Def a crowd fave and happy to report their donut holes are amazing. Especially in love with the powdered jelly-filled! But what drove me to write the review was their amazing croissant breakfast sandwich! Def didn't photograph well because it got smushed, but it was hot, had a well-seasoned scrambled egg, gooey cheese, and a flavorful ham (although wish there was a couple more slices in there). Love that they cut it in half and pack the halves separately, which makes it eating it all the easier. Def will continue to be patrons of this awesome little donut spot near work. read more

We get donuts here all the time for work. It's a quaint shop in the shopping center, but the donuts are phenomenal. My issue with most 24 hour donut places is the weird sugar film/aftertaste that I believe comes from when the oil is old, but I've never had that experience with this place. Came here with a friend after a dance class in the same lot on a Saturday morning. It was quite busy inside with about 75% of the seats taken. At around 10:15am, they still had a good selection of treats. We were warmly greeted and since it was busy, they had several people helping patrons. I got a lemon filled donut and my friend got the mini apple fritter. Both were delicious! Definitely a great donut spot that I'll come back to again. read more

I love these local donut shops that still operate 24 hours a day because they allow the flexibility to visit at anytime. Sunny Donuts is located in the Hazard Village of Kearny Mesa. The shop is in the south end of the plaza where parking is more plentiful because the businesses are not as densely packed as the row along the northern perimeter. For a place that never closes, I was surprised to learn they don't have a public restroom for customers to use. A small menu board behind the service counter listed the prices for the beverages, donuts, muffins, and croissant sandwiches without getting into specific flavors. The cost was based on size and/or quantity. The available selections seemed to be a little over half of the full capacity of the display racks. Individual donuts cost $1.85 each which seemed higher than similar shops in other neighborhoods. I bought one Glazed Twist, one Jelly (blueberry), and one Raspberry for my donut order. After sampling a little bit of each one, my favorite was the blueberry jelly. The dough was very soft and had the right ratio of filling. In a perfect world, I would have purchased a half dozen, but donuts get stale quickly if they are not consumed within 48 hours. For the price and quality of the products I tried at Sunny Donuts, I gave my visit a four star rating. read more

I genuinely don't understand how some businesses stay open with this level of customer service. I walked into this donut shop late at night fully aware it was a graveyard shift, and I wasn't expecting luxury, just basic decency. Instead, I was met with one of the most unwelcoming attitudes I've experienced in a long time. The woman working there an older Hispanic lady, made it very clear from the moment we walked in that our presence was an inconvenience to her. No greeting, no eye contact, just visible annoyance. Every question we asked was met with short, dismissive responses, as if we were bothering her by simply trying to order food. It created an uncomfortable atmosphere not just for us, but for others in the diner as well. No one expects over-the-top friendliness at that hour, but basic courtesy should not be too much to ask. I won't be returning, and I'd caution others to reconsider unless management addresses this. Oh also - donuts were 7.8/10. read more

The staff is so friendly and kind at Sunny's. They're open 24/7 which is awesome. The gals have let me sample some donuts when I was in between flavors which was so sweet. They even throw in some extra donut holes from time to time. The glazed twist is my favorite from here since it's like a cloud that just melts in your mouth. The store was clean and I sat at the counter. The lady on duty put too much cream in my coffee. She was very accommodating about pouring some coffee out of my cup and adding more black coffee. Soft, airy and kind of moist. 3.8/5 A classic old fashioned donut is probably one of my husbands favorite donuts. After trying the chocolate cake donut we weren't expecting much but this surprisingly turned out to really shock my husband and he said he thinks it's The best old fashioned donut he had ever had. It had a great flavor, nice texture and was moist on the inside. I'm not really a fan of old fashioneds so I couldn't appreciate it as much as him but I will give it a 5/5 read more

I came around 9 pm last night and the woman that was assisting me was sweeping the floor when I walked in. She immediately put it down the dirty broom and came to assist me. I asked her if she could please wash her hands first. I'm not sure if she understood my request because she said there's no sink and pointed at the hand sanitizer.
