I've always heard of this place so I decided to come and try. It got two dozen donuts for my fellow teammates at work just so they can have a good Friday sendoff happy Friday everybody and enjoy your weekend.

    Mini fritter. Perfect size.

Everything!!!! Great service, donuts are delicious, and it's the cutest diner like seating with stools and a curved counter top. 100%!

We get donuts here all the time for work. It's a quaint shop in the shopping center, but the donuts are phenomenal. My issue with most 24 hour donut places is the weird sugar film/aftertaste that I believe comes from when the oil is old, but I've never had that experience with this place. The staff are all very sweet and friendly, the donuts, airy and pillowy with a generous amount of frosting. Great for classic donuts!

Came here with a friend after a dance class in the same lot on a Saturday morning. It was quite busy inside with about 75% of the seats taken. At around 10:15am, they still had a good selection of treats. We were warmly greeted and since it was busy, they had several people helping patrons. I got a lemon filled donut and my friend got the mini apple fritter. Both were delicious! Definitely a great donut spot that I'll come back to again.

Delicious & fresh donuts. Perfectly cooked. We had the Boston cream filled chocolate donut, apple fritters, maple donut and a couple other donuts. Highly recommend.

Cute small donut place. There are so many options that you can choose. The donut is good. We also got the pistachio Frappuccino and it's very good as well. Great customer service and there are table if you want to sit and enjoy.

Five stars because these donuts have to be my most favorite in SD! I bought a dozen and everyone I shared them with loved them. The shop is small yet cozy. Lots of parking in the lot, I will definitely return for more doughnuts!

I love these local donut shops that still operate 24 hours a day because they allow the flexibility to visit at anytime. Sunny Donuts is located in the Hazard Village of Kearny Mesa. The shop is in the south end of the plaza where parking is more plentiful because the businesses are not as densely packed as the row along the northern perimeter. For a place that never closes, I was surprised to learn they don't have a public restroom for customers to use. A small menu board behind the service counter listed the prices for the beverages, donuts, muffins, and croissant sandwiches without getting into specific flavors. The cost was based on size and/or quantity. The available selections seemed to be a little over half of the full capacity of the display racks. Individual donuts cost $1.85 each which seemed higher than similar shops in other neighborhoods. I bought one Glazed Twist, one Jelly (blueberry), and one Raspberry for my donut order. After sampling a little bit of each one, my favorite was the blueberry jelly. The dough was very soft and had the right ratio of filling. In a perfect world, I would have purchased a half dozen, but donuts get stale quickly if they are not consumed within 48 hours. For the price and quality of the products I tried at Sunny Donuts, I gave my visit a four star rating.

I was craving donuts to go with my morning coffee, I got crunch donut holes, and an old-fashioned maple. Nothing special and my donut holes don't taste fresh.

Good seatings and lots of selection of donuts! They were $2 for one, and I got the coconut kreme donut and chocolate dip. They were both pretty good and service was fast too

The staff is so friendly and kind at Sunny's. They're open 24/7 which is awesome. The gals have let me sample some donuts when I was in between flavors which was so sweet. They even throw in some extra donut holes from time to time. The glazed twist is my favorite from here since it's like a cloud that just melts in your mouth. They have bar seating inside which reminds me of an old school diner and it's so cute. Anytime I'm in the area I like to drop by for a sweet treat here.

Comic con for the win!!!!…read more This place goes all out every year with the Comic-Con donuts. Every year they bring their unique donuts into the heart of Comic-Con with their pop-ups. I usually never have luck grabbing one at their donuts at the pop-ups, but it's good to know that they offer their pop-up comic con donuts at their main shop by Little Italy. Drove down Sunday morning to grab my hand on this year's batch. With Stitch, Batman, and Pokémon, this year's donuts were amazing. The donuts are $8, and you're basically paying for the design. They are pretty, but they don't hold much flavor other than looks; it's just a basic donut that looks really good. But I remember them tasting different from all angles, but I guess this year was different. Regardless, the donuts were really good and well worth the trip. Paid it with chocolate milk or coffee and wow just wow. I Can't wait for next year.

Smaller donuts, less flavor, lower quality, and a cheap storefront. What has become of donut bar?…read more Donut Bar was never my first choice for donuts but with their old location being across the street from the Marriott I usually stay at while visiting San Diego, it was never a bad choice. Last week while in town for San Diego Comic Con, we decided to stop by and boy were we disappointed. The "themed" donuts are just lazy. They used to have different fillings and flavors and now? You only get different color frosting for the designs. The workers confirmed they were all the same donut flavor without any special features aside from their appearances. We tried the maple bacon, creme brulee, and vanilla glaze. The bacon was chewy and gross on the maple bacon bar. The creme brulee sugar topping was soft and chewy. The filling was just way too sweet and liquidy. The vanilla glaze was basic. Across the board, all the donuts were dry. The design and layout are just so boring now. It used to be a cool and fun, cozy place to visit with so many more donut flavors and even savory options. Now it's just not worth it.

There is no customer service as everything you order is through the kiosk, which is fine. The drinks come out quick which is a plus. I did pay extra for the cute surprise toy. FOR THE WIN!!! (4.75 stars)…read more I love donuts. And I tend to stick to basic classical donuts. And therefore I am late to the trend with the mochi donuts! This location is inside Bober Tea and Coffee. There is a glass casing with several flavors to choose from and they sell at $3 a piece. The one that stood out to me was the chocolate with sprinkles. Upon receiving it in a paper pocket bag, the icing was rubbing off on the bag. That immediately told me this is super fresh! I could already feel the softness of the donut. The little sectioned off ball looking segments of the donut are also a game changer when it comes to eating - easier to eat without making a mess! The texture was bouncy, soft, lightly chewy and a little stretchy... the texture was fun and I found myself wanting another afterwards. I do wish they had offer other flavors that don't sounds too sweet because the other flavors didn't really catch me. Until the next review...

Our favorites we'd recommend is the coconut cream pie and the strawberry shortcake. The bacon maple still had an amazing texture and we loved how fluffy and satisfying the dough is made but I wasn't a fan of the bacon fat taste with the maple even though I usually like a sweet+savory combo. She was helping someone else but quickly wrapped up to take my order. The space was clean with plenty of seating. It was so hard to decide so I grabbed a few to share: Maple Bacon, Coconut Cream, Lemon and Horchata. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them and appreciated that they were not overly nor greasy. The fluffiness reminded me more of a beignet and brioche. Will be back to try more flavors! 5/13- We returned for more. These were made to order and topping to dough ratio was too much. Maybe they were being generous, but they were overly sweet today. Bourbon Caramel, Strawberry Shortcake, Lemon, Blueberry Hill, Mango Margarita and Turtle Cheesecake.
