Great Service! Quick response and same day service. The technician came just after 5pm but stayed as long as it took to make the proper repairs. He didn't rush even though it was getting late in the evening. It was a ton of labor but he worked meticulously and finished promptly. My tracks were bent, a cable had popped. I was shocked at how quickly he finished considering he had to basically take my garage door down and replace a track. I had a garage door stuck open and the fellow that I normally use for repairs could not make it out until the following day. I started looking for service companies to come out and happened to see Crown so I called. To my surprise and joy I was told that they could come out that day. I made an appointment for 1:00 pm, and sure enough, promptly at 1 PM, the technician showed up. Can't beat that at all. He looked it over and gave an estimate of $400 to fix. I was floored at that. But I really had no choice. It took him about 50 minutes, him alone, to fix. At those rates, that's $480 per hour which is what a New York lawyer charges. read more

Crown was recommended to me by another company that works with garage door systems. A new garage door opener was installed within 48 hours of my initial call. I'm very, very happy with the new opener. Besides the quick and competent installation, they programmed the opener in my car and gave me two clickers. My very heavy garage door now opens without complaint and without strange noises and hitches. An odd statement but: it's been 35 years since I've had such a grand entrance to a return home. I really like that they didn't upsell me. I "got real" with the guy that came out regarding the odd behavior of my door, and he narrowed it down to my desire to install something that would last. He gave me five options, and he explained why each was appropriate and how each would fit a particular budget. He talked me out of an off-the-cuff unnecessary and costly upgrade (I was having a quite a day). Despite my frustrated "replace everything" attitude, he understood that I really just wanted something that would withstand the test of time. We ended up discussing max-grade chain or bells & whistles. Ultimately, I decided on the hard-working chain. Seriously, no matter how fancy the house, I've noticed that everyone seems to have a rattling, weak, and delicate garage door opener. Not mine anymore!!! The system was installed the next morning. When I walked into my garage, I knew I had made the right choice. I know quality and what I received was above and beyond my expectations. My new garage door opener is tough and will likely survive the next 20 years (I'm always an optimist but I haven't seen such quality since my dad's mid-century modern). It feels like commercial grade, and I got it with no upselling and no haggling. I have no comparison other than DIY friends but I feel that they're not cheap but nothing competes with quick, easy, honest service and an impressive result. Also, I was well aware of the cost ahead of time. If you don't mind avoiding the haggle, use Crown (and who knows? I didn't try haggling). I can't vouch for any discount: again, I have no basis for comparison and I didn't shop around. However, I feel great about the 3-year warranty, and nothing beats the feeling of true quality without hassle or delay. I'm really impressed with their professionalism and speed. I have had a lot of great experiences with home service companies lately, and Crown is - luckily - no exception. We needed to install an outside emergency release cable with keyed lock and replace the handle and deadbolt lock that manually locks the garage door from outside. Called for an appointment and spoke with Edna and Mike. They dispatched a technician, Josh, and he arrived, made the repairs, very professionally. The technician (Willie) arrived on time and replaced the broken torsion spring for my garage in less than an hour. The price was just slightly inflated from the quote because of some assumed info (I had one spring not two). I can't blame the contractor for this, plus it was cheaper than the other quotes I had gotten. Willie was straight forward and honest with no "upselling". Words simply cannot describe how poor our experience has been with Crown Overhead Doors. From overpriced quotes and price mark ups during the job. Things were far from simple during the work. When you think things couldn't get any worse... they really managed to outdo their performance. They tried to follow up and 'make things right'. I called to have our garage reprogrammed and to get some new clickers as two had recently been stolen. I needed to get it done as quickly as possible so I was super appreciative that they came out right away. However, the technician had a bad attitude and kept pointing out "issues" with the garage door. The garage was constructed just last year by a company with an excellent reputation for quality so I found it hard to believe the issues were real. I think he was trying to create more work so he could charge me more. I told him I was going to call the builder rather than have him fix these "issues" and he seemed a bit disgruntled. (I am going to call the builder and have them take a look at the things he mentioned. If he was right I'll update my review accordingly.) He did reprogram the door and set up new clickers so I guess at the end of the day he did what was requested and came out to my house quickly so A-ok. 6/18/14 I went here to check out garage door bottom seal (16ft wide residential) and the sale guy quoted me $95 plus tax. The guy behind charged me $28OTD. These people are manipulative and appear not very genuine or honest. DETAIL/BACKGROUND: There are two types of seal, slide on (flexible type) and screw on (rigid type), and i needed the screw on type. HD has the slide on type for about $15 and not the type I needed. Knowing that $95 for some plastic/rubber seal is overpriced, I kept my cool. I asked the price of the flexible type and quoted me $85 bucks. I showed him The similar product on my HD app showing dor about $15 and he tried to deny that's the same product. I asked him to lower the price on the seal I need and he went to the back and came back saying his manager can lower it to $65 from $95. I told him I'm willing to pay $30 for it and he said no. I thanked him for his time and left. Now, I don't care that they price it $95 bc the seal I wanted isn't available at places I looked but its wrong to price-gouge on the other seal where it's available at HD. I called around and found a large warehouse right behind this store and bought the seal for $28 OTD. Bottom line is these people will most likely take advantage of the weak customer. They will likely charge you more than competitor base on teh same service level. read more

