I see the review and honestly I'm a little shocked. I was so hesitant to go to this location based on the poor ratings. I found the staff to be very pleasant, helpful, and welcoming during our visit. I entered the hotel through the side wheelchair accessible ramp. The concierge desk was very welcoming and showed us promptly to the wedding party. Before the wedding started there was a last minute change due to wether and the beach wasn't going to work. They never skipped a beat and had the entire wedding relocated quickly as if it was the original plan. The waterfront deck where the ceremony was held is absolutely beautiful and very affordable. The planners, waiting staff, etc were all top notch and very pleasant to work with. The food quality and portions were quite large and delicious. I will return to this hotel and would highly recommend them for hosting weddings or private parties. read more

I think we must've gone to a different hotel than what other guests have described. Our room wasn't dated in the least. The bathroom had gray tile flooring with subway tile and beautiful glass shower doors, the room itself had a very up to date woodgrained wardrobe and matching desk and drawer area, not to mention a very chic set of chairs and side table. Our room (417) had a king sized comfy bed with lovely fluffy pillows and the bedding was warm enough to keep us comfortable when we left the AC on overnight. The service was impeccable; (Front desk: Joe) checked us in, in no time flat, gave us the keys and then says, I kid you not, "My name is Joe, if you need anything call the front desk and I'll be happy to help you." Maybe some of you are used to hearing this, but not us! We're used to watching and hearing people shirk their duties and push it off on to someone else. We had no problems, but later as I walked by, I said thank you! I recommend this hotel 100 percent! The ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is because there were a few items that need addressing in the room. A knob missing from a lamp that makes it cock-eyed (my OCD went crazy) and the handle on the wardrobe is missing a screw and it twisted, just a couple little things for maintenance, that's all. read more

Yes Crowne Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront is truly an oceanfront hotel. Yes, you can walk down to the beach and enjoy the sunrise, which I actually did one morning. But how was my experience at the hotel? Well I first got there it was around 8 Pm, the whole checkin took longer than expected. Once I got my room card I proceeded to my room which was away from the main building. The room wasn't that great and was in need of update and renovation. I didn't try the food at the restaurant onsite but I did enjoyed a complimentary cup of coffee before I headed out for business. The staff were courteous but I feel they were not as accommodating as they could have. Ultimately I think the hotel was ok. It won't be my first choice in Melbourne. As expected my rating for this Crowne Plaza hotel is only 3-star. read more

Went there for a couple days for our 14th year wedding anniversary. Thought it would be a nice staycation since we live an hour south and it was right on the ocean and I've had great experiences with Crowne Plaza in other states. I was wrong. This place was disgusting. Not much to say, I'll add pics of the bed sheets that we had to change on our anniversary because apparently it's too much for housekeeping. Badly maintained, dirty and liquid spillage on the bathroom door, toilet was not cleaned ( use your imagination on that one). Not worth the cost for the way it was not taken care of. THIS IS NOT A RATING ON THE ROOM! I have never stayed at this hotel. I have been here a few times. It seem's like a favorite spot of companies to hold hiring events and job fairs. The conference rooms always seem nice, they are clean and the hotel seems to provide free ice water as well. Out back they have some really nice views of the beach. As far as beach front hotels go, this one covers all of the essentials. It is right on the beach, decent in-house restaurants, ocean view rooms, gym, simple pool, and hot tub. Other room amenities include a microwave and mini refrigerator. During tourist season or weekends their main parking lot may be full so you'll have to park across the street and walk over the overpass to get to the hotel. They also provide toiletry items if you happen to have forgotten them at home (shaving cream, disposable razor, comb, toothbrush and toothpaste). You'll probably and up driving to pick some stuff up, but it is close to a Wal-Mart and Winn Dixie so you can load up on snacks and booze. You can also catch their happy hour Monday thru Friday and grab some discounts on drinks and appetizers. It is walkable to Blue's Lou, which is a pretty laid back and fun bar, that takes about 15 min to walk to there. If you go there on a Monday be sure to play a game of Dirty Bingo! A few set backs that knocked it a little bit down was the location in comparison to some of the more touristy things around here. Nonetheless, if you just want the beach then you'll be happy at this spot! read more

