulty watch. it was listed as fully functional and with no damage. I sent back to them for repair. Their watchmaker was not able to fix it. I got back the watch with the same issue. I had to sed it to the manufacturer for the repair. The watch had the stem crown bent. That means sloppy winding, sloppy hours adjustment, no water tight. I let them know what was wrong with the watch and ask for an explanation. The answer was that I should have send the watch back to them for repair... repeating the circle. When selling/consigning my watch with C&C, The process from start to finish was easy and seamless! I emailed them with photos of my watch, they called me the next day and from there it took about a month before my cheque arrived into my hands (USA to Canada). The company is very transparent in their contract and they really made the process a pleasure to do business. I never once had the inkling that they were trying to bamboozle me or be sneaky in their dealings. I was originally going to list my Breitling on ebay; however, I knew ebay would be a problem because my watched needed servicing (which would be expected by the potential buyer) and that cost was over $500 from Breitling. Plus, the fees that ebay and paypal take are just atrocious for what they give you in return. Lastly, any potential audience/buyers would most likely pay duty since I would be shipping from Canada. C & C was the optimal route to sell my watch because they have 'in house' watch experts who do the servicing, etc. And since my watch was selling from the USA, the customer base being largely in the States meant they were not paying fees such as duty which helped me! There is no doubt in my mind that I received the best price (USD) for my Breitling by going through C &C. I had nothing but a positive experience with C & C's staff, the contract and their terms and conditions which were reasonable. If I am ever in the market for buying a luxury watch, I will go to C & C because I know that I will get an authentic watch that has been fully serviced at a good price. Lastly, should this company go public on the stock exchange, I would seriously consider buying shares because of the nature of their business and how well run the company appears. I have a very nice and recently serviced Omega Planet Ocean watch with 2 bands, original papers, box and recent service card from Omega. I reached out to C&C and they agreed to give me a sum for it, which I wasn't exactly thrilled about, but needed a quick sale. After I finally decided to send in the watch I received an email a few weeks later indicating that the watch was rejected. I asked why and was told that it was not "up to standard". I then sent them the info of the recent factory service. They still rejected the watch. This was evidently due to them having more inventory than they wanted and decided to change their minds. They were then supposed to verify where I wanted the watch sent back to so it could be signed for. This was not done and the watch was sent to an address where it could not be signed for. After hours on the phone with FedEx, the watch was finally tracked down at a holding facility 90 miles from my home. By the time the watch was found it was then being sent back to C&C. I reached out to C&C and have received no response. So now, 5 weeks in, I have neither my watch nor the money I was originally promised for the watch. C&C has not offered to make the situation right and as of today I do not know where my Omega Planet Ocean watch is. read more

Be warned of their insufficient warranty policy. I bought a watch two years ago from them. Out of the box, it didn't keep accurate time (about 5% off). They said to send it back and they would repair it. They did, and then two months later the same issue happened. I asked them to replace it, concerned the watch was faulty, they instead repaired it again. Over a year later, with only a few days of wearing the watch (I have others), the same issue happened again. They said the warranty had expired, sorry. I sold a watch to this company back in November. They extended me a reasonable offer for the watch and I accepted. I accepted the express payment for a small fee. The check never arrived. I called in and customer service was polite and attentive. They noted that the check was sent through regular mail and it would be put to 10 business days to arrive. Ok. No problem. 10 days went by and no check. I gave it a couple of more days and still no check. I called back to track the payment and they issued a stop payment to the supposed check that was mailed and overnighted me second check. I deposited the overnighted check through my bank app. The next day I received a notification from my bank stating that my account was. Under investigation an all my funds were frozen and my account is suspended. I went to the bank to find out what was going on. To my surprise the bank said that the check I deposited was flagged as fraudulent. This is when the ordeal began. I finally got a hold of a supervisor named Elysse. Her poor demeanor and lack of customer service skills is astonishing. Throughout my conversations with her she made me feel like I was trying to pull a scam. I asked for a manager and I was connected with Timothy Carson, Director of Client Services. He assured that it was all going to be taken care of and put me in contact with Chantel Boddie, their comptroller. I would like to praise Chantel for doing everything she could in a courteous way and being extremely patient with me in moments of frustration. As nothing could had be done on her part I called Timothy Carson again to express my frustration and see how we could keep digging into the issue. At one point I left him a voicemail stating that if I see no resolution I was going to take this issue to court. In another conversation this fool remarked on how 1,700 could be a big amount of money for some people. Which I replied to him that that amount does not make me any richer or poorer and that I wanted what is rightfully mine. It doesn't matter if is $5 or $1000 dollars. What a nerve he has. Absolutely prejudiced. I was referred to Tricia DeliPizzi, Senior Vice President of Business Operations. In her opening email she stated that she handled all legal matters. I thought great, finally a capable person. I provided her with all the documentation that the bank gave me to proof that the check never was cashed but this was not enough. I still was treated like if I was trying to pull a scam. I contacted the bank as their check and my account was in the same bank. The bank clearly told me that the issuer of the check needs to call the bank and verify the check number in order for the funds to be released. I relayed this information to aTricia and she was asking me to tell the bank to email her and set up a call. Who am I her assistant?? Many emails and back and forth and they have done nothing as of today (January 10 22). It seems this company hands out titles to bozos that have zero idea on how to effectively resolve customer issues in a timely manner. All this headache for a measly $1,700. I'm