That being said the last two times I have been through there drive thru they always mess up my order I usually order with no pickles because I am allergic and for whatever reason they always contain pickles. I don't want to sound like that one disgruntled person, but upon seeing other reviews, I now know I'm not the only one who has received absolutely terrible service at this McDonald's. I went to the drive-through this morning at 1:30 AM, and was promptly asked if I was using the mobile app, to which I replied no. I sat there for 12 minutes, and the line behind me started to grow. i asked twice if there was somebody on the other side, and I received no response, so I left. Not great, not terrible, just ok. With the new remodel this McDonald's is hoping to polish their image. But...you can't polish a turd. That being said, I eat here occasionally and would enjoy coming back. I would appreciate better service, yes. And a shorter wait time. Especially when people that ordered after me are getting their order first. This is a busy location. They have at least 8 people working here. Only one is at the front register. And this person is not very attentive or customer service oriented in my experience. They now have a system of ordering whereby you can order on an app, a touch screen inside the restaurant, at the drive through or at the counter, and there are couriers picking up food for those who must not, or cannot leave the house. So they use a large printed number system on your receipt ticket. There is also a screen showing which order number is being served currently and which numbers are being prepared. Helpful, yes, but only if the numbers are actually used effectively does the customer benefit. Every other number I saw on that screen was called out as the order was presented. When my number was on the now serving side, I did not hear a number called, nor did anyone acknowledge that there was an order ready to go. I waited...I waited....I waited.... no number called, no "your order is ready," no eye contact. Finally, when no one came to the counter to call the number, and the register worker was free, I approached to ask about my order. "Oh, it's here," she said (bag sitting on counter, unattended), "I said Big Mac and fries." I'm thinking: Um, really? Because that is not my number, and I'm certain you did not say a word about it, because I did not see or hear anything from you. McDonald's seriously, if you are going to use a number system, be consistent. It's confusing enough with your billboard video menu, don't make things harder than they need to be for the customer, you know, the peo whose business you count on. read more

I ordered at the drive through. I asked for 1 Big Mac, 2 regular double cheeseburgers, a double cheeseburger without pickles and mustard, and a medium fries. The screen did not show my order, but the guy told me the total and said to pay at the first window. At the window, the person gave me a receipt that said everything correct except, it was short one regular double cheeseburger. I told him and he charged me for another double cheeseburger. I thanked him for straightening it out and proceeded to the next window. When I got home I had 2 double cheeseburgers without mustard and pickles. And one regular one. I used the app. It always takes longer than sitting in the drive though line, but I'd rather be in park. The quality is always hit and miss at this location. I don't typically care, because you'll probably get a similar experience at any McDonalds. This last experience was something new though. A gentleman kindly brought out the food. He even thanked me for wearing a mask. As he walked away we noticed the beverage was missing. I hollered after him and he returned. He apologized and said he'd be right back. A full 5 min go by, and I'm thinking how long could this take? I finally walk to the door to catch another employee as he runs food out. I explain I got the food but no beverage. And I was the only one in the app pick up spot. He said he had the drink sitting there, not sure where it went. He goes inside and passes the bev to a third employee on his way out the door. The third employee then tries to run my drink to a another car that was waiting from the drive through line. When I mentioned the situation to him, he asked to see proof of payment. Naturally, my phone with the app was in the car still.... he finally just gave it to me since 'he couldn't find who the other order was going to' and I was finally on my way. This McDonalds location at NE 122nd and Glisan was one of the very first McDonalds in Portland. As a kid in the early 60s, I went there with my family to get bagfuls of 15 cent burgers to go. Food had to be taken to go those days because this was just an outdoor walk-up counter without any seating. It was adorned with a pair of huge of Golden Arches. As far as we knew, these were the cheapest burgers in town, and were somewhat of a novelty. This place has undergone numerous remodelings and transformations over the decades, and I still go there once in a while. Not much definitive I can say about it. . .it's a McDonalds after all, and everyone knows what they're like. However, this location is spacious and clean and there are no bums or sketchy characters hanging around, so that's a positive. read more

This place has the most amazing shake machine. It breaks down every night. Conveniently around 10 or so. That's one thing, but to lie about it is another. We placed an Uber eats order which took them one hour to cancel order because....you guessed it, shake machine broken. My wife called at first they said, no problem we have shakes and they won't melt. Then our order was cancelled and on a hunch she called back and the machine that was working 20 minutes prior now had been broken since 2. Which was it? We don't know.
