We thought with all the great reviews this would be an amazing hamburger but it was cold and at best mediocre. We think they forgot the fried mushroom order and set our burgers aside. We wished we had stopped at Burger King. 2 burgers, milkshake, 1 medium Diet Pepsi, mushroom and 1 order of fries cane to $29.11 and that was robbery. And refills cost. It's nice that many of these reviews are nostalgic about working here in the past but think about a $30 tab and what a customer should get for that amount. I would have happily paid for a great burger but I'm not coming back. Recently I read a study about Yelp. A good review can raise revenues as high as 25-40%. A bad review can reduce revenue with typically no chance of gaining that customer back. I don't like to give bad reviews but I'm being honest. read more

Stopped in for a bite on the way through town. It was a first visit for us at this place. The food wasn't bad... maybe a bit on the steep side but good. It's an older building and the inside is functional but could use a a bit of TLC. Service was good as well as quick. While we sat there eating a couple came in and I didn't see exactly what happened but a milkshake was dumped at the counter. The server replaced it immediately and the counter was wiped off. I didn't see it get cleaned up off the floor. Maybe that were short staffed or something. If I make it back into the area I'll give it another try. Hopefully I can add a star. read more

We have been here twice and were disappointed both times. The service was in no way friendly -- the girls there seemed annoyed they had customers. I ordered a philly cheese steak both times I went here, and the second time when I got home with my food it was on A HOT DOG BUN. The cheese steak is a $7 item, it should be MUCH larger-- on a hoagie roll. It would make sense to inform the customer if you are out of something that is being ordered... not just using whatever is lying around. We spent nearly $40 here!! It is WAY too expensive for the quality of food and service you get, especially since you have to order the fries separately! I have never been to a small town diner that does not include fries with their burgers/sandwiches. I can't think of anything redeeming to say... This place needs serious work, or perhaps just a better crew. I do not like leaving bad reviews at all, but I truly felt like I wasted my money here... We always stop here for a burger when driving through on our way to the coast. I love their turkey burger the best. It is huge and super juicy. Best I've ever had! Also love the fries and they have great fry sauce. Can't pass through Montesano without stopping here! You have to check them out. Be prepared for a wait though. So me and my girlfriend when Into The Crows Nest this was a big restaurant when I was a kid and I always love their food came in today and we went in to order a couple Deluxe baskets and the cashier was very friendly went above and beyond and when we sat to have our food brought the food out and he was making sure the dining room was clean and he was just making sure everybody he had the greatest customer service and it seem like all of the co-workers had fun doing their jobs I'm glad to come back and see that this restaurant is doing so successful and the food is still as good as it was years ago it brought back memories thank you so much Crows Nest we will be back again and I tell everyone who hasn't ate their come on over to Montesanos crows nest read more

Stopped here for a quick brunch while driving through. The guy behind the counter was extremely friendly and really polite with good recommendations. We had a Fishwich and a Veg Burger along with fries and a milkshake. Both sandwiches were really good, absolutely fresh and full of flavor. The fries were hot and perfectly crisp on the outside and light and flyffy inside. The fry sauce was superb. The only thing that disappointed was the milkshake. It just didn't taste very nice. Overall a great place for a quick bite of delicious and fresh food. I'd recommend it and gladly stop here again. read more

I love this place. The fishwich is the best I've ever had. They always make me my double cheeseburger as a lettuce wrap. The staff is very friendly. They have a drive thru as well. The only reason why I four starred is because they are overpriced. They should give you better prices when you get a combo. The menu online and what I was charged for did not match. It was very frustrating. We didn't receive an itemized receipt either so honestly I have no idea what I paid for. My chicken burger was flat and the lettuce was wilted and brown; very little care put into this order - which makes me concerned about their safety practices, especially during a pandemic. We love the Crows Nest and stop every time we are headed to the beach. We have for years and always recommend the same to family and friends. Today we stopped and the young girl working (small build, glasses, lots of ear piercings, dark hair) was incredibly rude and condescending. She was rude enough I was ready to leave and say forget it on our order. Typically the staff is super friendly and kind. She needs more training. read more

