I had a great time at a convention here last weekend! The room was clean, well stocked with towels, pillows and extra blankets. The hotel staff was very pleasant and I loved Eric the Bartender who took great care of our group during this event. The buffet dinners for the staff provided by the hotel were actually really good and very tasty. The servers were lovely. I was TOTALLY disappointed by the restaurant for brunch though. When we arrived at 9:30 the buffet breakfast was cold and had been there a while. The eggs were dry, the bacon was rubbery at best, the french toast was bullet proof...you get it. Overpriced for poor quality. The gym was in a temp place but had a tv and all the machines, balls, yoga mats, etc. And free water so that's nice. Overall, great stay and a pretty good price for a convention hotel. We paid $123/night for the convention special price. Oh yeah and free wifi, a free shuttle to the airport and the shuttle would take you to anywhere within 5 miles of the hotel. I asked them to take me to the grocery store to pick up some food for the weekend and the driver waited with me for about 15 minutes while I shopped and took me back! I would give it 3 stars.... BUT the hotel neglected to inform us the pool and one of the restaurants were going to be under construction and we wouldn't be able to use them. A main selling point for this place was to use the pool. The best part about the other restaurant was the outstanding, enthusiastic bartender Mike. The food, aside from the delicious pizza, was over priced and mediocre at best. It's more like a big fancy motel than a nice Hotel. Thanks for a less than exciting experience. The ease of ordering left a tremendous impression that'll last for a lifetime. I didn't care for the menu so I requested what I would normally have with a glass of white wine. Checked in found out will not give you points if you do not directly book through website. So what's the point of having rewards if only staying here for work? Clearly this is not a hotel for people who are in town on business. There are no microwaves or refrigerators in the rooms. Upon entering my 1st room I was doing my usual check, pulling back the sheets found two different black hairs. At first called down to have sheets changed then began to think about it and decided to switch rooms. When I spoke to front desk no apologies where given. Just that sometimes the cleaning crew forget to wear their "things" on their hair. Second room entered began my usual check. No hair in the bed just in the bath room. I mean come on. The heat is sooo loud. When it turns on sounds like someone/thing was dropped on hardwood floors. Woke me up throughout the night. Only thing nice about this place is the gym which kind of looks new. The doors to enter your room barely work. They do offer a shuttle which is nice. The hotel is also right next to the high way and you can hear every car drive by because the windows are so old they no longer seal. If you stand next to them (I was here in winter) you can feel how cold it is outside with out even turning on the weather channel. Because once you turn the tv on you'll find that half of the channels have no signal. read more

Booked hotel way in advance. Upon check in was told there was a party that night with a tent outside window. They would wrap up by 9 Not a problem since I was meeting friends and not coming back till midnight. Fast forward 2 days and they have music blaring. Call front desk. They have a party that will go until 11pm. The front desk told me they would look to get a different room. Then proceeded to hang up on me. About 15 min later the manager calls. No other rooms available but they will give me a free breakfast . No that's not was told to me when I checked in. Why would you put people who are not partying with this tent party in the room closest to it? Why would you let it disrupt your other paying guests? Why didn't you inform me so I could have made a decision to go to another hotel? Will never stay here again. Should have known it was a bad decision to stay here when the first night I was getting on the elevator and an over served bar patron dumped her drink right in front of me on the elevator. read more

This place is an absolute RIPOFF. I had to do a show here and was charged $159 a night for a room which is totally understandable. Now the problem is they nickle and dime you for EVERYTHING. We needed to get a bed removed from the room - $350 - thats the price of a cheap mattress. They charge you that just to remove it from the room for a few days. We needed a sheet- $10 a night. This place will just charge you for EVERYTHING they can. They make you pay way more for everything. read more

Run the other way. A most unprofessional company and I am personally very dissappointed. Let me start by saying that my husband & I did stay there for a weekend in August, 2012. A pretty and clean place- and we decided to pursue booking a block of rooms there for our son's wedding next August, 2013. We also decided to host a post wedding breakfast there for all of the guests (about 100-125). Early September, we spoke with group/events person and arranged for all, they sent us a "contract" and cards to enclose in our "save the dates". They told us that we could NOT make any specific reservations until October 1st. We gave our entire family all of this info- everyone was set to call on October 1st for reservations. On Sept 27th at 6:30 PM, we received an email. AN EMAIL. The email told us that our block of rooms were no longer. When we called them the morning of the 28th, we were told that someone took the entire block of rooms: * How could someone else have made the reservations before Oct 1st, but we couldn't? * Why couldn't they have called us before booking the other party and asked us to make our reservations before them? * Didn't we deserve at least a phone call instead of an email? Oh, but the Crowne Plaza told us we could still have the breakfast there! I think NOT! I tried calling a corporate number and was told that the individual hotel had to handle issues like this. I will never again stay at a Crowne Plaza. We estimate that our family, with rooms, and breakfast, dinners, bar tabs, etc, would have been close to $10,000. It is their loss- and I wish them nothing less than an empty hotel. read more