I had an oceanfront room. It was breathtaking. Three nights was not enough, I wanted more and am planning to go back soon. Shopping & Restaurants nearby. Parking is $10 a night. worth it. First the great: 1. The location is beautiful. The hotel is right on the beach. The views from the north side hotel rooms are really nice. 2. The restaurant is situated in front of the ocean, so it's a beautiful spot for dining. 3. The hotel has been updated since our last visit. 4. We had 2 breakfasts meals and 1 dinner meal at the restaurant. The dinner was quite delicious. The not so good: 1 Both breakfasts were underwhelming. The food available at the breakfast buffet was so disappointing. The staff tried hard to help everyone, but the volume of people outweighed their ability to serve (a management issue). We had vouchers for the buffet, but we would have expected much more if we had paid $14.95 per person. I understand that we are in Covid times and things are difficult, though. 2. The room was just ok. Our a/c made a lot of noise, the TV didn't work, the toilet didn't work the first night (which they fixed late in our 2nd day)- nothing too major but sub-par quality for a Crowne plaza. Stayed 2 nights. $581 supposedly at discount due to a class reunion. NOT a bargain. The room was nice but no couches or table with chairs in the room. When the room was serviced, they left no new Kuerig coffees cartridges. only 2 to begin with. Starbucks downstairs was over $4 for a medium coffee. No continental breakfast. You must purchase breakfast at almost $18 dollars a person. They charge $20 dollars a day for valet parking besides the expensive room cost. Never used the valet except to arrive and leave. Paid $40 extra for that. Cocktails were roughly $11.00 for well vodka. Again, super nice hotel but expensive for everything. read more

The view and the room made our trip even more amazing! Our room had a huge wrap around patio. When I come back I really hope to get the same suit!!!! I loved the double doors in opposite rooms of the suit to go to the outside patio, so beautiful and relaxing to leave the doors open to the patio to listen to the ocean all night. I was pleasantly surprised with my stay for Memorial Day weekend. The property looks to be newly renovated. The rooms were nice and there is great vanity lighting in the bathrooms. The beds and bedding are also pretty comfortable. Pool is a little small but everything seemed nice and clean. They also had live music and you can rent loungers on the beach right off the property. Staff seemed nice and there's also a gym, Starbucks, restaurant, and gelato shop on the property. I would definitely stay again. If you're looking for a nice relaxing weekend at the beach at an affordable price, this is a great option. read more

My husband was sent for work to Melbourne and was placed in this hotel. I of course tagged along because I am not one to pass up a vacation. The hotel is right by the beach which is big plus. You can rent equipment such as umbrellas and seats to spend the whole day at the beach and I believe the cost is $25 for all day rental. They also have a restaurant and a bar which overlooks the ocean. Very nice for lunch or a sunset dinner. Bands do come in from Wednesday night through Sunday night. They usually start playing around 5 pm to 10 pm. During this time you do see the locals coming in for a fun time. The restaurant had options to choose from but I was not a big fan of their food. I am from El Paso Texas do I'm used to Mexican food with lots of flavor. The rooms are very small not what I am used to but I was not paying for the room can't complain. The maids do a good job in cleaning your room. Pool service would of being a big plus!! Since there are always kids in the pool. Overall I was happy with my stay!! read more

I can say as a Platinum Member, I have a fair number of IHG stays under my belt. This place is dated. The staff are excellent. The king bed was super comfortable. The outdoor dining/bar experience was excellent despite some very noisy guests, which is to be expected at an ocean side tourist bar. The room was very quiet. The check in was great. Sounds like an easy 4 star place to enjoy. The final impression was such a turn off that the stay value to me crashed to a one angry star. Other reviewers have complained about this same goodbye slap in the face. They have visitors by the balls when it comes to parking overnight. The fee is now $20.00, obligatory Valet parking. The Valet told me I had to pay online at checkout through a link send by cell message. I wanted to pay it through my hotel bill but was told not possible. I wanted to pay cash and again told not possible. I went to their payment site, and was disgusted to see that the the excessive coerced payment of $20.00 would not release my car! They were shaking me down for an extra 15% service fee of $3.00. Well, after two failed attempts to pay online, the Valet accepted my $20 cash and I was able to leave without being fleeced for that service fee. After driving off, I realized that the paper tags attached to my car rental keys was missing. I called and was told they could not locate them. Five minutes later, I was called and told a tag was found on the sidewalk, lost by the valet taking my key en route to my car. Another 30 minute ride back. There was at least one other paper tag never found. They returned my $20. Face it IHG, this is no Crowne Plaza fancy place. They sold off parking rights to a separate company that is pissing off guests. Crowne Plaza advised me to complain to the Car Park Company! Not cool. Time to offer the true and tried Holiday Inn experience with free self parking and perhaps optional paid Valet parking. And if guests must pay, stop that BS additional so called Service Charge. Not rushing back to a place that screws guests on their departure. read more