We don't go for the mega-conglomerate franchise places. If you want that, go to "McWendy King". Our burgs were great, bacon cheeseburger deluxe basket, with fries, and cheeseburger basket with onion rings and butterscotch shake. I love it when they know what "deluxe" and "basket" mean. also serving sizes were big. Big full sized burgers with real bacon and cheese with large bag of steak fries and properly cooked onion rings. Gal taking order was great. They were running orders out to cars and cleaning and sweeping. She rushed our drinks out after making the cold creamy shake. And how rare is a butterscotch shake? Please enjoy the crows nest type drive-ins, as most are now gone. We always look for the local drive-in. This place is a winner. read more

Pulled up to this old school drive up window and greeted by the sweetest girl! We only stopped for milkshakes and a "baby sundae" but we will definitely go back! They are loved by YELPers too! Every time I visit the old man in his new retirement digs out in Long Beach, this place gets a visit. Its a Gem for sure. All I have ever had is from the burger menu though they do have sandwiches and Mexican items too. The fries are always prepared especially for me. At least I like to think so. They always come piping hot with that wonder lust combination that makes the perfect roadside potato fry. Golden crunchy exterior and deliciously smooth interior. OK, OK, OK... getting carried away there. They do leave the salt off so one can salt to taste. I really dig on that. Burgers are always perfectly cooked with a hint of seasoning and put together with the right amounts of iceburg lettuce, tomato, onion, and cheese if ordered. On this particular visit, I'd give only 2 stars but based on my combined experiences here, I gave 3 stars. On this visit, the drive-thru was pretty slow, which seems to be the norm and is extra aggravating when you've got a screaming baby in the car. I was disappointed to learn that they no longer carry the teriyaki chicken burger, although it is still listed on the menu. I ordered the regular chicken burger instead, which didn't even come with the option of grilled or crispy (it was crispy, btw). When I finally got to the window, the girl handed me a bag and said "Have a nice day." 1) I hadn't even paid yet, and 2) I ordered a water and didn't get it. I had to ask for my water and, since I'm honest, I paid the lady. All would've been forgiven if the burger had been awesome. Sadly, it was just your typical breaded chicken patty on a white sesame seed bun. It came with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. It hit the spot, but it wasn't really worth the hassle (or the high price). On the upside, they do have delicious malts and milkshakes, and the owners seem to only hire high school kids, which is pretty cool since a lot of business owners demand their employees come with experience. read more

Perfect place to stop for grub on your way to the coast. The crow's nest special burger is topped with thinly sliced fried ham. Mmmmmm. Lots of goodies included to make a decadently messy meal. Delicious fries - never does the fry oil taste or smell anything but fresh. The milkshakes alone are a reason to stop. Many flavors. The pineapple and butterscotch are standouts. After seeing how many other former workers have reviewed the Crows Nest, I felt compelled to add my two cents also. I worked for the Papac's back when I was a teenager, and truly enjoyed the experience. The food is great and you can always expect to find most of your favorites when you stop by, even if it has been awhile. My favorites are the fish burger - soft bun, crispy on the inside; hot, fresh, white fish inside a ultra-crispy batter. Very tasty. And of course the fries with their homemade fry sauce. Thick, golden fries dipped in a mayo/ketchup/etc sauce. yum. The Crows Nest Special is a deluxe cheeseburger with grilled thin sliced ham, and that is a nice treat if you are looking for something different. They have awesome milkshakes, and also scoop ice cream in many different flavors. They used to give you scoops big enough to feed the whole family - not sure if that is still happening. My all time favorite was the mocha shake, which was a chocolate shake with two shots of espresso in it. I think their espresso machine broke years ago, however, and don't believe it is on the menu anymore. :'( Great place to stop on the way to the beaches. Paid $5 for stale nacho chips with nasty cheese in drive thru came back to let them know their chips were stale the manager came out said they would remake it with the same chips (wth really) or give a refund. No apology was very gruff like it was my fault her chips were stale. No burger place compares, I mean, there are great places in CA and all, but it's not the same homemade taste. My favorites include: The Cheeseburger Deluxe with everything, and grilled onions. Criss Cut Fries - or Tots - with Fry Sauce The Mozzarella Sticks or Deep Fried Mushrooms.