Very clean. Nice size rooms. There was no hot tub and the heated pool was cold. The pool area and furniture is dated. Check in was smooth. I did need to have maintenance come twice. Once to fix the door and again to fix the a/c. He was excellent and practically ran to my room! (Martin). Housekeeping was prompt and did the room in the morning. Overall a nice stay. read more

Had worst stay ever at crown Plaza hotel in Warwick RI .Had heavy rain this past weekend and being a dog friendly hotel there where wet dogs everywhere...lounge, elevator, every floor . They are not confined to any one area . I have asthma and that many wet dogs all over the hotel were a problem.Hotel does not offer coffee in the lounge at anytime , Just a coffee pot in your room .As I enjoy coffee that was a problem . Seems there is a language barrier with A number of staff they could only say no Compendia when asked anything . Lots of noise and kids running up and down the halls late in the evening . Tried to get a newspaper but was told they no longer have newspapers . Would not recommend this hotel or ever stay there again ! read more

This hotel is a dingy, outdated mess. Our first morning there was no hot water, and a call to the lobby resulted in a promise to send "an engineer" right up. Almost an hour later, as we were heading out the door, someone finally showed up but by then it was too late. There was almost no hot water that evening either. The ice machine on our floor was broken too. And there is no refrigerator in the room, though apparently they're willing to rent you one for an extra fee. The staff is uninformed and untrained - an example was asking at the front desk where the pool was, and being told there was no pool. The hotel is very nice, the front desk clerk wasn't very personable or energetic but it was a 9pm check in. The room was nice but by the time i settled in it was close to 10pm and took my shoes off for the first time. Apparently the rugs were shampooed which is great but someone should have checked to see if dry before assigning it to me. At that point I was too tired and battling the flu to complain so I stayed. I now regret that because once settled in bed the fumes aggravated my symptoms. I had an early flight out in which the driver was very friendly, prompt and courteous. The beds are very comfy as well. This is the second time I've stayed at the hotel as I attend a convention there. This place is IMMACULATE. Our room was absolutely spotless. Every surface was gleaming. The room was very comfortable, especially the bed. The reason I gave the hotel four stars instead of five is the restaurant. Although the food is pretty good, they sometimes miss the mark with the service. This year we did not eat in the hotel, we went out. In spite of this, I would definitely stay here again. The keep the hotel from top to bottom in tip top shape. I look forward to returning next year. read more

A expensive turd to sum it up nicely. This hotel makes its profit from renting out their ball rooms and other space available to wedding parties as well as other events. The appearance of the hotel portraits luxury but rooms on the other hand are anything but luxury. The rooms don't even come with their own fridge to say the least. Pool is salt water and about the size of a puddle if compared to the size the hotel and the number of "party guests" you will be dealing with. Management is expected to dress super fancy but if you "THE GUEST" dare to leave your room wearing basketball shorts on the way to the gym beware you will be glared at as well as receive a occasional rude comment. Overall over priced, below standard pile of crap. Oh and the music playing outside at all times will make you want to jump in front of a car. Hotel was pretty clean, free wifi, no free breakfast. Also just to warn everybody room 230 has two peep holes in the door. The one towards the bottom of the door is reverse, so people can look into your room without you knowing. I had to put a sticker over it to block people from looking in. read more

