We were in town for a weekend and stopped on this place. It has a nice overall feel and very helpful employees. They have a nice selection of Native American turquoise and even a small estate jewelry section. The owner was nice enough to give us a bit of history of the area and chat with us a bit. I had two pieces out of the case and felt they were a bit overpriced but we are in a tourist town...pricing is why I rated it a 3 star instead of 4. I'm sure they are willing to negotiate with locals and give better deals...which is understandable. Worth a stop in to look at the pretty sparkle though. read more

I stopped in today to see about getting a few items repaired that I have had in my purse for months after a move across country. This is not my first experience with Crown Jewelers. During COVID I needed one item repaired - a necklace. They would not commit on when it would be repaired and it took a couple of months. Understandable during COVID. It's not COVID now and I asked if they could repair even one item in a week - going to Europe - a pair of earrings. The answer was absolutely no. I was prepared for that - last minute and they've already demonstrated that speed in repair is not their priority. The repair person just returned from vacation and has hundreds hundreds??? of items to repair. Very understandable What bothered me was the way I was looked over and treated. I ran in straight from the aesthetician in a sweatshirt and leggings in the rain. While waiting for the repair person to look at my things, I was stared at constantly and evaluated by the employees. No alternative timeframe was suggested. The customer service and friendliness is lacking. I will not return to this store to purchase or repair jewelry. Second time. I would not bring your repairs here. read more

I brought in a necklace to have a catch replaced so I could put on the necklace easier as original was to small. I paid $35 for repair which included the new catch plus side ring. When I went to put necklace on, I noticed that they did not make both of the pieces the same. Therefore, it renders the necklace useless to put on as the piece does not close easily around my neck. I have arthritis in my hands and this is frustrating for me as cannot put this necklace on. I love this opal necklace my husband gave me, and now I can no longer wear it as hard for me to put on. My husband brought it back to Crown for me to have it adjusted and they refused to fix it. They wanted to charge me another $35 for it.! What nerve they have. They made the error and I have to repay? They are not trustworthy and don't stand by their work. I brought in a lot of pieces of jewelry to be fixed which was over $400, and they should stand by their work. Are they that desperate for money that they have to rip customers in off? I will never come here again and advise others not to as they are not honest or trustworthy plus don't stand by their work. Go somewhere else. I was planning to buy something else, but now I will go to a different place which hopefully will be more reputable and stand by their work. read more

This would be a 0 star review if possible. I brought a hand carved stone in to have mounted on silver, for my mother's birthday. I wanted the carving side visible when worn, which I thought was a fairly obvious request. Upon returning to pick up the order, I discovered they mounted the stone backwards, carving side down. When I pointed out the error, their excuse was "The girl who you spoke with only works thursdays...", as if this somehow made everything right. They then informed me what I had originally asked for is impossible, which would have been nice to know a month ago. Now my mother is without a birthday gift, and I am stuck looking for another jeweler. Bottom line; if you are thinking about using Crown Jeweler in Canandaigua, look elsewhere. read more

I have only been here once, but I am mainly writing this review on my Mom's experiences and love for the store. This place is family owned and they know their customers very well. My first time here was at 6AM on Black Friday (my mom is crazy by the way). They were having a fantastic sale. My mom had already ordered a couple of charms that she was picking up, but also picked out a necklace for my sister. They were pretty busy for 6AM, but they were very thorough and dedicated attention to everyone in there. My mom gets all of her jewelry here because the family has always given her great service and they are extremely kind and helpful. They even helped appraise some of their melted jewelry. A few years ago, my parents lost their house in a fire. My mom's jewelry was found, but was all melted together. They took what they could to the store and Crown Jewelers was kind enough to give them a quote on what they had. Since they knew my mother so well, they also remembered several of the pieces she had. I, personally, do not have a place I "go to" because I am not a jewelry type girl, but how highly my mom speaks of them and their service and quality makes me more than happy to write this review. read more

I was referred to this shop by a couple people when getting ready to propose to my girlfriend. I am so happy that I went to crown. I have always hated going to chain stores for jewelry. You tell them how much you want to spend and they start at three times that amount. The associate at crown immediately understood where I was at in terms of budget and style and did not once try to up sell me to something way out of my budget. I was still provided with several options below and above my budget and he ended up coming up with the perfect piece that was on budget and absolutely gorgeous.
