been twice, both times waited more than an hour. i've sat down and it took an hour and thirty minutes to get a burger. my 13 year old sister was not allowed to get something off of the kids menu because the server said she's a year too old. i ordered to go another time and they said 30 minutes, i waited 2 hours. i do not recommend this restaurant. read more

Let me start this off with, I typically love visiting small restaurants. I was really looking forward to trying The Landing North as it was recommended by some locals. Upon arriving the parking lot everything smelled pretty good, which was great. We checked in and waited over 30 minutes to be seated, busy night no reservation totally understandable. Once seated we sat there for almost another 40 minutes before a waitress would even look our way. I understand things get busy but walking past a table that has been waiting without even an acknowledgment, offer for a drink, or even a comment of "we'll be right with you" was definitely disappointing. Like I mentioned earlier, I usually love supporting small restaurants. And the food smelled good so we stayed waiting. We finally order our food, by then another half hour has passed before we get our food, which was overall underwhelming. I ordered a filet mignon which honestly seemed more like a sirloin. The crust and cook on it was good, although the flavor was lacking. I enjoyed their vegetables and mash potatoes far more than the steak itself. My partner ordered a prime rib whose only saving grace was the au jus it was served with. Overall, we felt very disappointed with the service. The food was okay but I personally wouldn't return considering the price point. read more

Came in on a Saturday around 3pm. Only a few locals at the bar. Friendly staff and quiet atmosphere. The decor is random sea theme but kinda cool. Prices felt fair. I got a beer and the fish open face sandwich with sweet potato fries. The fries were nothing special. I think the sandwich would be great with the option to change the cheese type. I would love to try it with swiss cheese. The sandwich was good and tasted fresh very little seasoning so you really got to taste the fish and it was yummy. Nice big bathroom that was clean. Had such an amazing dinner with my family tonight. The food was amazing! I got the stuffed chicken, my mom got a steak, and my son got the burger. Everything was wonderful. The thing that made it over the top was our waitress. She was hilarious, great customer service, and really on top of things. She's better than a lot of servers I encounter back home in Vegas. I'd definitely come back, and I recommend this place a try as well. read more

Dining any where in GOLD BEACH is difficult. This restaurant was just awful. We popped in in the middle of the day, sat in the bar area....there were only 4 other parties in the entire restaurant. It took our server 10 minutes to greet us and take our order....it took another 15 minutes to get our drinks and another 15 minutes to get our food.....which was NOT GOOD. I understand that coastal restaurants are seasonal...however whoever owns this restaurant is missing an opportunity to provide a fun, clean, festive spot during the "season" The restaurant was dirty, service slowwwwwwww, food less than mediocre. We visited The Landing North in Gold Beach this weekend to celebrate our daughter's 16th birthday with her friends. We made reservations ahead of time and were excited for a special dinner, but unfortunately the experience fell short. The restaurant was extremely busy, which we completely understand, but the service was very lacking throughout the evening. We spent a lot of time waiting for assistance and overall felt overlooked. The food also did not match the high prices, which was disappointing considering the occasion. We always try to give grace when places are understaffed or overwhelmed, but many of the issues we experienced felt preventable with better organization and attention to guests. Sadly, based on our experience, we would not return or recommend the food here. read more

I was there for lunch on May 20th. It was a wedensday. I see the two previous poor reviews were over the busy memorial weekend. I think this place understaffs their wait staff. My server was Greg. I don't see how he could have done any better at being friendly, communication, kept my water full, brought the food in a timely manner, quick to receive payment, etc. I was there for the wagyu burger and was not disappointed. Dropped in late-ish on a Wednesday evening for dinner and both entrees were fantastic. I appreciated that they were open until 10pm. I ordered a steak, which is a simple meal that is easy to mess up. At The Landing North, the steak was cooked perfectly and the mashed potatoes were excellent. The rockfish picatta dish was also delicious and cooked perfectly in a light lemon sauce. The clam chowder is hearty and delicious, and the dinner rolls were soft and fluffy. Not only did we enjoy great food, the service was excellent and the ambiance of the restaurant was casual and inviting. I will return to this restaurant again and again! read more

