The owners are gems. Their food is outstanding. The restaurant itself is so warm and inviting. My wife and I have had the greatest experiences here. I seriously love Crumbs, and this restaurant has a special place in my heart. Whenever we have friends or family come visit, this is the first place I tell them they need to stop and eat at. You'd be lucky to get food like this in a large city. I was born and raised in Chicago, and Crumbs puts a lot of fine dining restaurants out there to shame. Travis and his crew have something special going on. His home cooked approach has created a strong following. From the "Money Bags" and adult tator-tots to the slow cooked brisket, every bite has been simply delightful. The setting is old country. They did a great job making the old house into a restaurant. My family visited this week and it was so delicious we planned on going a 2nd time on our vacation...not opened on the weekends unfortunately. Crumbs is an excellent restaurant for casual dining in the town of McArthur. Whether you're going there for a special occasion or looking for a night off from cooking at home, this is a great spot. We started off with an order of the crab money bags and 51/50 dinosaur egg which were both so yummy. For entree, we ordered the double trouble sushi bowl and the "second best brisket my wife ever had" which both were excellent. The brisket came with a side salad and i picked the wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. The brisket practically melted in your mouth it was so tender. Not only was the food excellent but service was fabulous as well. Definitely recommend Crumbs if you're in the area! read more

I visited Crumbs on Friday, May 27, 2022. It is terrific to have Crumbs return to operation. Crumbs is definitely one of the best places to eat in the Fall River Mills / Burney area. Lots of fresh food options, see 2022 menu photos. There was fresh wild salmon special the night I was there. My favorite from past visits is the "dinosaur egg". For 2022 the recipe has been changed; the avocado half is no longer deep fried, now the crab is severed over bed of avocado puree -- less labor intensive I guess. My only quibble with the food preparation is that spices (e.g. ginger, chili powder) are applied liberally, one might say too heavy handed, so that that the underlying flavors are shouted out. Service was attentive. Corkage $10. I will return! read more

Been dying to get into this restaurant since COVID but unfortunately because of COVID the restaurant days were very limited. We visit our daughter regularly who is a nurse in town and the dine out options are pretty limited. Crumbs menu always looks delicious and innovative. We finally snagged a reservation at the Chefs Table tonight and boy were we impressed. From talking to Chef Travis, tasting the wine from his friends winery in Santa Barbara, the appetizers, salad and entree, we left full, happy and ready to book our next reservation! Wow! New menu doesn't disappoint! Stopped by after a great day fishing with my best fishing buddy and we were treated with another great meal from Chef Travis. Had Double Trouble sushi bowl, 51/50 Dinosaur egg (Panko coated/fried avocado!) and crab Dinosaur egg - washed down with a cold craft beer. So good we came back the next night for Bacon/cheeseburgers, blue cheese wedge salad and more cold beer. Crumbs was very busy so reservation are recommended, but service was great, food spectacular and a relaxing way to finish a couple days on the water. read more

I grew up in this area. Most places around the area are old and run down inside with basic food. Not this place!!!! Wow! I am a huge foodie and live in a major city now with a ton of high-end foodie type places and this place has me shocked! This place is so cute and cozy inside and super clean!! The services was spot on always making sure we were taken care of. They had some local draft beers which we enjoyed. It would have been nice to have more than just beer and wine but that was okay. The food was incredible!!! The dinosaur egg app and the sushi and my hubby had a steak that was local beef and so thick and cooked perfectly! For dessert we have the bananas foster. I think it was homemade vanilla ice cream. I cannot say enough about this place. I see why all my relatives go there now for special occasions! read more

Ok we've been staying in stall River Mills all summer and decided to try out Crumbs. We are their last week and the food was excellent so we made another reservation for last night 10/14/23. When we got there, at 6 pm exactly on time, the hostess told us another person by the same last name was already seated at our table even though our phone number was listed with my husbands name. The hostess then said she'd call us in thirty minutes or so to sit us at a table that wasn't right next to the live music. However 2 1/2 hours later no call. My husband called the restaurant around 8:30 to follow up and the hostess/waitress claimed she called my husband and left a message. He had no missed calls or messages on his phone. The food was great last week and maybe we attempted to come back too soon. Service could be slightly better. We had the same woman as our waitress the previous week and she had a little attitude by the end of the night. read more

I absolutely loved the food here! I had to come to Burney for a work trip and this was easily the best meal I had the entire week. I completely understand why everyone raves about this establishment. It's in a small town and there doesn't seem like there are many food options, but they definitely have a quality one here. This was a very small establishment so I would definitely recommend making a reservation. My coworkers and I did not make a reservation and were seated at the bar in front of the chef. It was definitely a different experience watching the chef cook but I can confidently say that he prepares every dish fresh. However since there is only one chef and each dish is prepared to order, it did take some time. They only had two vegetarian options but that's not surprising since the menu was limited. I ordered the vegetarian sandwich and it was AMAZING. It was incredibly flavorful, honestly one of the more flavorful sandwiches I've had in a while. My friends ordered the second best brisket my wife has ever had and the chicken and brisket bowl. According to them the brisket was very tender and flavorful. My friend did note the bowl was a bit on the saucier side, but still delicious. The only reason this establishment is getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because the food does run on the pricier side. Overall I'd highly recommend and if I'm ever in the area again I would definitely return. read more

