It's located in the back across from the covered parking structure. Even though it was cold & foggy, there was a lot of foot traffic. We leisurely walked through the entire Saturday market in less than an hour. Thinking about all the farmers' markets I've been to, I'd say this is more affordable but has less variety. I saw a lot of aunties and uncles doing their grocery shopping. Our haul included fresh peanuts (which were huge!), purple long beans, and heirloom grape tomatoes (red & yellow). Side notes: 1.) Free parking inside Serramonte *Verdict: Worth a stop if you're in Serramonte on a Thursday or Saturday.

But my husband's co-worker mentioned to him that there is Kalamansi at the Serramonte Farmers Market, so I went. The Rivera stall has a lot of Filipino vegetables so if you need them, come by and make sure you go to their stall. They say that their kalamansi si year round, so for sure I am coming back. The most diverse local farmers market IMHO is at College of San Mateo on Saturday from 9:00-1:00. Much larger, but parking can be a bear, and it's not as close to us.

I also picked up a fresh Guinea fowl for only $18 and two razor clams (over 1 1/2 pounds each) for $18 each. I was lucky to get the last two! The vendors were incredibly friendly and provided excellent customer service. The poultry vendor recommended the Guinea fowl, and it was my first time trying it. I made soup with it at home, and the broth turned out rich, flavorful, and naturally sweet. The razor clams were exceptionally fresh as well. The market had a lively atmosphere, fresh products, great prices, and friendly vendors. I left with some amazing finds and couldn't be happier. Fresh, delicious, and a great value. I usually get them in the Thursday Daly City Farmer's Market but this is one of the Peninsula locations that sell on Saturdays. It was a very busy Saturday as there are surrounding businesses that are open on a busy street. I was able to find parking in an adjacent public parking lot so lucky me. I walked to the market and there it was so I snagged 10 Mushroom Empanadas. I asked the employee if they're made in-house or from another vendor and she said they're made in-house!! No wonder their crusts are so buttery and tasty! Afterwards, I walked next to their stall to Som Tum and saw a couple of packaged desserts. One was young Coconut with Coconut milk that you can pour on top and the other was the Mango Sticky Rice that you can top with the accompanying Coconut Milk and toasted Coconut. There are chilled Thai Iced Teas, Thai Iced Coffee and Thai Coconut Milk and a Thai salad on a bed of ice. I wanted to try the Mango Sticky Rice so I bought that for $7. The vendor was very friendly and told me that they use Champagne Mangoes if they are in season as they are sweeter. She mentioned another variety but I forgot what that was called. I saw some veggie vendors but didn't venture further in as I had to meet a friend.

Frog Hollow grows over 60 varieties of stone fruit, mulberries, European pears, Asian pears, persimmon, pomegranate, and blood oranges. They also bring pastries that they make and my favorite seasonal fruit crumbles for $5. There are so many other vendors and tons of different parking options. I started with the cheese and spinach empanada, which was made fresh to order. The dough was thin, and the cheese and spinach filling was savory and flavorful. It was so good that I went back for more. The staff member was incredibly friendly and even offered me an extra empanada for free. I chose the beef flavor, and it did not disappoint. It was well-seasoned, flavorful, and generously filled. I also loved browsing the flower booths. The flowers were colorful and beautiful, with plenty of selections. Unfortunately, I arrived late and all of the potted plants had already sold out. Another big plus is the open seating area, which provides a comfortable place to sit, relax, and enjoy your food while taking in the lively atmosphere. They stated it was "California Law" but that's not true because in Sacramento every outdoor farmers market we ever went to allowed dogs. If you say no dogs allowed, cool but don't make up some BS. Also I saw other dogs walking in the farmers market and those people not being harassed. Never coming back here again.
