Large portion size! 2 scoops was so massive compared to most other ice cream places. It was so much that even I, an ice cream fanatic, struggled to finish on my own. Might be a hot take, but I actually wasn't a huge fan of the flavors. Many of the ones I tried had weird combinations that I didn't like. There were a few other flavors that I would've wanted to try, but I was getting self conscious about asking for too many samples. I settled for the honey lavender and another flavor, but it was alright. I honestly can't remember much about either flavor. I'm inclined to say good consistency, but flavor wise, not good enough for me to really remember it. I think Salt & Straw can be fun and a really nice break from so many stores that just serve straightforward flavors, but I do think some flavors were a bit confusing. My little one wanted ice cream and so we joined the line, which went quick. We tried some samples and I had a hard time finding one I truly enjoyed. I enjoy light, fruity, not too sweet flavors generally and I couldn't find one that suited my taste. My little one enjoyed one of the four we tried. The flavors were unique and many of them that we tried were wayyyyyyy too sweet. The waffle bowl was kind of soggy before it even soaked in the melted ice cream. If it was just me, I probably wouldn't purchase anything as the sample didn't sell me any. My little one would've been super disappointed so we got the one she enjoyed. The service seems dependent on who services you. The lady we got seemed annoyed she had to help us while the lady next to her seemed super happy and helpful. Looking around for a desert spot after dinner in Little Italy led us to this unique ice cream spot. The long line caught our eye so we figured it was a must try. Can't say we were disappointed. They have super unique flavors, one being a goat cheese something or other, and a marzipan raspberry. Between those two, I have to say the goat cheese one was definitely "special" but the marzipan one was the hit! We also taste tested the pistachio and freckled mint chocolate and both were really nice, too. They have interesting monthly choices you should also try.
