I didn't know cupcakes could be so light and fluffy. We came here on a friend's recommendation. We came around 11:30 a.m. on a Saturday and the place was empty, except for a friendly guy working there (I think he may be the owner). He explains there aren't many flavors left because most of his business is through online orders. We asked him to help us pick out 4 cupcakes, and he was pretty chatty about them all. After we picked out our 4 cupcakes, he gave us one for free (wow - thanks so much). That took the sting out of $6 cupcakes. The place is a bakery and store front, but no seating. They have cupcakes, mochi donuts, savory muffins, and various drinks. Their baked good are made with rice flour and coconut milk, so their cupcakes are light and moist. They kinda have a mochi-coconut flavor, but not the sticky mochi texture. Most of their cupcakes have some type of filling inside, which adds to the moistness. All their flavors are really creative, and some of the ones we got today I don't even see on their online menu. The instructions say best served heated for a few seconds, but I found the cream gets too melty. It tastes fine without heating imo. What we got: + Ube cookies and cream - ube and coconut forward. Yum. + Guava - this had a dollop guava jam on top and some squirted inside too. The guava adds just the perfect bit of tartness to the cupcake. + Nutella - there's a dollop of nutella on top that fills part of cupcake inside. + Churro Biscoff - pretty gooey inside, which may be due to heating it a few seconds. Still very yummy. It's a good thing I don't live close to one of these stores or I'd be here every day. I prefer these to Sprinkles cupcakes for the same price point. read more

Hi!!!! I highly recommend either ordering from the SSF location in advance or calling ahead. They are very accommodating! They make for easy pick up since parking can be challenging. There was one occasion where I ordered 2 dozen assortment 24HRs in advance and they did not have the goods when I arrived to pick up but luckily they had baked binka bite cupcakes around to make it happen. The ube langka has a little bit too much going on; very strong langka flavor on top of the ube-flavored base and the langka part is kinda too liquid-y. I'd say the classic version is an ultimate crowd-pleaser; non-Filipinos would probably easily enjoy this one as well. My uncle had the langka one and was impressed at how flavorful but "not too sweet" the treat was. My aunt and enjoyed the ube flan ones, noting that it was the perfect size and good quality flavor. My younger cousin shared that the Bavarian creme was chewy and smooth. Even my grandma and great grandmother had some, and enjoyed that the ube flan was well balanced! I don't know who ended up trying the smores one, but I'm sure it was a hit just as the others were! This time, I decided to try out their savory muffins instead so I ordered the cheese with jalapeño and the dulce salted egg muffins. As for the calamansi matcha, it was like a hint of sour orange juice mixed with matcha- okay but not great. Not as refreshing as most people claimed it to be. In terms of prices, the mochi muffins were on the pricier side ($4.95) for both sweet or savory. Honestly, I still preferred the sweet mochi muffins over any other regular muffins due to the chewy texture and the semi-sweetness. There was only one person working as both cashier and server. Everything was ordered through the small window with no dine in or spot to sit. The person completed your full order before taking the next customer's order so expect a short line at the door. Been wanting to visit this storefront for a while! As i've tried their bites before through friends & family who have ordered for parties. Went close to closing time but they still had quite a few options left to choose from! Settled on the oreo and leche flan, which were both delicious. This is the kind of 3* review you wish you didn't feel compelled to write... It's a cute shop and some things were really good, but it just wasn't great. I had the Ube Crunch Donut. Ivy Q. had written that the frosted flakes topping was stale. Yep, it sure was. But after I brushed all of it off, the donut itself was really good. Reminded me of a less spongy, little bit more greasy version of the donut at Third Culture. Then I had the Matcha Custard Cupcake. The cake itself was soft and moist, with a little bit of matcha flavor. The custard was good too. But the matcha whipped cream stuff on the top had this odd aftershave scent. So I took the whipped cream off and it was good. But the service was frustrating. There was a young lady working very hard, helping people at the window while answering the phone and trying to pack up a bunch of pastries on the side for a pre-order. While all of this was happening, an older man was just sort of... hanging out. When I pulled up, he was outdoors wandering around, looking at his phone. Then he went back into the shop and stood in the corner staring at the young lady while she hustled to do everything on her own. The cupcakes here are so cute and delicious! They're inspired by a Filipino pastry called bibingka made of coconut milk and rice flour. I tried the ube flan cupcake ($4.75), which was the first time I actually enjoyed an ube flavored dessert because I could clearly taste the ube flavor and it wasn't too sweet. So I bought one ube flan cupcake to try. It was really good and chewy, yet lightly sweetened. Just perfect for my Asian palate. Yummy!!! But for one cupcake, it was a bit pricey. I'd rather get 12 minis for $18, so I'm able to try different flavors and share with others. They have other items on the menu like donuts, cookies and drinks. My friend's flan ube binka was similar good flavor light ube taste. The mochi doughnut with matcha was good and not too sweet. Kind of pricey too at around $4 each and it really is a bite and $5 for a drink. Their strawberry matcha drink was good but the milk overpowered the strawberry and honestly the matcha didn't quite come through enough for me. I don't think these were the best things we have ever had, and honestly though they were okay it wasn't something that we would crave in the future.
