Worst berry scones ever. Absolutely NO berries. No matter where you buy them. From Peets in Lafayette to Cumaica in SF. The pastries suck.

NO funky aftertaste like when you use stevia or one of those other alternative sweeteners. I'm not sure what kind of sweetener she used, but this was amazing. I'm not the biggest Lemon fan and I highly recommend this! I didn't pick this up, da wahini did, she was told this was the best seller. Gotta say...I agree! Dense, moist, sweet and did I mention SUGAR FREEEE!!! Absolutely brilliant! Now, I just need to try to rest of her creations...

However, maybe it's because I waited a couple of days to eat it. Highly recommend transferring to a plate or trey if you're gonna wait as long as I did as some juices seeped out of the bottom corners of the box. My dad loves lemon desserts and he loved this one. He said it's like bread pudding. A very dense one. There's no weird aftertaste that many sugar free desserts or sodas have. I really couldn't tell it was sugar free! Everyone loved it. I opted for pickup instead of delivery since I was heading that way anyway. Parking is tough. I ended up parking in a red zone at the corner a few houses away and got a little worried but I was able to pick it up within 5 minutes without getting a ticket. Whew! Ordered directly from the website and got a text once the order was ready for pickup. The minute Veronica opened the door, a cloud of baked goods hit my nose and I was in heaven. I really had to refrain myself from eating it as soon as I got back to my car. I had to put it in my trunk to avoid temptation. Picked it up on a Friday and had to hide it from myself until Sunday for Father's Day! Looking forward to trying other items on the menu.

While the selection seemed a little limited when we were there, everything looked so good that we nearly left with one of everything. My partner doesn't get as enthusiastic as food as I do, but was really into the Mexican Scone. There appeared to be only one woman working when we visited, but she greeted us immediately and offered us large samples before we even began to look at the display case. They also have a coffee bar where you can get a good variety of drinks. I got a caramel latte and it was just the right amount of sweet. Not syrupy or cloying, but with plenty of caramel flavor. The decor is cute, and I was really endeared by the hand-painted cartoon characters on the windows. There isn't much seating, but there's more than I expected, so my partner and I had somewhere to sit while we waited for my latte. Highly recommended for the authenticity and impeccable service.

Their conchas brought me in, but I actually ended up getting a lot of other things such as the lemon taquito, raspberry sponge roll, sprinkle cookie and more. It's a very tiny spot that's easy to miss, but wow, there are plenty of colorful flowers just outside the front door. We decided to check it out and yes, there's no place to sit inside. Order at the counter for takeout. They have a bit of regular buns as well as pies and other western style buns. They sell whole fruit cakes too. 8-inch round mango cake was $39. Chinese buns prices hovering around $3 were as pricey as the ones found in the South Bay Area/San Jose. Upkeep isn't the best though/more outdated. We purchased a cocktail bun/a mushroom & cheese bun/a ham & cheese/a hot dog bun/and a coconut pineapple bun. The 5-pieces were decent in size, but were stuffed into two paper bags for us which was quite different than what we expected. Buns made the paper bags very oily. We should have asked for a small box or something. They have good selections, but taste is average and doesn't stand out. Whole cakes look tempting though. Cashier needs to smile more. Overall, it's a tiny bakery for convenience. Not bad nor great here. I would look around for better options elsewhere.

When we first arrived it was not busy and there was no line to checkout, but by the time we were ready to checkout, the line was around 10 groups long and got longer when we were leaving. Paris Baguette is a chain bakery that offer coffees, teas and other drinks in addition to a large selection of bakery items and cakes. For bakery items, go grab a tray and tongs, then head over to the clear plexiglass cabinets and start grabbing all the delicious baked goods that your taste buds desire. I would suggest staring with walking along the cabinets to scout out the items first before grabbing a tray and tongs, otherwise you have the tendency to just keep grabbing items that look good on the first pass and then be up with too much. Their cakes look very appealing and tempting to purchase. We just ate dinner and I was too full to try one of their coffee or tea drinks. Paris Baguette is quickly expanding into many cities, so there may be one popping up near you soon. I would like to try more of their items in the future.