Went there this morning to eat breakfast. The view on the restaurant patio is paradise!!! Unfortunately the food and service were awful. I was one of few customers there. Waiting to be seated and host just ignored me. I reached out and asked if I can get a table. Took my order promptly and was very pleasant. Ordered pancakes and bacon. The food came out without the bacon because they messed up order. Promptly brought bacon and it was perfect. Unfortunately when I tried the pancakes they were uncooked in the center. The server never returned so I didn't get to tell him. Disappointed with the restaurant. Gave 2 stars because the view was so amazing. read more

It was a little run down from the outside but we had a great time! The front desk staff was friendly, rooms were clean and updated, ice machines were full and the pool chairs were comfy. There are chairs and umbrellas to rent on the beach but we opted for something different. We went to Walmart (less than a mile away) and bought beach chairs, beer and a cooler bag and walked right on to the private beach with them no problem. Parking was also easy and only $10! Had to walk further then wanted. Checked in room on 8th floor, Elevators would not go to the 8th floor, on elevator 30 minutes could not get off, went to front desk, maintenance man Author helped me, we went to 7th floor and steps to 8th floor room. Changed room to 4th floor, not healthy enough to walk 8 floors every time I leave room. New Room 415, smell from the window air unit, had bad odor coming out of it, like urine. I asked front desk but they said only room they had. I had them spray the room with some smell good spray. 12/10/2022- Go to pool area to relax, in afternoon the bar outside had a one man band playing music, so loud you could not hear anything in the pool area, trying to listen to my audio books, I asked front desk could they have the volume turned down some, it did not happen, I left pool. I go back to room and bugs on light stand next to my bed and my bed crawling, I called front desk to spay, since I had no other option to get another room. And I got this room thru American express and no refund. Took pictures of the bugs. Asked people cleaning the rooms to spay again with good smell in the room, because the order from the unit so bad. The evening I try to sleep in room, and the loud music from the bar outside was bouncing off the walls of the hotel, made my heart beat weird. Again I asked front desk to see if could turn down some, no deal. Other guests was not happy either with he loudness. 12/11/2022 - 12/12/2022 Bugs on the dresser in morning, so I spayed hair spray on them.Put up with the smell, and had room service people spay it again. Other - water pressure was 0, pay to park $17.00 per day outside in a fire station across a busy 4 lane road to get to, breakfast buffet (water scrample eggs, meat dried up, tasted bad for $17.00). Hallways smell awful..the parking is the deal breaker. There is almost zero parking and starting Saturday you will be forced to use Valet. The lot is across the street and you will pay even if get the car yourself. I can guarantee long wait times when it gets busy. The man bridge to get back or to parking..3 flights of stair.. awesome. I will never be back. The guy behind me said the same thing. The bar/grill is nice but understaffed. The rooms are.nice.. but the musty smell is everywhere throughout the halls. Average. This place is the definition of average. Husband + I were recommended to come here and from the pictures online, we had high hopes (when we shouldn't have). GOOD THINGS FIRST: It's a nice place. I felt safe during my entire 5 night stay. Staff was friendly enough + helpful. Rooms are clean, modern, and really well lit with lots of outlets (USB too!!) The bed was super comfy and pillows not too firm or too soft. Even had a like keurig machine with coffee mugs! There were two comfy spots to do laptop work or something. And the food at the restaurant are pretty good, over priced, but really tasty. The pool was really nice. The seating area outside overlooks the ocean which is also really nice! They have some cute outdoor patio furniture which I was able to relax but get work done as well. Super easy access to the beach. Not so good stuff Couldn't see through our window + the handle to the little patio outside was practically corroded from the sea air. The curtain to give ourselves privacy is SUPER LOUD. At one point, I had left the do not disturb sign because I was working on things. When I knew I would be out for a wile, I went to the front desk to ask if they can have the room made + give us fresh towels, the man said okay and made it seem like he made it happen. After a long afternoon + evening, we came to our room never being made and no fresh towels. Restaurant experience is a whole different review (not that it is terrible) but it is its own yelp review account thing so I will review their. But I will tell you this: AROUND 10 AM THEY TAKE AWAY THE COFFEE FROM BREAKFAST! Who does that?! It's still morning! I NEED my coffee. read more

