I started playing pickleball about two years ago. My regular game is an informal weekend morning open play. If weather allows and people show up, it's a great group and we have a lot of fun. If it rains, or nobody shows then it falls a bit flat. Even when we have a great session, we don't really get to hang out afterwards as it's awkward to stand around in a public tennis center having a chat or (heavens!) a beer. Crush Yard solves all of those problems. As a member, I can show up just about any morning and be assured of finding dry courts, motivated players, and a fun place to hang out with some food and beer after for a bit of socializing. It's also good for more of a night out. I sometimes rent a court and invite a few friends to come along and I dine, drink, and play with whoever shows up. The food is crowd-pleasing and the self-pour alcohol system keeps things informal. The place has also been a big hit with my wife and kids who enjoy the food and the classy vibe. We can hang on one of their big sofas upstairs watching the games below and throwing down some Uno or one of the other games scattered around. read more

Amazing place! Nothing like it in the Charleston area as far as eating and entertainment. Totally disagree with the one star reviewer Jack, he is way off in my opinion. We had a great time watching the playoffs, as well as enjoying the tasty selection of food we ordered. The wings, chicken tenders, and short rib sandwich were all top notch. The staff were very friendly, as well as accommodating with directing us through the process. We plan to return next week to take a stab at pickleball itself as we saw newbies like us, along with more serious players too. Plenty of quality lounge seating, tables, even an upstairs mezzanine. While we were in there was a large group upstairs that appeared to be having a great time at an event. Oh I almost forgot to mention the digital self pour craft beer island, and mixed drinks! Food, service, and ambiance are all spectacular! The entire restaurant is aesthetically pleasing and the courts are clean and well maintained. There is a lot of seating for different moods, whether you want to relax and have the sound of people playing pickleball as background noise or you want to watch and cheer people on, they have it all. Don't even get me started with the beer taps either... take your time, choose from 36 beers, and pour it yourself? Next question. I like to compare it to making you're own sundae at an ice cream or froyo store because who doesn't enjoy doing that? We came to Crush Yard with our son's baseball team and had such a fun time! The setup is perfect for groups -- plenty of space to spread out, eat, and hang out while the kids played. The pickleball courts were a huge hit, even for the ones who had never played before. It was super family-friendly, and the staff was really accommodating with our big group. The food was surprisingly good for a place that also focuses on sports and games -- definitely recommend the wings and the flatbreads! My family and I love going to the crush yard! We've been 4 times! Pickleball is fun and easy to learn and renting courts and equipment doesn't cost too much. If you like to play, there's a nicely lit, comfortable, and tastefully decorated area to play provided board games. The foos is great and it's super fun how you can pick it up yourself! It's a great place to hang out with friends and family.The music is a little too country for my taste, but that doesn't take away from all the other great qualities. i enjoyed my stay. the food was very bueno. the manager was extremely helpful your hear me. reminded me of the gay love affair i once had with a man named Francois. the ambiance reminded me of the hood at night. Such a fun place to hang out! We went on a weekday and had no problems with court reservations - courts were clean and the place smelled good (not like a gym ) - food was great - I can recommend the pretzel bites and the chicken sandwich - I especially love that the food is customizable to the plain sandwich if you want! We visited Crush Yard twice. First, as a family of 4 and then just hubby and I. Had so much fun both times and looking to come back when we're in the Charleston area again. Crushyard is a unique indoor pickleball, lounge/bar/restaurant space in Mt Pleasant. I really had fun when I visited. The courts are brand new and clean and the facility is modern. I ordered a hamburger that was delicious and drank an old fashion that was on tap! My wife had a pickleball work function there and everyone had a good time. Just go and see for yourself! read more