I would never use them again. I asked what was wrong they said off track and would be ~10 minutes to fix. It was only 5 minutes but then handed a invoice for $150. Per call before job the min was much less for a service call. read more

Over the years, I have used the Bingle location of Overhead (Crown) Door several times for service on my garage doors. Their response time is pretty good. If the technicians were doctors, I would rate their "bedside manor" a 1 out of 5. On a recent visit, the demeanor of technician explaining to me what the issues of my garage doors, was as if he was talking to an idiot. I also got the vibe of being overcharged. Tried to buy a Liftmaster Home Bridge. Called ahead and was quoted a price. I drove to the store, then was told they misquoted and tried to convince me that another part will do the same thing. Not a good company to do business with anymore. They are now lying and then will not follow up with warranty work when they should. 08/04/18 Since I had to work, my wife handled our garage door making a loud noise at the motor. My wife played with Oscar' little white dog and watched Oscar play with the motor. Invoice just said, "Fixed the damaged opener & grease door" $238 but the door was working. Found a small grey piece of plastic on floor that looked like it had teeth. 08/27/18 Door failed again. I called and asked if it was under warranty from Jasmine, she said yes and said someone would be here 3:30-4:30. 4:30 came and at 5pm I was about to call when I received a call from Amy saying that Oscar was sick and would not be able to fix it today. She said either her or James would call me back and never did. I called back since no word and at all from anyone, and Andrew picked up saying he was there to just answer the phone. Oscar then came by very late said he would have to order parts. 08/28/18 Oscar called said he has part and it will be $240. WTF! I said it is under warranty but it seems to not understand good English. I called Jasmine she now claimed that the spring was replaced which both me and my wife know was not the problem at all and was not what was done. My wife knows because she watched him work on the motor unit. Would have been cheaper to buy a new unit, VERY SAD to lie to us as to what was done, this used to be a good company..... My wife watched Oscar work on the motor ONLY and was outside with the dog and never once did he go to where the spring is which is above the actual garage door! They did not replace the spring because I would not have been able to go to work that morning IF THE SPRING WAS BROKEN ON AUG 4TH BECAUSE I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO LIFT THE GARAGE DOOR AT ALL JUST LIKE WHEN WE REALLY DID REPLACE THE SPRING IN 2009! It's Friday early afternoon, one of the rare occasions I get off work early. I just got paid, I have plans to meet friends for happy hour and some amazing dinner plans with the wife. As I pull into my driveway and press the garage door button, the garage door opening 3/4's of the way, only the right side was going up. Before I knew it, the door was bending in the middle and the garage door had come off the rails. I managed to get the garage door back on the railing and close it partially, but looking at it, it wasn't looking good. I walked to my neighbors, they had a garage issue a few months back. I asked if they had the number to the company they had used. He was happy to give me the phone number and gave them high praise. I was hoping they would work for me. I called them, they had somebody in my drive way in 30 minutes. He assessed the damage, explained to me what had happened and why we were going to have to replace it instead of just fixing it. Door panels bent in the middle that once raised would bend again and a busted cable. He called their warehouse, verified they had a similar door available in stock and had it dispatched in a matter of minutes. He broke down the busted garage door and explained what the differences were going to be between the old and new one. Basically it was getting replaced with sturdier thicker product. Who knew? Another guy shows up with the garage door and they start the install. You can tell these guys just bang these out all day. The whole process was a 3 hour tour, from my phone call to a functioning garage door . That was much faster than I had anticipated. I was able to catch the tail end of the happy hour and make dinner with the wife. Crown Door Services saved my Friday night. If you pay with cash or check they do give a small discount. Which is good because you'd be surprised how much a new garage door cost to install. read more

