Who eats here?? First of all, when you try to go to their website, the link takes you to a place in Florida. Also, you can't find menu information anywhere. This is listed online as a seafood restaurant, but it looks like they only serve pizza? Lastly, look at the reports from the health department before you go. They don't clean their food prep/cooking surfaces that well and they don't protect you from cross contamination. read more

Had to try this highly recommended dive bar on our vacation. The ocean view is from a distance, and above a trailer court but nonetheless ocean. The bar has standard drinks, cheap prices, a friendly bartender and really good french fries. Just don't mix them with too much beer! There was some gambling, we didn't partake. People raved about the pizza, but I had a shrimp cocktail which was a big cardboard tray of baby bay shrimp covered in classic red cocktail sauce. Not fancy, but satisfying. Two rum and cokes, two beers, hubby and I toddled out and down the road to dinner. Not a scary place, would certainly go back for drinks anytime. Food, perhaps not. read more

Hell yeah this is a dive bar. If you love dive bars even half as much as I do, you have to go here. We stopped by during a backpacking trip down the oregon coast and they were perfectly happy to accommodate three grown ass men that hadn't showered in sometime and had 40L backpacks. We really just wanted some drinks but after seeing the food menu, we had to order some. We got the fish and chips and the fried mushrooms and loved all of them. The real shocker came when we asked for hot sauce. We were expecting the regular cast of Tabasco and maybe if we were lucky one other one. Instead we were given the choice of over 100 different hot sauces. What started off as a quick stop for a beer turned into an hour long hot sauce tasting extravaganza. You have got to be kidding me!!! With all the good reviews. It was filthy, random stuff everywhere, like a vacuum graveyard with 6 old dirty machines in a pile against the wall. I was almost afraid to eat the pizza I ordered. Notebooks and junk everywhere. And the pizza was sparsely covered on a premade crust. I would of done better getting a microwave one at the store. Well, talk about a Dive Bar!!! Great drinks!! A Local Yocals barfly hang out!!! But!! I'm surprised the health department has not closed it down, the place is so filthy dirty, talk about Mold, the ceiling has so much mold they've covered it with tarps!! When it rains, they have several buckets out catching roof leaks!! An OMG, the fish tanks, are so thithy dirty, can't even see thru them!!! Gross!!! Surprise any fish are even alive in them?? Crow's Nest is always solid. The bartender greets ya at the door. The best table is those closet to the window with a view of ocean. There are plenty of tvs for sports balls, keno and lotto. There is about 6 beers on tap, full liquor and bare fare. The pizza is always a good choice and the fish tacos are tasty. I usually stick with a local Arch Rock pale and a cheese pizza with jalapeños and pineapple. Pineapple does belong on pizza okay! read more

Holy crap, more of a crash than a dive bar. Obnoxious, rude female bartender older than... Hot, no fresh air in the place, distant view of the ocean, overpriced for its ambiance and decor, and service. One of only two bars in town, the other one isn't much better, and the bartender's reputation is known there as well. And even though the locals were entertaining, if I hadn't stopped to watch a soccer game, I would have left immediately. read more

Saw the many good reviews, so I thought I'd give it a try. I have no idea what these people were reviewing but this place was a complete disappointment. Beer was warm, ordered the beef tacos, no mention on the menu that they were street tacos. I don't have a problem with street tacos but it would've been nice to know that that's what I was ordering. Came with the hot sauce that my server warned me was super hot and a regular hot sauce. The super hot sauce was very hot but had no flavor, the other felt like it just came out of a can. My wife ordered the burger, just about the worst thing I've ever tasted. I guess tasted is probably the wrong word, since it had no taste, definitely a one and done destination. read more

Stopped at the Crow's Nest on our way back from the western rim of the Grand canyon. The place was comfortable and homey, the food good with generous portions. Our server was very pleasant, and went out of her way to accommodate us. I would certainly be likely to stop at this restaurant again. read more

