    Warm Arugula Salad

Crust Simply Italian absolutely knocked it out of the park. Every dish we tried was fantastic, and it's one of those places where you leave already planning your next visit. We started with the garlic knots, and they were everything you could want: warm, buttery, perfectly garlicky, and huge! Soft on the inside with just the right amount of seasoning, they disappeared from the table in no time. The Limoncello Spritz was the perfect summer cocktail. Bright, refreshing, and just the right balance of sweet and tart. The citrusy zest kept it from being overly sweet and made it incredibly easy to sip. I wasn't quite sure what to expect from the warm salad, but it ended up being one of my favorite things we ordered. It was hearty and satisfying without feeling heavy. The combination of warm ingredients with the fresh greens was so well balanced and full of flavor. We also ordered the truffle fries, which were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. But the real star was the dipping sauce, it took the fries to another level. I could've happily eaten that dip with just about anything on the menu. From the food to the atmosphere, everything made for a wonderful meal. If you're in the Peoria area and craving Italian, Crust Simply Italian is absolutely worth a visit.

This place had average food and ok service, the charcuterie board was good, our drinks didn't come until way after our entree. I got the blackberry mule and it didn't have any vodka or ginger beer-- mostly tasted like punch. The pasta alla Scottsdale was unseasoned, the pasta itself over cooked and kinda soupy. We could never find our waitress to ask for anything to help. My fiancée ate as much as he could because we were starved. However I did like linguine and clams-- I just add red pepper and oregano. It's indoor outdoor seating seems like the place holds a lot of people, the busser was great and helped as much as he could!

Sydney our Server is so nice, friendly and very accommodating. Ambiance is nice, it's brand new, very clean and organized. Beautiful Bar, Great Patio Area with Mister and Fans. Calamari is okay, peppers in our estimation were to HOT! Meatball Parmesan Sandwich is excellent, meatballs taste homemade as does the Baguette. Salmon BLT is average, Salmon was overdone, bacon is perfect & shoestring fries were good. Both sandwich's are huge, enough to share. We will be back to try their pizza and pasta dishes. Just a suggestion; clean silverware before wrapping for spots & food left on after washing.

    Clam linguini

Had a great experience the day after they opened to the public. (After their soft opening) Three of us arrived for happy hour and ordered a Marguerite Pizza, calamari, and fries to start. Pizza was shaped as a large wine glass and cut in eight pieces. We had asked for and received a crispy crust. It was perfect. The calamari was plentiful and nicely done and the thin fries were lovely and crisp per my friend's request. Then we ordered clam linguini, meatball sandwich and side salad. Clam linguini was a generous portion. Taste was good. Not the best he'd ever had but certainly better than others. Happy with the amount of linguini. Can never understand why restaurants give small portions of pasta when it costs so little to be generous. Meatball was my friend's "very best meatball" that she's ever had. And my side salad was fresh and had an excellent dressing. We ended with their homemade tiramisu. Also yummy. We ran into friends who ended up ordering the same things and they too thought everything was great. Most of the 6oz pours were on happy hour with fair prices. We met their CEO while there and she was very sweet and also a local. Considering it was only their first days of opening we were impressed at how well things went. You often have to give a lot of grace to openings. All said, we are so happy to have Crust in town.

Great new location for the Crust Simply Italian, located on the west side. I have been a big fan of the Crust in Chandler for a long time, and was extremely excited to check out the Peoria location. The Peoria location is now my new favorite, the restaurant is larger, the service is great, and the food is quick! Walking up the restaurant is a fun experience, there is a giant archway with the restaurants name and a beautiful grass area with a mini playground. The food was phenomenal! We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer, it was so good that I didn't get a picture of it until after a fourth of it was left. The Calamari is cooked perfectly, it is not tough and the size of the rings and tentacles are perfect. I also ordered the Large Ceasar Salad and the salad was great, it had a great balance of dressing to lettuce and was not soggy. I also ordered the linguine white clam sauce pasta and it was great. The dish has chopped clams throughout it and shelled clams. The pasta was cooked perfectly with the perfect amount of sauce. The pasta was not too fishy and it had a nice kick from the red peppers. I would recommend checking out the Crust Simply Italian Peoria!

We tied out the new Crust restaurant in Peoria yesterday. We were familiar with Crust, having frequented their Scottsdale location. What a nice restaurant, large roomy and lively. We arrived during happy hour and were able to take advantage of those specials. We had appetizers and entrees and everything was delicious. The food service was a little slow, but that was expected with a new establishment. We will definitely go there again.

