The streets are crowded and more inner city, but the strip mall Crown Fried Chicken is on is not crowded at all and removed somewhat from the street. First, the restaurant is a small fast food style with 5-6 tables, and the place is clean and well kept up. The menu is extensive and pictures and menus line 2 walls. The chicken is seasoned well and juicy and crispy. The fries are done just right, for me anyway, not crispy and dry but just crispy and tender enough. The food is not greasy at all, well mine wasn't. I called in the order, and it was on time and accurate, and in fact, the guy counted off my order as he packed it to go. The chicken is decidedly better than KFC, juicier and meatier, though the seasoning is not the same as the old KFC. Mashed potatoes/gravy and rolls are fresh. I went here to order lunch, not only was my order completely wrong when I returned all the way back to work, it was full of grease. I had to throw most of it out when they refused to correct it. I called back and explained my order was wrong and the person on the phone told me it must have been my fault. I would have gone back to pick the correct order up but they wouldn't hear of it. This is our Uber go to!! Love the chicken wings. Their wings are battered and fried. We order the wings and fries with a dessert. The fries are crispy and delicious - despite being take out! Yay! The desserts are always good - the flan, fried dough, and tres leches cake are some of our favs! Recently we tried the Cole slaw and it was SOOO GOOD! BEWARE. THE OWNER TOWS CARS!!!! WITHOUT SHAME. People saying that the owner is a "nice guy" got lucky. My bf and I were seeing a friend after 6 months at the restaurant next door, and we had parked our cars closer to Crown Chicken. Crown Chicken owner had BOTH our cars towed (my friend's car was next for towing but we came out at the right time). Crown Chicken owner had NO RIGHT. We were back and forth with the landlord and tow company. This place is a plaza. All parking spots are SHARED between the 3 stores. Crown Chicken owner DOES NOT "own" any parking spots, despite his MISCONCEPTION. Anyhow, the owner was being noncompliant until the landlord had to call the towing company himself, and I told Crown Chicken owner I would call the cops (encouraged by landlord). After much time, we were able to get our cars back (30min walk to towing company...) and the $360 (!!!) bill was charged to Crown Chicken. AWFUL man. Plus, their chicken is overpriced anyways. I have read almost all of the reviews about this restaurant and all I read was positive responses from those persons weather their telling the truth or not. But for me my review would be a one star because of many Facts: Bad Facts: 1. The chicken was under seasoned needs alot more seasoning. 2. The Chicken was drenched in oil. 3. The chicken is too much golden brown. 4. The fries needed more salt. 5. The Macaroni & Cheese was under seasoned. Good Facts: 1. The delivery was very much on point and within the time frame it had to be delivered for. 2. Delivery person was very friendly and courteous to Joel . 3. The chicken was juicy, moist and tender. I'm a Chef and I look for a lot of flavors in everything I eat but your chicken and fries didn't meet my expectations at all. Best fried chicken in The Merrimack Valley. This place does chicken, fish, burgers, etc. The food is absolutely delicious and the service is outstanding. Daphne and I were searching for some adventure, and boy did we find some at Crown Fried Chicken in Lawrence. As we were pulling in, a man wearing tight red sweatpants, gladly waved me over to give me his parking spot, I felt right at home! Once I was inside, I proceeded to order some fried chicken with fries. While I was waiting for my food, I noticed a small gathering of people around my car, it seems to be the local hang out spot. Upon receiving my food and exiting the building, I proceeded to see the largest tramp stamp of my life. I'm talking about a tattoo that took up this woman's whole back. When I sat down in the car, it was then that I realized how grease covered the food was. The food was so greasy that the plastic bag felt like it was put in the frying pan. I have not been back to Crown since, but overall the prices were great if you like grease covered chicken, with a 50% chance of seeing a hoochy mama with a tramp stamp. read more

I called to place an order and asked for the chicken kabob with rice, he just said "we don't have chicken kabob" in a rude tone, so I asked him if that was just for today or if they weren't gonna have it anymore and he just hung up on me. Delivery is very slow, they always get the order wrong and they don't bring you everything that you ordered. You get fries or yellow rice (its Lawrence) with the chicken, salad, and a 12 oz. can of soda. Prices are very reasonable. There is a limited menu of additional fried food items available. Although located on a well populated main street, it is the inner city. There are sometimes sketchy characters in the area, but I go to Lawrence often and have never had a problem. read more

The color was very orange but I assumed they used some sort of spice that had that sort of food coloring. That same day after eating that salad my stomach was killing me and it kept getting worse.
