Great place if you're looking for Americanized Thai fast, cheap eats. I've eaten at Crushcraft a few times and always come back to their Drunken Noodles (#1) and Fresh Rolls (#10). Their food comes out in disposable paper bowls/containers. I think the best thing about this place, aside from their cheap Thai food, is their majestic, colorful ribbon display in their main dining room. Crushcraft is definitely not an ordinary Thai restaurant. The location is in the Quadrangle and facing the street. Finding a parking spot is like finding gold so good luck with that. As soon as I walked in the layout of this place was interesting. With the zigzag dining area and the urban decorations this didn't look like any ordinary Thai restaurant. I ordered #6 Red Curry with beef. The dish comes out in a large bowl with lots of beef and little curry. I imagined the curry to be soupy but it was hardly there. The rice and the curry comes in together and a mix of steamed veggies is on the side. They literally give you a lot of beef and I'm not a big fan of eating lots of beef. The meat was cooked fine but like I said I thought the curry would be more soupy. I also ordered vegetable spring rolls, comes in 5pcs and is about $4. The spring rolls was killer! Perfectly fried so that the skin was crispy and not greasy. The steamed veggies that came with the curry was really good too. Ok so I eat a lot of Thai food and I'm kinda used to a certain flavor profile, but when you are drunk well everything kinda tastes good! We stumbled over here at 2am based on a buddy's recommendation (Dr. Ranch is Thai and he ate there two days in a row so it doesn't get any more legit than that right). What a delightful meal! As you drive up the entrance just calls you in with the lovely patio. You order at the front and then they give you a buzzer to pick up your food. We ordered- beef panang (the beef was almost braised, perfect melt in your mouth), chicken drunken noodles, tom kha with spring rolls (great spicy dipping sauce), tofu fries (crispy on the outside and soft inside), Thai iced tea (always a fav). A really cool place that serves "street style" Thai food. The food has a lot of flavor, but is a bit too sweet/salty for me. I ordered the Pad Kew Mao (order #1) and it has a lot of sauce. My taste preference for Thai noodles tends to be dryer so if they scaled back on the sauce....I would have liked it more. Order #3 came with jasmine rice and basil flavored ground meat. It was pretty good...but it didn't knock my socks off. Their Thai tea is really good though... I ended up ordering another to go. I liked that they used compostable plates and cups! Wow, what a surprise. This place is in an amazing area and I brought my girl here for both of our first times. The prices are great (my "OG phat Thai" was $8, her panang curry was $10) and the Thai tea was WAY worth a couple more bucks. I love that they fill the open space with their ingredients, that they're THAT proud of what's in their food . My phat Thai was light enough to go down quickly, and not too spicy, but left me feeling full after just half. Her panang curry was much heartier, but also smooth (she only ate half, too). I was talking to a guy by the sauce bar who was taking his order to-go and asked him if he'd ever been here before. He told me that he'd had everything on the menu. Despite the amazing reviews I went to this place for dinner and was less than impressed. I ordered their #1 seller, the Og Phat Thai. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad at all, but I've definitely had better Thai food. What really turned me away from them was the service. I wanted to try one of the flavored waters (cucumber mint) so I ordered it and paid the overpriced $5 for a small cup of it. I tried it and I thought it was TERRIBLE. I'm not a picky eater/drinker but this was terrible. I took it up to the front and told them it was horrible and wanted to try the other flavor instead or get another drink. I was NOT asking for a refund or anything of the sorts but I got a lot off pushback from the girl working at the front. I had to repeatedly ask and then finally an older man came out from the back and said that it would be no problem. For a non-alcoholic drink worth $5, I would expect them to be a little more accommodating. //EDIT// After writing this review, Tan was nice enough to reach out to me and make it right by offering a refund. I greatly appreciate this gesture and am willing to go back to give them another shot. read more

I love the eclectic atmosphere of this place. It is unlike your ordinary Thai restaurant, because you order at the counter and they call you when it is ready. One downside is that it is a pain to find parking. Even when you do, you may have to walk quite a bit. I have tried some of their noodle dishes and they were pretty good. However, on one of the visits, the Phat Ke Mao was so salty, I did not even finish half of it. I always enjoy their thai tea though, because it is not overly sweet. I had a beef dish and it was alright. The beef was kind of strange and chewy. They had a decent Thai iced tea though. I probably won't go back as I'm particular about my Thai food. One of my coworkers had a soup and he said to remind him not to eat it again. The seating is a bit strange as some tables have short stools instead of chairs. Very few times do the stars align perfectly and ambience + flavor + service come together to create a perfect harmony of overall experience AND food, but somehow, Crushcraft has managed it. Food 4.5/5 Definitely satisfied my major thai craving and then some! I got the Phat thai and thai tea and my friend got something with curry and noodles and a thai coffee. I really enjoyed my dish as the sauce was not at all unbearingly sweet and also loved the curry noodles which had the perfect amount of spice and flavor. I will say I preferred the thai coffee over the thai tea as the tea was a bit on the sweeter side, but both were drinks I would probably order again. My favorite part- the garnishes! I loathe garnishes that make no real contribution to a dish rather than adding a pop of color. At Crushcraft, the garnishes added new textures and flavors that added to the flavors of the cohesive dish rather than awkwardly interrupting it, which I appreciated. Service 5/5 Very helpful and accommodating, the nice lady at the cash register even took the time to patiently explain the differences between certain dishes for us. Decor 5/5 Honestly, my favorite part about Crushcraft is its ambiance. I'll try to keep this short because I could go on about how much I absolutely adored about the decor but to be simple, the more I looked around from the mismatched chairs to the balcony to the miscellaneous items that added a bit of thai flair, the more I found something I hadn't seen before, and the more the loved the place. Came directly here after my flight in around 11pm and it was totally worth it. I absolutely love the vibe here, it's so cute! The service was great. Our food arrived in a good amount of time, didn't have to wait long. I recommend the drunken noodles, can never go wrong with that. I also tried the green curry that was made to be extra spicy but it didn't taste extra spicy at all. But then again, my spice tolerance is pretty high. Another thing I had: lettuce cups. This is one my wife and I's favorite place in Dallas. They have a great variety of food. A lot of options for those adventurous with ethnic food but nothing strange.
