Crowns save me! We had bought a dishwasher from Lowe's thinking it was the pump and when they came out they refused to install it because I had no air gap. They told me to replace my faucet or drill an additional hole in my Silestone. I told them to take it back and called Crown. I was prepared to buy my dishwasher from them if they would do it without an air gap. They came and they were so informative. They said I didn't need air gap and found a little piece of glass! The bill was so much less expensive than buying a new dishwasher!!! They also gave me tips on good maintenance! Thank you Crown! read more

Shame on you......Looks like they changed the location of the business but not how they do business. I took in a old R.V microwave since I was having a hard time finding one to fit. I figured it couldn't cost much to fix since a new one is 125 or less. Boy was I wrong they charge me 69.95 to look at the microwave. I was told its a deposit for the work to be done. Mind you this microwave is a 2003-2004 so anyone that works on them would know that its hard to get parts for something 13 years old. They took my money anyways then told me they couldn't repair it. I asked about my deposit. I was told that was for work performed I was speechless. I own my own business here in Modesto and I give free estimates all the time for the last over 10 years. Its just good business and you should of know since its your business parts may not been available. I should of been told this up front but repair guy was not there to talk to some lady at the counter. If I new that the parts may not be available I would not of gave a $70.00 deposit. Now they want to charge me to dump in the trash and then says I owe them 25.00 more since the 70.00 only covers 15 minutes of labor that I was not told about again. It would of took him 2 minutes to see on the label it was to old to fix. Call me and tell me we may not be able to fix. 25$ more since they spent another 30 minutes over the 15 minutes how does this math every work out. This company is a big SCAM i would of told my customer its better to by new then fix old because parts are not avaliable. I will be calling my credit card company on this fraudulent business and anyone else I know. Since I own a sign shop in this town trust me I will be passing the word about this. Horrible experience with my dryer. Needed a belt, then something else. Besides the $70 service call they charged me $25 per every 15 minutes that time included one of them standing in hallway talking to his wife or whoever he says I LOVE YOU TOO. All the while Im asking for a price to fix it. He finally brings me a price after he has taken my dryer off. I bought a new dryer for less money than dealing with these people. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE SCAMMERS!!! I REPEAT, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE LOW LIFE LYING CRIMINALS!!!! They took advantage of my 70 year old Mother. After a 4 day stint in the hospital she came home to find a problem with the refrigerator and called what used to be "oakdale appliance" and when they came out their van said "crown appliance". John and his wife Mary showed up 2 hours late on a thursday (no phone call to say that they are running late) for the initial appointment to diagnose the problem and after an hour and a half of hearing John talk about how he's the best in the business(first red flag) they finally gave her the quote and requested the money(400$) up front which she shouldn't have paid but having just been in the hospital for 4 days she was so stressed and sleep deprived that she just wanted the fridge fixed. They said they would be out the following tuesday to repair the fridge and when tuesday rolls around and they were no shows, she called them on wednesday and Mary says they will be out later that afternoon. Once again they were no shows and no phone call. They lied to us for 2 weeks daily saying that they would be out and when my mom requested for her money back John magically shows up that same day to replace one of the two parts saying that he'll have to come back to fix the other one. After another week of Mary lying to us saying that they would be out at certain times and them not showing up or answering our phone calls, John has the nerve to call my mom and say that she's demanding and was completely disrespectful and angry. Definitely has an anger management problem to speak to a 70 year old woman like that. She paid you $400 and shouldn't have to wait a month to get her fridge fixed. After a month of no shows and no phone calls my mom finally told them to just drop the remaining parts off or she's taking legal action and Mary came to drop off the part and she had an attitude problem as if they hadnt taken my moms money and been lying to her for a month!!!! She is out $400 and the fridge never got fixed. THEY ARE THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL people my mom has ever dealt with in her life. They will lie and never show up. On top of all of this i managed to find the parts online and they totally overcharged her for parts!! They charged $110 for a $20 part and another $134 for a $34 part!!! My mom who lives on social security and a fixed income is now out $400 and the fridge never got fixed. read more