We decided to check this place out. Wow, classic dive bar complete with a bear skin hanging on the wall, not quite displayed as hung up like someone's coat. Supposed to have the best pizza in town, and after reading some of the competition's review we went for the pizza. After sitting in the back at a table across from the multiple fish tanks filled with many nice fish. They have video poker games and a pool table. We switched to the front area at the bar for the beautiful view of the ocean. We were surrounded by locals and we're entertained by the scene. The bar was lively with Friday earliest, a birthday girl, talk of fishing in the Rogue river. The bar is full of "stuff" to look at. Pictures are following. The pizza was good, along with the beer. Will go again. Just wonder when they're scheduled for a deep clean. read more

The Crow's Nest is an absolute must for lunch when I enjoy my autumn trips to Gold Beach. I meet friends there that I haven't seen for a year and we have a wonderful reunion there. Yep, it's a dive bar. Yep, the restrooms are clean. The food is freshly made and everything was just as it should be. First of all, I believe there is a place for everybody no matter who you are....unfortunately this is not a place for me. I am sure it is a great place to hang out. I am sure the food skyrockets past the competition (several people told me it's the best pizza in town). And I am sure the drinks here are superb. But I also know that if you have no idea why minorities have any issues in our society then you should come here and be among others who think like you. In other words, my review is political, unashamedly. I met the owner and his wife...she seems quite nice. The discussions going on in the bar however were not. After listening to the owner's views I will exercise the same god given right he has to his opinion to take my business elsewhere..... Which is too bad, I really wanted to try the pizza. Besides, he charged me $2.50 for a club soda....25 cents more than the PBR I got at the Sea Star down the street. read more

Looking for an inexpensive dinner, we walked into this place we felt like we had come in the back/wrong door even though it was the entrance on the main street. We were greeted with a friendly hello from the kitchen and sat ourselves past the pool table and in the bar. The bartender greeted is with a smile and explained when we asked for a menu that it was written on the dry erase board. Looking around the old building, covered in a layer of dust we got a laugh at the bon mot including the one that read "Hippies use back door. NO EXCEPTIONS" I ordered a Bloody Mary that was sort of lacking even in a salted rim, but the food made me temporarily forget. I ordered the Reuben. My husband, being a burger addict, ordered the burger. Hands down the best Reuben I've ever had! They didn't have Thousand Island dressing and offered mustard which I don't typically care for. So the cook made me his delicious version of a thousand island dressing. The Reuben was hot and so delicious, that I only ate the lovely, worthy dressing because he made it special for me. The sandwich didn't need it at all though. Burger was amazing, too. I had a bite of it and the meat was seasoned perfectly and tastefully. This might feel like a typical hole-in-the-wall dive bar, but the food is definitely not typical bar food. I'd certainly return without hesitation. Oh. And enjoy the view!!! read more

When my friend found out that my fiance and I were going to spend a weekend in Gold Beach, she told me that I HAD to try the fish tacos at the Crow's Nest. The tacos were truly something special, especially when you drizzle the hot sauce over them. We stayed long enough to be serviced by two pleasant bartenders who kept us quite entertained with conversation about the history of Gold Beach, and served up generously poured drinks to wash the tacos down. Yelp made me give at least a star but not deserving from me! Heard they have taco Tuesday so stopped in. Our greating consisted of NO hello just a pussy attitude and what do you want to drink. Then she delivered an ice tea and water and said you will be charged one dollar for the water. I didn't have trouble with the charge it was the attitude. Even if a place is 5 stars you will never get my hard earned monies with this kind of attitude. read more

For an interesting unique ambiance in a small town bar, the Crow's Nest would come high on my list on the South Coast. Great view from the bar stools. High on my culinary recommendations at this bar I've eaten at many times would be the pizza, fish tacos, and 2fer Tuesday tacos for $1. No frozen crap served here. It's made from scratch by a chef that knows how to produce food people enjoy eating. Parking is around back so go downhill at the light and into the first alley. My experience at this particular bar kinda sucked. Left my camp spot for a few hours to catch the Ducks opener on TV. The bartender was rude, looked at you like you kicked her dog when you asked for another drink.