Wow. Just wow. Finally, a great Italian place in the neighborhood. We have been waiting for this! Location is awesome, lots of seating inside and out, garage doors on two sides to enjoy the beautiful weather and upbeat music you can hear but also hold a conversation. AND...tucked away by the side to-go entrance is a speakeasy - The Raven - swanky, complete with craft cocktails and its own menu. Started off with the Limoncello Spritz, which was perfectly cool and refreshing for a hot day. Oh, and it's housemade Limoncello! Also tried Crust's Sangiovese Blend. Both great choices. As for the menu, we had a difficult time deciding, because SO MANY CHOICES so I've already planned what I'm eating the next six visits! The meatballs and ricotta were a perfect pairing and the Sweet Little 'Roni was anything but little. Both delicious. I was excited to see Chicken Francese on the menu since it's almost nonexistent in AZ, and even more pleased that it was prepared so perfectly. Easily a favorite. We did save room for cannoli, cheesecake and butter cake and would rank them in that order. Cannoli crust was just the right amount of crisp and though I was a little disappointed when I didn't see chocolate chips, all was right again when I took the first bite and found they were inside! Kudos to the staff. All were super friendly and seemed as excited as we were to be there.

I'm so disappointed because I know this is probably a great place but OMG even the next day eating the pizza cold my mouth is still on fire. I am not a fan of spicy hot food so I don't order it. I ordered the supreme pizza I think it was called. It said nothing at all about it being spicy and my mouth is just on fire from trying to eat it. Everything we ordered was just ridiculously spicy/hot so I cannot even tell if it was that good. I wasted alot of money I can say that. All the staff was really wonderful though. Being from the Northeast I was so excited to find and try an Italian restaurant:(

    Penne Alla Scottsdale

This place never disappoints! The location, service and food is always amazing! Sat at the bar today and Gabi and Sunny were amazing! Very attentive and friendly! I had the Penne Alla Scottsdale which was amazing! My husband got the Big John Pizza! House Cabernet and margaritas were super yummy! Love this place! They were a little busy but Sunday lunch hour but our food came out sooner than expected! Love the atmosphere and the patio is perfect for our AZ weather! Definitely one of our favorite places! Thank you Gabi and Sunny!

    Chop Chop Hero

Chop Chop Hero and fries ($15): A big time letdown for traditional Italian sandwich lovers. It is essentially an over-dressed salad on a roll with less than an ounce of meat, rather than a hearty, piled-high sub. The "sandwich" falls apart as the salad pieces slide out w/ each bite, forcing me give up and eat it with a fork. Don't get me wrong - I applaud their cajones for maximizing profit margins on a staple sandwich--saving on meat costs by serving a salad on a roll (w/ less than 1 oz of meat) --but charging $15 ($20+ with tax and tip) for mostly lettuce is a ripoff. Fries: Overcooked shoe-string fries that tasted like stale, crunchy potato chips. Thats usually the problem with these skinny fries - they get overcooked easily. Overall - Im going a 1/5. The exceptional ambience/service almost moved it to a 2/5. Unfortunately - the food was such a terrible value and not offering a proper Italian sandwich at an Italian Pizza place is unacceptable. Real Italian men want salad for the ladies but offer a man a real sandwich for crying out loud. Skip this spot unless you prefer foo-foo Pizza or the bland tasting "New York-style" pizza. The staple Italian sandwich most of these places serve isn't really available here. At $20+ after tax and tip, the value just isn't there.

It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.

Service was exceptional - from wine recommendations to always having full water glasses. The evening began with an impressive charcuterie board featuring a generous assortment of cured meats, cheeses, olives, and antipasti. The board was beautifully arranged and encouraged sharing, conversation, and plenty of flavor exploration. The butternut squash ravoli were served in a rich cream sauce, it was indulgent and satisfying. The pasta was tender and well-filled, while the velvety sauce added a luxurious touch without overwhelming the dish. It was a hit. The orecchiette pasta showcased a more rustic side of Italian cooking. Combined with broccolini, spicy sausage, tomatoes, and a dusting of Parmesan, the dish offered a nice balance of savory, fresh, and earthy flavors. The pasta was perfectly cooked and hearty enough to stand on its own as a memorable entrée. The pizza delivered everything diners hope for from a traditional Italian pie: a beautifully blistered crust, vibrant tomato sauce, and generous toppings. The combination of olives, artichokes, mushrooms, and cured meats created layers of flavor, while the char on the crust suggested a properly hot oven and careful attention to technique. Dessert provided a fitting finale. The tiramisu was light and creamy with a generous dusting of cocoa, offering the classic coffee-and-mascarpone flavors that make it a perennial favorite. The diplomatico was a cream-filled pastry added a contrasting texture with its flaky layers and sweet filling, making it difficult to choose a favorite between the two. This restaurant excels at delivering authentic Italian comfort food with quality ingredients and generous portions. The standout charcuterie board, flavorful pasta dishes, well-executed pizza, and exceptional desserts combine to create a memorable dining experience that would be easy to recommend for both casual dinners and special occasions.