Long story short we spent close to $500 in March to have our dishwasher repaired. They did not give us any kind of written estimate at any time (isn't that required by law?) and they charged us more than they said they would on the three service calls they took to fix our appliance. It is now July and one of the parts they replaced has gone out again. I called, they will do nothing for us, no parts, or labor guarantee, nothing. I have been a customer of theirs for at least 30 years and I believe my parents were before that. I'm all for giving small local businesses my business. You'd think that they would have great customer service so they could compete with the big box stores. Not Crown. I will never darken their doors again. read more

I am impressed that Crowns has reached out to me. Mistakes happen, but to find someone willing to go the distance to fix them, that is rare. This has been the worst experience ever!!! My oven broke. We tested the baking element ohms and the baking element was not the problem. I called Crowns Creative Kitchens and they said the earliest they could come out was one week out. She said that they would test it and find which part was bad, order the part, then come back out to replace it in 3-4 days when it came in. The guy who came out was clueless and did not test ANYTHING! He collected $95 just for showing up and doing nothing other than saying yep it's broken. Then he said they had to take it back to the shop 2 days later, figure out which part is bad, order the part and then bring it back. Even though they previously told me it would take 3-4 days to get parts, they claimed I would have it back in one day, another lie! I did not want to be without the range top to cook dinner. I was just going to go buy another oven and asked for my money back, but the store manager refused to refund my money for a tech that was completely worthless and did nothing, and she was rather rude about it. Even though I used to be a repeat customer, I am never going back. This whole experience has made me angry and it takes a lot to upset me. Response: You absolutely refused to refund my money like I asked (before you researched parts or did any work other than turning on an oven and watching it for a few minutes) and you only tried to be more cooperative after I said I was going to file a complaint. The biggest point being that I was misled as to what would happen and by the time I found out the truth, I could not get a refund. If I would have known you were going to charge me $95 for someone to turn on my oven and then say it's broken without testing anything at all, then tell me they had to take my oven to their shop, instead of letting me have the stove top to cook on while ordering parts, I would have declined and sought another company. read more

Do not call this business for service. I asked for washer repair and a tray to be put underneath the washer. I told the person on the phone 2 times about the tray. The technician arrived in a car with tools in a backpack. He told me the washer would need to be repaired in the store and he was not told about the tray. He could not put it under the washer because he didn't have a dolly. His attention was totally on playing with his tablet computer he hummed and bounced around while playing on it. This person was inept and totally unprofessional. I would give negative stars if I could. The price of the repair would almost buy a new washer! I went to Crowns creative kitchen to buy a tilt bracket for my stove as home depot didn't have any in stock. This is a $5-6 dollar part and Crown charged me $47.95, which is 10x the market value. I will never shop there or use there services again. read more

If I could give them negative stars, I would. I contacted Jenn-Air since I had some issues with my refrigerator. My sister was home when this company came to fix the refrigerator. There service repair man came to my house and tried to repair the issue. he noted that the there was a gap in the seal. He contacted Jenn-air to help him resolve the issue. After a few hours he stated the problem was fixed. When i returned from being out of town I went shopping and placed items in the freezer. I was noticing that my freezer was not freezing and the the temperature in the freezer was at 44 degrees. I also noted that nt only had he not fixed the gap in the seal the door did not close properly and that there was now a gap on the side. I contacted the CCK to fix these issue. I was told by their service manager that they repaired the refrigerator and the items that I noted above had nothing to do with their repair. I could not believe it. What the heck do you mean? I contacted jenn air complained about the organization and they sent out Dave's Appliance. They were able to accuratley assess the issue. Order the correct part and fix the problem. People do not waste your time working with CCK. if they come to your house to fix an appliance dont allow them to do it. Use anyone else. read more

