When I approached the bar and asked the only male bartender of the group if you had any great local craft beer he could recommend? Back in Phoenix after a 2 yr absence. Colleagues chose Crown. Had to call a buddy to ask what impressed me at Crown last time we were here. Wings? Pizza? Yes, the food was great. Awesome wings... pizza amazing... buddy said his meatloaf was memorable. But after being here 5 minutes I remembered what really made an impact 2 yrs ago. Dave. I've rarely had service this amazing. Dave has this place humming, even when the place is packed. He is quick as anything, attentive as human can be, makes great drinks, brings hot food, personable, patient. Actually, I was pleasantly surprised at this one. This place is located on a strip that I initially considered as a drinking spot for before and after pro-sports or concert events. We went in to this right after a game on a Saturday night. Immediately grabbed a table, and a server showed up with waters as we sat. Took our drink orders and returned within a couple minutes. We ordered wings and another order of fish and chips. Both came out quickly and were excellent. Service and food were excellent. read more

I always come here before and after D-Backs games. Staff is always friendly and attentive. The bar is much improved from the previous establishment that was in this spot a couple of years ago. The Crown isn't too far from my business so I bring clients and co-workers here and everyone always says how good the food is. Definitely a step above your normal bar fare. read more

What a disappointment. My husband & I stopped in before the Rattlers Game. It was busy but not unmanageable. We sat & waited for 10 minutes before my husband went to the bar & ordered our drinks himself. Once he brought the drinks to our table I immediately say a large bug floating in the drink. Upon closer inspection, both drinks had debris floating in the drinks. We tried several times to get the attention of someone who worked there, to no avail. I eventually took both untouched drinks to the bar. I let an employee know our concerns. He said ok & poured them out. $12.00 wasted. I'm not too upset because the things floating in the drinks appeared to have come from the drink dispensers as much as from the bottom of the glasses. read more

Came here before the Dodgers beat Arizona. Very crowded and loud, it's directly across from the baseball stadium. I don't mind loud places and it's a good place to grab a beer. Beers were $5.50 and served in a plastic cup. I ordered the Phoenix burger and it was delicious. I'd definitely come back here again. read more

Love the Crown! We're huge Liverpool supporters and love the family atmosphere this pub provides the fans. Was there for the Tottenham match and was impressed with the management who moved the buffet set-up onto the pool cover so a family could sit inside to watch the match along with the rest of the supporters. Talk about world class... We enjoyed the breakfast buffet, ice-cold Strongbow and Carlsberg on tap, good company w/the other Liverpool supporters along with a well-deserved win! I went here after Comicon downtown Phoenix and the location is super convenient to the convention center. The bartender recommended the meatloaf and it was so delicious. They have a balsamic vinaigrette drizzle that really adds a special touch to the flavor along with the mashed potatoes being thick and creamy. They also have buffalo cauliflower that I didn't try but looked really tasty as well. I would definitely say it is more of a bar because they have pool tables and trivia it the food will not disappoint. read more

Was downtown for work today and stopped in for lunch.. First time here. It was pretty empty when we got there but there was a bit of a lunch rush from the convention center across the street. It wasn't full like before a ballgame for sure, but I'm guessing they weren't expecting it because there was only one bartender who had to wait on the entire place.. That said, the service was maybe a little slow, but she did great. It was a nice relaxed atmosphere.. Nothing fancy, but I enjoyed it. Not sure if I was super hungry, but I really enjoyed my meal! I just had a Reuben with coleslaw and they were both fantastic. I didn't ask, but I assume the coleslaw was made from scratch in house.. I'm not even a big coleslaw guy, but this may have been some of the best I've ever had. A very weird statement from me regarding coleslaw. The Reuben was also quite good.. It was a bit greasy, but it was a Reuben.. Either way, it tasted fantastic and hit the spot. I will surely try this place out again if I'm in the area for business or for a ballgame. read more

Zero COVID measures are being taken here. Staff does not wear masks. Do not enforce customers wear masks. No social distancing on tables. It's a shame. The food is great, but has a limited menu now because of COVID? I don't know why they limit the menu if they're not going to enforce any other safety precautions for COVID.
