LOVE salt and straw ice cream! Best chain ice cream place around. They get very creative with their flavors, and it's fun to go in and sample some of the weirder ones. Their monthly rotating menu has me coming back frequently to see what they come up with next! February's all-chocolate special menu was one of my favorites. It can get a bit crowded and often has a line out the door of people stopping by after a nice dinner in Little Italy, but it's worth the wait! Oh honey... what is there not to love about Salt & Straw? Let me start with a quick disclaimer: I'm lactose intolerant, so ice cream and I usually do not get along. That said, Salt & Straw has been nothing but good to me. The hardest part is narrowing it down because every flavor is unique and ridiculously good. On my most recent visit, I tried the pumpkin bread ice cream and the chewy molasses ice cream, and baby... that pairing was chef's kiss. I usually go for a split scoop because it makes me feel like I'm getting a lot of ice cream in one scoop, which somehow makes me feel less guilty about calories. Not that I'm counting them anyway because let's be real--this is a TREAT. Why are we counting calories? LOL. You're lucky if you show up without a line, but the good news is most people already know what they want, so the line moves pretty fast. Unless there are new flavors out--then everyone wants to sample the whole board. But honestly, it doesn't even matter because the vibe is always so good. The store is quite small with seating for around 8 people, and it took me 15 minutes to reach the ordering counter. One of the reasons of long wait was that they offered unlimited testing and some people were having a lot of fun with it.