John at Crowns Creative Kitchens, a.k.a., Crown's Appliance is a rude, violent tempered, unprofessional man. DO NOT use this company. His call to come repair a refrigerator became a nightmare of him not calling back, several phone calls to the office over 2 days and Liz not calling back, promising she would after she researched my matter. Liz is his perfect foil denying knowing anything and not addressing the problem. They misrepresent what they say they will do and when you follow up they avoid and lie. Clearly they are downsizing from an appliance sales store to a repair store with a 'window' cut out of the wall to talk to the customer. Probably so they are protected from all the angry customers they don't take care of. John requested payment up front, at an inflated price I learned after the fact, and had me sign the receipt, photographed my credit card so fast I didn't realize he had put it on his cell phone, and left without giving me the copy of receipt. WITHIN 2 days, concern of my credit card out there, 4 phone calls to office, being told from Liz I would be called back and no return phone call, I went into the office to cancel the part order. Liz said she just didn't know anything and I would have to talk to john. They take your money up front, say whatever lie to put you in a defensive position and then don't take care of the matter or follow up. I did receive the part unannounced the following week (they didn't come out on the 2nd day to replace the part as he had promised) by a man banging on my door for 5 minutes and yelling through the door "Oh come on!" because I wouldn't open the door to a man on the other side fist banging on my door while I was home alone. Judy in the office over the phone said John is on medication and that causes him to talk so rudely to his customers and "Praise the Lord, he is still with us". What nonsense. This is such a horrible company. They must be desperate to make money any way they can without any moral fiber in their beings. read more

Had a technician come to my house for a warranty repair to the range. He was unfamiliar with the unit and even after getting assistance from the manufacturer he could not open the front to expose the damaged area. He fumbled with the unit, denting the side and scratching it (stainless steel). This went on for almost 3 hours. He left with no assessment as to what caused the failure and would not tell me if it could be repaired. He said he would call the manufacturer and they would communicate with me a repair or replacement. I called back in a week for an assessment and did not get any call backs. He was a complete waste of time and I would not have trusted any repair by him. I called again and spoke to a manager who said I told the repairman I did not want a repair and this was told to the manufacture. This was incorrect. What I said was that I wanted assurance that the range would not turn it's self on again and catch fire as it had after the repair. read more

These people are beyond grossly incompetent. What's worse is I don't think they would fix something if they knew how. I hired them to fix our refrigerator which was freezing food on both sides. When they showed up I moved just out of the way but could see what they were doing. They took food out of the refrigerator, adjusted the temperature setting then put it right back where it was and vacuumed the back side. That's it. They said it would take 24 hours for the adjustments to take effect and charged me $60 for a service fee and $144 for I don't know what. I didn't know until they left that they didn't make any adjustments, it was on the same setting that it was before they got there. Next day, and even now, the refrigerator is still as it was, freezing food on both sides. I called them back out. One guy shows and again moves food in and out and starts telling me not to change the temperature setting. NOBODY CHANGED IT BUT THEM! AND THEN THEY CHANGE IT BACK BEFORE THEY LEAVE. I called again and told them that I want my money back because they didn't do anything. They had the audacity to say that I messed it up by changing the temperature setting too much. I didn't change the temperature setting, they did. I don't know how these guys stay in business and out of jail. I plan to pursue whatever legal means available. read more

Too expensive for me. I need my microwave repaired, so I called the company that sold it to me. I found out that they will charge me a "diagnosis" fee of $70. Then if they can repair it the cost would be $100 per hour ($25/15 min) plus parts. Also the diagnosis fee was not part of the repair cost. So after a little research I found that I can replace the whole unit for less than having CCK repair it. Too bad the diagnosis fee wasn't included in the price of the repair. I'm sure it would not take them 42 minutes to diagnose the problem. There were 20+ youtube videos that would do it in less 10 minutes each. In fact I think one of the people in one of the youtube videos was a teenager and I bet he could be paid with a hamburger and fries. So bottom line, I think that charging $100 / hr it excessive but not including the cost of the diagnosis in the repair cost is too much. A little caveat though; if the diagnosis takes 2 hours then I suppose I win. But they and I know that would not likely ever be the case. read more
