Had an hour lunch and decided to try this place. Walked in and decided on the mix plate and one chicken wing to try. Food came out in about 10min or so. Mix rice if lamb and chicken. Dish came with salad and sauce. Half way through my food I remembered I had a chicken wing. I went to the counter and asked for my wing. Owner gave me an extra one. Wing was seasoned well but it was a bit dry. My rice plate had way too much oil, not sure if that's normal. The amount of food you get is a good deal but the rice plate was lacking some flavor. read more

Crown is like a upscale kfc. Better service and easy better service. The fried chicken is very very good. Crispy flakey batter while the chicken is moist. The show stopped is their gyro. I love their chicken here. I am not sure what they do differently than the chains, but it actually tastes like chicken, and doesn't make your stomach sick afterwards! No matter how you pronounce it, a gyro is a thing of beauty. Chewy dough with a tangy yogurt sauce, crisp veggies and super flavorful meat? Isn't that a recipe for success if you ever saw one? I found this place after seeing lines outside on weekends, and made a mental note to remember it next time I needed a gyro. I've been a few times now, and it was so good, yesterday I had to bring my better half along to see what I was talking about. The restaurant is nothing much to look at, with simple tables and wall coolers of drinks, but don't let that fool you. The food is solid, and the owner personally manages the front as well as does some of the cooking. He is just the nicest guy, and always remembers me by name and puts extra sauce on my gyro. Gyro meat is usually mixed like beef and lamb, and this one is well seasoned- not skimping on the serving size. I've never left hungry, and I always feel welcome and appreciated when I walk through the door. If the gyros are that good, I'm sure other things on the menu are great too, but I just can't tear myself away from the gyros to try them. Prices are competitive, service is super friendly and warm, parking is easy off west main, and serving sizes are plentiful. I will definitely be returning, and think this is one of the best, fast and local lunches on the island! read more

We heard a lot of great things about this place and it did not disappoint. Is it the best food I've ever had? No. But is it wonderful for a quick, filling, tasty dinner? Absolutely! I had the chicken and rice and it was perfect for what I wanted. The dish was tasty and not super frilly. Like, just the perfect amount of tasty, if that makes sense. I could t finish the whole meal in one sitting but it'll make for great leftovers for lunch tomorrow too! I'm excited to come back here and have some more dishes. I got some fried chicken and rice for takeout and it was very good. Not greasy like some fried chicken and it had a good spicy (but not too spicy) flavor to it. The side of rice pilaf was also good. Prices are reasonable. If you want fried chicken and don't want to go to a chain or grocery store deli, then this place is an excellent option in the area. Get here - legit all around. Fried chicken was delicious and not something you typically find in. Ew England of this quality. The gyros were delicious- messy and delicious. A year ago I gave this place 5star but today I wish I could give them ZERO STAR!!! This place is going down hell as it's being ran by some rude people and kids. Get your customer service together! Train your staff in customer service! Get orders correct! Don't throw food and receipt on the counter. The big guy with beard gotta go he been there for quite some time and always moody and treat you like he is doing you a favor. We decided to order 3 meals from the Specials menu. We ordered online and arrived on time. The man behind the counter wasn't very good- he tool his time acknowledging that I was there, answered the phone, wandered around while a woman working alone at the grill area seemed to do all the work! He finally noticed me- my order had been sitting on the shelf behind him, and he handed me a bag saying all set. When we got home, the spicy chicken sandwich special was just the sandwich in a small box. No fries, no soda. The meals were a bit cold, too. The place was pretty empty so no excuse. I had to ask for utensils and salt/pepper ( he gave me exactly 2 small packets of each) and seemed put out that I asked. I had fried chicken here years ago yet had no idea they had gyro's and other options, plus they are located at the end of my street! I have been craving and daydreaming about a lunch dish i got when i worked in NYC with rice and salad and lamb, and yesterday I got to order it and have it here in RI! I ordered the lamb plate and the chicken plate and my husband and I were in heaven. ALSO, I picked it up on my way home from work with my son in the car and I asked the gentleman if he would be able to bring it out to my car if I paid with a card, and he said yes! I ordered crown chickens 10 piece combo tonight and 9 piece tender w/fries. The tenders were good but the fries that came with them were over cooked like they were thrown back in the fryer to heat them up for the fifth time. The 10 pieces of chicken I received was terrible, I got 3 legs, 2 wings, 2 breasts, 2 thighs and a mystery piece. To top it off they did not give me my biscuits. read more

Honestly, I don't have much good things to say regarding my experience with Crown Chicken. I will begin by saying that if I could give it no stars, I would. I had to place a decently sized order for an event and prior to doing so, I contacted them and inquired about the earliest time to do so. I placed the order that morning when they opened up at noon and the order was supposed to be delivered at 5. I called them at 5:30 and the women told me that they "forgot about my order". Upon showing up an hour late, the women was very rude and failed to even apologize about what had happened. On top of all of this, the chicken was cold and the mashed potatoes were very subpar. Today was the second time in 2019 that I ordered delivery from Crown and both times I didn't get my biscuit as advertised per my mail. The first time they didn't have any macaroni salad or potato salad as I ordered online and they wouldn't refund my card so I got stuck with macaroni and cheese which I didn't want. Today I decided to try them again and again I didn't receive my biscuit and instead of the macaroni salad I ordered they gave me macaroni and cheese which I didn't want without even telling me and they were again out of potato salad so I had to order extra coleslaw.