"Absolutely!" That was their answer when I asked over the phone if they could accommodate a gluten allergy. They did, and we enjoyed a wonderful meal. They were well informed about gluten allergies. We made reservations, which I strongly recommend. It is popular with area residents and travelers alike. We were greeted by the chef as soon as we walked in. His kitchen is in clear view and you can watch him work. I'm a little disappointed we didn't sit at the counter where we could see everything he does. He greeted many of the diners by first name. And as visitors, we were treated warmly and promptly. They had a nice selection of wines, both by the bottle and glass. We each had a glass of red. My wife ordered grilled shrimp and I had the special, which was brisket, shrimp, smashed potatoes and veggies. We both had salads, which are included with the entre. The salads were nice size wedges of Romaine, with beets, bits of bacon, and homemade dressing. I had ranch, and was tempted to lick the plate. My wife had a dressing of olive oil and lemon. She was given a slice of lightly grilled lemon to squeeze on her salad. She said the grilling slightly altered the taste and made it a bit sweeter. Great idea! The special (see in photos) was superb! The shrimp made a fun and tasty combination with the beef brisket. The brisket was sitting in a sauce that tasted a little bit like a light pepper sauce. Then another sauce was added lightly to the brisket and potatoes. It was salmon colored, creamy, sweet and savory, with a slight bite. I loved it! We certainly didn't have room for dessert, which is always a bit disappointing. I may be calling them "shrimp" when they were actually called prawns. My apologies. I tried to remember what the menu said. In any case, they were nice size, fresh, and cooked perfectly. Go! I think you'll be impressed, and particularly so if you are gluten intolerant. read more

We came here on a Friday and did not have reservations, however this worked in our favor as we were sat at the Chefs bar. Chef Travis was very fun to watch and also made some amazing food. Make sure you come hungry as all of the food is extremely rich and flavorful. The whole experience from beginning to end was near flawless and it was easy to understand why they were so busy. My wife and I had the 51/50 dinosaur egg (which as the menu states you'd be crazy not to try)! We also got soup and a salad with a combo balsamic and bleu cheese dressing (at Chef Travis' recommendation) which was superb! For entrees we had the brisket and shrimp rice bowl and a calamari special. The brisket and shrimp rice bowl was very good and extremely rich. The flavor profile was dialed and the only thing I would change is a little less sauce. (My wife and I normally ask for easy sauce but on our first trip somewhere we usually don't.) The calamari special was excellent and the best calamari dish I have ever had. The calamari was cooked perfectly, the sauce was a creamy puttanesca style sauce with capers and was outstanding. I wish we had room for dessert, but we were already bringing back some of our bowl and wouldn't have been able to enjoy any of it at the restaurant. Do yourself the favor of visiting this place, sitting at the Chefs bar and watch Chef Travis do his thing. You will not leave disappointed and will enjoy your experience from beginning to end. In the middle of...."somewhere"...one of my best dining experiences in a lovely cottage style restaurant. Started off with some nice wine and a crab appetizer, which were these delicious crispy pouches of crab like little wontons. Then a wedge salad with buttermilk ranch dressing (ran out of bleu cheese). The "Oscar" goes to the entree..grilled top sirloin which was grilled to a perfect medium rare and incredibly tasty. I was "mmmming" with practically every morsel, probably to the annoyance and envy of my dinner companion. I sort of ignored the wasabi smashed potatoes and veggies (which were good) that accompanied it but the "star attraction" was the top sirloin. I must add the potatoes had just a hint of wasabi. It was not overwhelming. The service was very good. The restaurant was not full and no waiting, although we did have reservations. read more

I rarely ever review places, but every time I have dined at Crumbs I leave so satisfied. The staff and owner are super friendly and always engage in conversation. The food is so fun and delicious! Last time I was in McArthur I got a steak meal that was massive and so damn good! This time around I went for sushi to go and I was so pleasantly surprised at how great it was. The mount Shasta roll was killer, I love the baked shrimp on top (something I normally would never think to order). I like that I can drive by and see the R&R truck there so you know the meat is top notch! Honestly this is on my top 5 of Northern California small business restaurants, I just love the food and the atmosphere! read more

This is my second visit to Crumbs after a stellar first experience. I had the NY steak with blue cheese and onions with the Dinosaur egg (cubed potato with wasabi. The steak was enormous and cooked to perfection. I didn't care for the wasabi potatoes. My son had the bacon cheese burger with sweet potato fries which he enjoyed.