I called Crown and they said they would have someone out within the hour. I thought, "Yeah right!" I live on the Far Eastside of Houston and it is a pain get service providers out to us. Ok here's an update on our overhead door that Crown could not fix.The owner told me that we needed to buy a whole new door when all we needed was a spring.He said that there was no way that anyone would be able to find a spring like the one his crew stole from us and threw in the trash. I refused to do that because the door we have is so much more rigid than anything we could get today.But just to let everybody know I told him that he was wrong and he was.The day after I told him to come and get his poor quality material I called Spring overhead door company and 4 days later they had my door working great.They had no problem with getting a heavy duty spring and did a quick and quality job and for about almost half of what Crown wanted.Do not waste your time and money with these guys. read more

So the weirdest most annoying thing happened. I called crown door for a quote and some guy named Willie came and tried ripping me off and was super rude. I had gotten the same repair years ago but i forgot what company from, it was definitely not that expensive. I then called another company named Sara's garage and their technician Raul gave me the same price for the repair. I started thinking, maybe the cost should be this much, but then I noticed Sara's and Crown door had the same contact number!!. I guessed they were the same company, so I called a company named "all about garage doors and gates", and the same guy Raul showed up and said he can fix my gate, he said he was the owner and he'll give me a good deal, at this point I wanted nothing to do with any of them. So I called a few more companies and trust me, the quote I got was much more reasonable. If you want to save time and money then I suggest you avoid all these companies. read more

Crown Door has the worst customer service. They are rude and will give false statements. I called for a WIRELESS KEYPAD, without me giving a part no. and told me they had it. She said, "if you don't trust me buy it from the internet" after I tried to confirm it was the same model we were talking about. They also said it was $60 and I tried to comfirm it again because I knew it could be more but said that was the price for my keypad. Turns out that they do have it but not for $60 instead $180. They need to slow down and listen to the customer before giving false statements. read more

Horrible management, Jasmine in the office has a terrible attitude and zero respect for her customer's time or satisfaction. I have had multiple repair calls in the past few months, coincidentally within weeks of the 1yr warranty ending, the product started failing. Twice did not show up and no phone call. I had to contact the company to re-schedule, after I took the day off to be home. One of the technicians was a complete sleaze, convinced me the motor was no longer working correctly and all would be right if only I replaced it, to the expense of several hundred dollars. And of course, I must pay by check instead of credit card, which was clearly evident had some benefit to him. I did and within weeks I am experiencing the same problem. Called 2 weeks ago for yet another repair, always the same issue which cannot seem to be resolved, and made an appointment for which the company did not show. No phone call. Completely a waste. Would not under any circumstances recommend this company. read more
