Oyyyyy.....We love Crumbl cookies! With that being said, we had one of those bad experiences here. It was one of those one star experience days, but I will give them three stars for the benefit of the doubt. Let's start off by entering the front door, and hear happy employees singing, and working in the back. After a few minutes an acknowledgment from the back. They told us their front counter register and monitor in front was not working. Their online app works and the back computer works to receive orders. We did not have an app. We stood there trying to download the app. Finally connected and made the order. Then back to waiting..... Finally received our order. One dozen cookies for a party and two peanut butter cookies for us. All of that took about an hour. Overall, I'm not sure about this location. I understand things break. We did not get an apology for lost time. No thank you for waiting. No hello, just a shout out the system was down. If it wasn't for the kids wanting these cookies, we would've went over to Arely's French Bakery around the corner. We just got, "here's your order"! No apologies or a thank you. Maybe these employees are under stress or need more training. For the amount of money these cookies are being charged, I believe a thank you is in order. I hate writing negative reviews. The first time we went no one came to the counter to wait on us. That was fine, I saw the self serve kiosks and used one of those. We used it again the next time. I tried the Crumbl on Balboa Ave today after having a really great experience at a different location. I saw online that they have weekly cookie flavors and I didn't wanna miss their crème brûlée cookie. To be honest, I didn't like it very much. It was very sweet and I was literally chewing crunchy sugar. A cookie that did not miss...the Stroopwafel cookie! They nailed the thinness of the cookie and the gooey caramel filling!! I also got some old faithful chocolate chip cookies just in case the weekly flavors didn't hit, and of course they were delicious. Service was good- not super friendly but I used the kiosk so there wasn't a ton of opportunity to interact with staff. I was expecting the place to be a little cleaner because at my first Crumbl visit in a different location, it was pristine in there. But the Clairemont location was not as clean. There was a little chocolate smeared on the counter where I picked up my cookies which I thought was a little gross. I still think the experience was pretty good overall - I love the kiosk, some of the cookies, and the super cute packaging. read more

CRUMBL @ CLAIREMONT This crumbl was the closest one to me, with a large parking lot, the place was easy to catch. However directions will put you to go behind it, not in front of it. Walking in we did not get greeted nor acknowledged, pretty rude. We proceeded with the online kiosk, that was pretty disgusting of other people's finger prints, I'd hope that the workers atleast wiped it down every other hour or so. We got the 4 pack box, the pink velvet, cookies and cream, brookie, and the tres leches for an extra $1.49. We got it in an instant. The ratio of the cookie and brownie was AWFUL, please take a look at the pic. Moving on, the cookies were so sweet for the week, only one bite for each until I was done. The pink velvet had more frosting ratio than the cookie itself, brookie was decent, cookie and crème was okay as well. The Tres Leches was awful however, kind of had a sour taste to it, I'm not sure how the milk was added but it tasted like a wet sponge. Overall, the total was a whopping $21. It was not worth my opinion at all, overly sugary, horrible staff, and dirty place. read more

This place had the last Kris Jenner Yellow Cakes left in town! They also had the last of the Kardashian Jenner Cookie Flavors Week cookies. The location is super clean and there was no line! They have VERY nice staff here and they prepare the cookies and cakes PERFECTLY! I ordered on the app and the pickup time was perfect. I actually visited this San Diego location about a month ago but forgot to review it until just now. I'd put in an order in the Crumbl app to purchase one of their official cookie cutters and got to redeem a free 6-pack box of their cookies as well. The cookies were boxed up in front of me after I walked in (so there was no wait time), and the cookie cutter was pre-wrapped in sealed plastic packaging and then also packed up for me. There was only one staff present and she didn't engage with me much at all, but that was fine and it's actually what I prefer. The service was fast, efficient, and sanitary. The order was put together fresh right in front of me. There was no BS marketing nonsense trying to upsell me extra garbage I didn't ask for. Just good cookies and that's it. I don't live in the area, but if I did, I'd definitely come back to this location. read more

I used to be a huge fan of Crumbl until I realized how many calories and sugar were being consumed in one cookie. I do love the idea of new flavors every week and being able to track them through the app, however I feel as though they are being made way too sweet now and the insides feel undercooked. I mobile order on the Crumbl app and have picked up at this location a couple of times so far. The cookies are fresh and are of great quality. Flavor and presentation are absolute standouts. The bakery is bright and clean. The app is festively designed and easy to use. Customer service and the vibe of the staff, however, are kind of weird and off-putting. I get the minimization of direct customer service with the kiosks and mobile ordering, and I'm thankful that the brief interactions I've had when picking up my order have been positive. But with that said, workers here seem to make it obvious that they are miserable. When talking to me and other customers, they will turn the personality on, but anything before or after or in-between is blatant no-smile misery and they show it. During my first visit here some weeks ago (shortly after they opened in the morning), the lady looked so reluctant to greet me, but she switched the smile and personality on, and then shut it right off as I left with my order. My second visit a few nights ago (an hour and a half before closing) was even sadder. A baker piping frosting barely muttered a greeting and as I waited for staff to meet me up front to pick-up my order, a female worker proclaimed to the baker, "I'M HAVING A F****** SH**** day!!!" The baker replied, "Shhh, there's people in here, but same with me. Same with me." Thankfully, there were no little ones in the store to hear this. Anyway, I'm still standing there waiting to be helped for my order pick-up as I continue to hear the worker complain about her day. And then she sees me, approaches me looking sad and stressed, turns the personality on, and assists with my order. The insincerity and reluctance are so obvious overall which sours the gourmet cookie-buying experience. Not sure what needs to be done to boost morale over there, but perhaps turn on the charm and nicety BEFORE you see us customers. We all have had our bad days at work, but I also suggest being professional and tactful enough to not yell and cuss within earshot of us. Hearing all of that that night made me uncomfortable to be there. 5 stars for the stellar cookies, but 2 stars off for staff doom and gloom. read more

I visited Crumbl Cookies because it was conveniently located near my other errands. They have a system with three touchscreen kiosks for placing cookie orders, as their business model minimizes direct customer interaction aside from handing you the cookies. If you prefer not using technology for orders, be prepared to adapt. My main reason for visiting was to grab the corn bread cookie, my personal favorite. When I arrived, there were three other customers, two using the ordering tablets and one waiting. Unfortunately, one of the three kiosks was out of order, which caused a slight delay. While waiting, I noticed that the interior could use some attention, as it was quite dusty, especially around the vents and big TV screens. To my disappointment, they were out of the blueberry muffin cookie, which I was looking forward to trying. However, my cookies were ready about four minutes after ordering. Being a Monday, they offer all flavors in mini sizes, so I got one full-sized corn bread cookie and a box of three minis: corn bread, cookie dough, and peanut butter Butterfinger. While I wasn't too impressed with the Butterfinger, both the corn bread and cookie dough were delicious. I can't blame the store for this, as much as it's the app. But no one came out and the status changed, asking me to rate my experience when I hadn't received my order. I saw someone delivered curbside one minute after I arrived so I wondered if my order was taken by mistake. I had to get my two toddlers out of the car to go inside and my order was sitting there ready. Not something I'd normally write a review over but the strawberry crinkles cookie we received looked nothing like the advertised photos. Instead it had a pool of powdered sugar dumped in the middle.