The hotel staff is very nice, if disorganized (for example we arranged late checkout with the front desk but that was never communicated to the cleaners, which resulted in a confusing walk in). The hotel looks more like a converted motel, since the halls are actually outdoors. We thought we'd have a balcony based on the photos, but instead we had a door next to the elevator, overlooking the pool (which was full of 50+ middle school baseball players). This meant pulling the blinds tightly shut and killing any chance of pleasant ambience in our room. They do have a nice tiki area facing the beach, which was pleasant to sit under watching the waves. The toilet behaved like it had a pressure washer in it, which is startling if effective. The shampoo and conditioner didn't do anything for some reason. The door wouldn't open or close easily, or on its own. You had to really force it (room 360). I wouldn't stay there again personally. read more

Great vacation spot! Checking in was so easy and front desk staff was very friendly. Beach access was perfect. Very clean hotel and plenty of space in the rooms. We had a beach front view and loved waking up to that! Air conditioners worked great, Starbucks and gelato in the hotel a plus! Most of all when we asked for a pool towel (none were out yet as it was only 9am) the maintenance man very kindly went and grab us 2 clean towels and acted happy to do so. I haven't stayed in this hotel, but I frequently dine in their lovely outdoor deck which overlooks the ocean. This hotel has one of the best views of the ocean that I have seen since moving to Melbourne. The outdoor seating area has tables with umbrellas. They have live music frequently, and some couples will dance. There is also a small boardwalk with stairs to give you direct ocean access. They have a full bar and have specialty drinks at certain times, usually in the afternoon and evening. If you like Bloody Mary's they make a fabulous one with skewered shrimp. You get your cocktail and appetizer all in one. The food is decent, but pricey. They serve breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast can be ordered off the menu or they have a brunch. I will continue to frequent this restaurant because I enjoy Ocean front dining so much. This restaurant meets all of my needs, and I always have a great time. read more

I'd love to use a towel but, oh, they don't have any clean ones. And one of the elevators just broke. I've stayed at Holiday Inns that were way nicer than this place. Unless you're coming for Jazz Night, then pass this place up for sure. On our way back from a great beach vacation in South Florida and was looking to break up our drive home with a stop in Melbourne. Wish we didn't prepay...or we'd already be on our way home. Stayed here for two nights on business back in Oct'2010 and enjoyed the stay for the following reasons: - Great location right on the beach - Hotel bar with deck (again, right on the beach) - Friendly staff (at check-in, hotel restaurant for breakfast, bar) - Free snack at check-in - Rooms have a balcony Although the room visually looks nice, it feels somewhat old and dated, the bed was not overly comfortable, and the A/C is loud. I did not sleep well either nights here. The room photos that were not uploaded by me do represent the room, with one major exception, that being the door to the balcony. Mine was not a sliding glass door, but instead, an old, rusted metal door that did not fully shut or lock (meaning if you pulled back on it, it would slide open!). We did not enjoy the food or the beach as much I as enjoy the food/beaches of the treasure coast ( stuart, jensen beach, jupiter etc). The hotel itself was ok, but the pool area was radioactive hot with no breeze, few loungers, the pavers would burn your feet if you walked barefoot! I rented a chair by the beach and it was worth it, but enter the ocean at your own risk. Their is hidden coral and you can fall and easily get roughed up or even cut. I avoided the ocean. Luckily we stopped at Publix the night before so I did not have to rely on the restaurants of the hotel. The bed was fine. The bathroom too. We just were unimpressed with the area and the restaurants are terrible! read more

The Syrah we chose was horrible. Cheese plate was the highlight of the meal. Tuna tartar lacked any flavor at all. I ordered a steak and was initially impressed. Then a couple hours later I found my self in the bathroom regretting the entire meal. As I was sitting on my throne I googled the restaurant and was not surprised to find that they have had close to 100 violations over the past year.