I don't normally do this but we tried to deal with this as adults and a fair Bride and Groom who had a terrible experience and would not want any future couple to have to go through so many issues like we did! So Crowne Plaza so generously offered us to stay a night free or 3 $50 gift cards to their restaurant to replace our money lost and stress we went through. $150 dollars compared to the hundreds I'm sorry thousands they screwed us on! First problem we were told our vendors would have plenty of time as there would be no one booked in our room because it was a wedding. Two weeks before our wedding our DJ advised us that he was told he could come at 4:30 only one hour before our reception was to start. I spoke to Jessica who ensured me he would have plenty of time and that it was just a meeting that she was "hoping" would end early not very reassuring but she said to trust her so I did. I explained how our DJ had his booth, TV's, Speakers, lighting, and a photo booth to set up and needed more time. She then told me he actually had an extra hour then what she had told him and she would talk to him. Our cocktail hour started at 5:30, we were down the hall taking pictures and noticed the room was still full of people right up until 5:15! I was so stressed and upset watching my guest come in and my DJ scrambling around trying to get his stuff in while the crowd was piling out. Our DJ was supposed to be our entertainment for cocktail hour however he was busy trying to get everything else set up. The photo booth was still being put together as the guest came in (how embarrassing). I don't blame this one bit on the DJ as he was there ready to go at 2. Also our DJ has been in business for many years with 5 stars and never had this issue before and has never seen a venue book another event 1 hour (technically 15 minutes) before a wedding reception. We had hired a second photographer to take the pictures of the guys getting ready and then of the cocktail and reception room in which he was not able to do again as the room wasn't ready on time. If I could give this hotel no stars I would. I attend an event held at this hotel every winter. The past two years I have had a negative experience with this hotel. Last year I was running late to check in, I called ahead and said I was running late. I checked in around 1am. I got to my room, fell asleep. I was woken up to people knocking on my door and calling me on the room phone at 5am telling me I had to leave to move to a different room. No hotel staff helped me move and all I was given was one voucher to eat breakfast. Then this past year I made the mistake of leaving my toiletries in the bathroom. I left a $200 electric razor and my travel toiletries bag. It was impossible to get ahold of anyone to help me and when I finally did, they were "unable to locate it." I drove my own car to this hotel, I know I left these items in the hotel room. I know it was my own fault for leaving my belongings but still I received no help in finding my razor or bag. The customer service is seriously lacking in this hotel. read more

Although most Crowne Plazas seem to be run down and dingy, this one is a pleasant surprise. Its updated, clean, and nice in the lobby, bar/lounge, and rooms. The actual restaurant, however, looks like classic Crowne Plaza: the 80's called and want their decor back. Its quite grim. If you have to eat here, I recommend the salads. Everyone in my party seemed to like them as well. The other food I've eaten here has been fairly poor. The $19 breakfast buffet lacked much of anything. I would give it a fair market value of $4. Its a collection of what looked to be frozen pastries, cereal, some hot pans of meat and potatoes, and they'll cook some eggs. I asked for poached. After 20 minutes, I knew I'd ordered the wrong thing. When they arrived in 30, the leathery eggs are exactly what happens when you pour a LOT of vinegar into the pot, and that's just how they smelled. All vinegar. I'm guessing the cook looked up on the internet the basics of how to poach eggs and tried his best. I would have gone back and shown him but I had to go. I had their staff favorite chicken parmegian. All I can say is that its one enormous hunk of chicken. Bland, no seasoning whatsoever, and who knew tomato sauce could have so little flavor. Not being able to do a marinara sauce in RI is like not knowing how to make grits in Georgia. I'm not sure if you blindfolded somebody and gave them a taste of this sauce that they would know tomatoes were involved in it. Eating the chicken parmegian is really a matter of how much you can endure. There's nothing off-putting about it, but there's nothing about it worth eating either. I stayed at Crowne a couple months ago. I had an excellent experience. When my boyfriend and I arrived, we were greeted very nicely with a big smile. The room we stayed in was clean, spacious, and comforting. We stayed there during the time that there was a corporate party, and while basketball players were staying. However, we were never disturbed or bothered by noises or people. Our stay was very peaceful. The best part was their breakfast. I have been to many different hotels, this was by far the best breakfast. There's a very cute breakfast set up and a waitress. There's an omelette station, and different selections of foods and juices. I was one happy girl. I was sad to leave that morning, however I will be going back tomorrow.... where I will update my review to see if anything has changed. Crowne plaza is by far the best hotel that I have stayed at. And just to mention, the very next day I had gotten lost, and ended up taking many wrong exits because my phone died (I was using gps). Ironically, the first place I saw was crowne plaza. I went in and asked the front desk if they had a phone charger, because I was lost and didn't know how to get to my destination. The man at the front desk was nice enough to let me use his personal charger so I could call someone to get directions! I was very pleased with their customer service.