not backing down. Bought a vintage AP watch from them primarily because they make you think that they will stand behind everything they sell. They say they inspect every watch and promise that their products come with a warranty if things go wrong. Sure enough after a few months the watched stopped and they told me it was not covered under the warranty due to "improper use". Sent the watch to the manufacturer who said the movement was damaged by a 3rd party. Since I never opened the watch my only explanation is that these guys essentially sold me a watch that was previously damaged. I tried getting Crown and Caliber to help me pay for the repair (which cost me over $5,000) and they kept giving me excuse after excuse and refused to pay a single dime. I received a used brightening watch (No Box, No Papers) from them and the second i opened the box I could tell something was wrong. I took it to my local watch shop, on palm beach island so they know their stuff. As I feared it was a fake. Not even a good fake. There was no serial number on the watch, the minute and hour hand had what looked like liquid paper on them and the brightening logo was very flawed. Long story short (ish) I just asked for a refund. They refused to give me a full refund!!! I can't even muster the energy to write all my negative experiences from crown and caliber. First they promised 2 day delivery; item arrived 6 days later. Tracking showed the watch stuck in Atlanta for the first four days. Their return window is 7 days from shipment date, I received the watch on day 6. Despite three emails to them (which I will happily screenshot here) asking to extend this window owing to the major shipping delay, I received ZERO response. International Buyers beware! CC's refund process will bite you on exchange rates! You could lose HUNDREDS of dollars, as I have. After cancelling a watch, a sudden and sharp drop in the US exchange rates caused me to lose $150+ CAD in a matter of days for no reason whatsoever on a refund from CC. Understandably, the US exchange rates are beyond the control of CC; nonetheless, customer service (despite being very professional) were in this instance incredibly unhelpful. There was no sense of personal and customer accountability whatsoever; they simply send you back the USD amount you paid, and whatever happens to you after that, happens; they do not care. They have no obligation to care, you argue; yes, they have no obligation to do so. However, leaving a customer literally hundreds of dollars short upon refund is not a good way to keep business. The sheer carelessness and lack of personal accountability is disappointing, to say the least. I expected more from CC, I really did. Maybe my expectations are simply too high from such a large and prosperous company; perhaps, a single, lowly, customer such as myself is simply irrelevant to them in the grand scheme of things; maybe. But one thing is for sure, I will never use Crown and Caliber again. read more

I sought a buy offer from this company for my Omega 3212.80 Speedmaster (blue) with box and all papers. Age is 22 months. They promptly offered $1,300 or $1500 on a trade. Watch sells for $3700.00 new plus tax here in Ca. of 10%, so a $4,000 piece. [On Ebay there are two for sale for $2400 but those are in Japan and there is duty and the fact the bracelet has been made smaller than most American men's wrists. So those are not similar offers or sales. Japan watches are not cheaper once you get done with shipping, tariffs, duty and trying to find links to make the bracelet fit a 7 and one-half inch wrist.] The offer is so low that I made no counter proposal. I really do NOT want to deal with them. reading the posts here I see I am not alone. I read this company is a Walls Street guy deciding to go into used watches. Watches are not Wall Street sir. I'm very pleased with Crown & Caliber. My Omega came quickly, but more importantly the condition of the watch exceeded my expectations. The description referenced wear of the reflective coating on the crystal. I've had the watch a couple days and have yet to find it. The watch is pristine--appears brand new. I have yet to detect a dent, scratch or any other sign that this watch is 10 years old. I will also praise the two phone calls with C&C, one before I bought the watch, doing some due diligence on the company and the precautions they take to prevent sale of stolen watches or fakes and one afterward when I needed help to explain how to change the date. First of all I want to say I'm thrilled about my omega speedmaster I purchased used from C&C. It's was in better condition that what I was expecting it to be for a used timepiece. The customer service on the phone was top notch and the lady who helped me was very kind and patient and, above all, knowledgeable about the nuances of watches. My order was delivered on time and in very nice safe packaging. They went above and beyond to certify not only the watch but all of the accessories to document them as original and authentic omega parts. Everything was boxed up nicely and polished. I'm super happy and will be ordering more watches very soon. As for those who are hesitant about ordering online, I would generally avoid it. But crown and caliber is an exception. These people ensure everything is authentic and confirmed before selling a timepiece. And you have a year to return if you did even find something wrong with it! Secondly, as for those who are hesitant to buy a used watch in general, you must simply look closely at the pictures on the website. They are super detailed and up close images designed to show you any flaws on the watch. People who wrote reviews and said the watch was in poor condition clearly didn't look at the images. They are very open and transparent about what you are buying. I can say now that the scratches shown on my watch pictures are not as bad as they are to the naked eye. Again, they take special images designed to show the flaws. Why buy a used watch? Because I have an amazing Omega that looks brand new and I paid way less than a new one. I'm mostly a fan. Let me start by saying that they were pretty much a first-class experience for me and made me feel very comfortable with the whole process... right up until I accepted their offer and it was time to get paid. Then I suddenly felt like I'd just stepped decades back in time. They mail paper checks; only on Fridays. So if it's Monday, the check won't even start it's journey for many days. And once the check is mailed it takes "seven to ten business days" for the check to arrive. I had a hard time accepting this, but my messages to them about why it was taking so long were met with a polite "don't call us until it's been ten business days". The check finally arrived on a Saturday, fifteen *calendar* days after the postmark date, but still within the "ten business day" window they had told me to expect. I'm not sure -- maybe there is a very good reason their payment process takes so long with certain business considerations I'm not aware of. But I'd say mark this item as "needs improvement".