We've eaten here many times before. However, last week we had an amazing meal. That was so good that we both ordered the same thing. It was chicken with an artichoke, spinach cream sauce. Finished with capers and it was so divine. We both took it home to enjoy it for days the meal came with soup or a salad. I had the chili which was fantastic and my friend had the clam chowder which he loved. They have wonderful soft rolls with a sweet butter and the service could not have been better. Our waitress was Danielle. She was superb. The mixologist was brilliant too. My partner had a scotch on the rocks and I had some kind of cranberry lemonade drink that was fantastic. For dessert. I convinced my friend to try the lemon cake because it is so extraordinary. It's a lemon cake made with lemon curd and it's just sumptuous. To sum it all up. My husband and I went to Gold Beach to do the jeri boat ride it was our anniversary so we went out to a fancy dinner the night before and then we decided to go get something to eat on our anniversary evening so this place was open and the bartender was great. She made some really good drinks, but but the food we ordered thumbs down we ordered cheeseburgers and it took an hour for us to get our food and when we got it, my husband's hamburger was pink and mine was not even hot. I would've said something right away, but we were so hungry that we went ahead and ate part of it. My husband didn't eat much of his which was unfortunate. The fries were OK. They were warm. She did take my husband's hamburger off the bill that was appropriated. It just was a bummer because we waited an hour and to get cold food :( only recommend going in for a mix drink that's about it . read more

this place was open late & after a long day of driving we stopped by here & were greeted by kate ! she was SO helpful & provided excellent service as well as some recommendations for our road trip tomorrow ! the food was delicious & full of flavor! i got the shrimp pasta which was very creamy & tasty :3 my husband got the wagyu burger & fries and the bun to meat ratio was exactly as it should be. This is the second review I've left. Shame on me for returning and HOPING it would improve. The waitress (Andrea) is the type you have to try to engage to make your dining experience pleasant, in the HOPE it will somehow improve the wait time and quality of the food. It doesn't. Whether it's the waitresses or the cook, this restaurant is shameful. Doesn't matter which it is...fix it. It's a shame because it COULD be the nicest place in town. It's not. Food? Mediocre. The salad was straight out of a cafe. No creativity. Mahi Mahi was ok, and the mango salsa was sub par. The local rock fish was in a Piccata sauce that was too tart and lemony with too much caper flavor. Service? See above. S-L-O-W with zero excuse. Unbelievable. Like they wait to see when the patrons start to get irritated and look around for the waitress before delivering the food to the table. I have eaten here multiple times and it's been the same way every time. A HOUR AND A HALF TO GET FOOD ON THE TABLE. I could've done better in my hotel room with the grill outside, and I'd encourage readers to do just that. There's a crucial period after about forty minutes when your food should be arriving, and it seems that Andrea takes that opportunity for a smoke break. Or maybe just a time out break for thirty minutes. No cross coverage, no checking in, no drinks, NOTHING during this time. The the food arrived finally with an excuse for its delay. Price? $75 for two main dishes and two sodas. Honestly folks, how do you stay in business? My "never again" is coming out. I'm not just disappointed, I'm angry. There is no excuse and I WANT this to be a nice restaurant. I WANT to will it to be better to get my business and it's just not. If there's a restauranteur in the readership, PLEASE open a competing restaurant like one might find in Brookings and put The Landing out of business. Do Not hire the wait staff, do not hire the line cook masquerading as a chef. Unfortunately I suspect the owners and staff could care less about my opinion. And yours, for that matter. Great food (apologies, it's always hard to get pics with our rambunctious crew!), nice mix of classy yet casual vibe and friendly service. We go to Gold Beach every year, and The Landing North is on our list of places to visit every time! Went for breakfast this morning, which they do on Saturday and Sunday. I had chicken fried steak, with eggs and red potatoes. Wife had half order biscuit and gravy with eggs on top. My steak was really good. Crunchy crust, I mean crunchy, but the meat was so tender. Wife said hers was great as well. $43 with tip. Nice ambience, service was good. She took it back and brought the same dish, after I requested no water, olive oil dressing. She walked away. I refused to eat it. They charged me for it. I refused to pay. They threatened me with a call to the police. I paid. They gave a discount. I gave her a $10 tip. All the employees I dealt with were kind. They need a new cook. I won't go back there. read more

The host and server were super friendly and accommodating with our young children, offering us a booth instead of a table so our son could sit with the adults instead of a high chair which made his day. My fiancé got the Mahi Mahi ceviche and as someone who doesn't like sea food much , I loved it! We both also got the bacon cheese burger and it was delicious.
