Fried calamari with marinara, spicy calabrian sauce and ranch (which I asked to be added, doesn't actually come with it)
    Kate L.

Really awesome Italian food and just what I was looking for. I will admit that Italian is NOT my favorite type of cuisine, but lately I have been wanting stuffed shells with ricotta and a meat sauce for some reason and what do you know? Modo Mio has it! We had also heard they had a really good hot honey pepperoni pizza and wanted to try that as well. Lastly, I wanted to try their friend calamari. We got all of those dishes (plus my husband got the carbonara) and it was all SO good! I really enjoyed my food and it was all so tasty and delicious. The calamari was stellar; it was not rubbery like some seafood can be. It was perfectly cooked and the spicy calabrian sauce was perfectly paired. I LOVED my stuffed shells! I know this might be dramatic but I almost cried when eating it because if you have ever thought about a meal and how you wanted it and then it lived up to expectations instead of being a downer, you KNOW how good of a feeling that is! The hot honey pizza was also really good. They have great ranch too and while I didn't get wings this time, it's on my list for next time because I think the ranch will pair very well with them. The vibes inside are nice and cozy and it is pretty casual, but I like that. The service was outstanding! I asked for a few modifications of things (no lemon wedge on the calamari, meat sauce added to the shells, ranch with the calamari, hot honey on half the pizza) and everything was correct! The server and the girl she was training were awesome too. They checked on us multiple times, chatted with us, made good conversation, and were just really kind and friendly and made the experience great. We will definitely be back! Highly recommend to others as well.

Went in at 5 o'clock on a week night- We were sat right away and had our servers attention right away too. The place smells so good like fresh dough and pizza. I had the 10" pizza with black olive and my partner had a meatball sandwich. Both were great. I think the server forgot to bring us some sort of starting bread because it was brought at the same time as the meals. Oh well it was good. The employees seem so happy there and you could tell everyone gets along great. They all deserve a raise ! Thanks

This place is a hidden gem The service is AWESOME!! Niki is so sweet and personable. She is on top of things and ensures the table is taken care of. The owner, is just as nice and personable sharing the story of how he opened up this restaurant. They are evolving and look forward to see what they do next. The food is flavorful and the ambience is very mellow and relaxed. The pizza was amazing. Really tasty. Loved the crust. The sangria was decent. The tables are a good distance and you don't feel crammed. The noise level is low so you aren't having to yell across the table. We will definitely be back.

A very nice experience overall! Quick service and a friendly demeanor, our waitress was fantastic at timing when to check in on us, and making some suggestions for our first visit. We decided to go with the Caprese as an appetizer, and then ordered the Chicken Parm / Bianca Pizza for our entrees. Everything was fantastic, came out hot and delicious. Definitely a place we'd recommend, and will be dining at again.

I was very impressed with this little Italian kitchen!! I ordered Chicken Parmesan, garlic bread and a key lime cannoli to go. The chicken was moist and very flavorful. It came with three large pieces! I got the Crema Rosa sauce which was good but not enough on the pasta for my preference. It was hard to truly taste it. The garlic bread was fantastic!! The cannoli was exceptional! Portions are large and the service is outstanding!! Currently you order at the counter but they are working toward full service. The place is clean and I'm absolutely going back again and again!!

We ordered: Gli Antipasti | Appetizers - BURRATA with ROASTED COMPARI TOMATOES - Burrata + pomodori Campari arrostiti + pesto + Olio EVO (Burrata imported from Italy roasted in wood-fired oven along with tomatoes + basil + EVOO.) Pesto is made with pistachios. Absolutely delicious - POLPETTE DELLA NONNA - Meatballs made with Nonna's (grandma's) recipe. Also very good! Pizzas - DIAVOLA - San Marzano pomodoro + mozzarella + salame piccante + Olio EVO (San Marzano tomato sauce + mozzarella + spicy salami + EVOO). Son said their pizza was amazing. Wood fired. Handmade Pasta - RAVIOLI AL BRASATO x2 - Con crema burro e salvia (Braised short-rib ravioli with a buttercream sage sauce) a subtle herbed rich cream sauce over fresh pasta filled with braised short rib. Great flavor and filling. I could tell the pasta was Housemade on taste. Le Insalate | Salads - PERA | PEAR - Rucola + pere + pomodorini + mandorle tostate vinaigrette al limone (Arugula + pears + cherry tomatoes + toasted almonds + shaved parmesan + lemon vinaigrette. Daughter loved this salad. Presented so well. Looked amazing. We had no room for dessert. We'll have to come back for some espresso and treats. It came with grilled ciabatta, arugula, shaved red onion, and a Calabrian vinaigrette. The burrata was incredibly creamy and paired perfectly with the tomatoes, while the crunchy ciabatta added a wonderful contrast in texture. My husband chose the Sicilian meatballs, which were served over creamy polenta with rustic marinara and grana padano, also a very solid dish. For our entrees, we had the hot honey & smoked prosciutto pizza and the strozzapreti, a pasta dish with herb-roasted chicken, mushroom, spinach, parmesan cream, truffle, and pine nuts). Both were fantastic! The pizza nailed that sweet and savory flavor profile, and the crust was absolutely perfect. The strozzapreti was also delicious -- rich, creamy, and packed with mushroom and truffle flavor. Last time we visited the North Italia Phoenix location, the pasta was a bit too soft and lacked that proper al dente bite, but this time it was cooked flawlessly. Unfortunately, the desserts were a letdown. We tried the hazelnut torta and the tiramisu, but both were overwhelmingly sweet. The tiramisu tasted soggy, like it had been sitting in the fridge for a long time instead of being freshly made, and the chocolate balls on top felt unnecessary and cheapened the dish. The service was also a bit of a mixed bag. Somehow our desserts were brought out before we had even finished our entrees. As a result, the ice cream on top of the hazelnut torta just sat there melting by the time we were ready for it. It made the end of the meal feel rushed, like they were trying to turn the table over quickly.

Of course it was always during the day when they weren't open and it was quickly forgotten. Finally the universe brought us nearby while we were on our way to dinner to another restaurant and the lightbulb went off "what about that Italian place near XXXX" and the rest was history. My goodness are we happy we had that epiphany because we just found our new favorite Italian joint. First off the service was fantastic and that was all courtesy of Sal. He is very knowledgeable and just cool about everything he says and does. It's like you're having dinner at his house. He just wants you to have the best experience without any pressure because he knows the food will deliver. I know It's so annoying to ask for recommendations but he didn't seem bothered by it at all. In fact he encouraged it and after taking his recommendation i understand why he was so confident. This place is just so damn good. Starting with the bread, it was fresh, warm and delicious. We had the soup (tomato basil) and summer salad special which were both great. Onto the entrees, the lasagne bolognese and the eggplant parm with ravioli instead of the sautéed spinach as recommended by Sal. Both were so DELICIOUS. The eggplant parm was light and flavorful which the lasagne was dense but packed with so much goodness. It was a lot of food so we had to take most to go, which will be another 2-4 meals for us. We finished with a chocolate peanut butter mousse dessert which was the cheery in top of a great meal. I'm so happy fate brought us here. I can't wait to go back.

So the staff is NOT wine savvy, I wouldn't trust their recommendations on pairings here either. They didn't have any Pelligrino left, so I ended up getting an arnold palmer. However, when they brought the check out, the Pelligrino was still on the tab and we had to ask them to take it off. We both got pasta, the lasagna and the chicken masala, and a caesar salad. The noodles tasted like it was made in house, which was nice. Chicken was not overly breaded and the sauce was light. The salad had too much cheese but I think some people just like that on their salad. It happened to be a little under twenty minutes away from us so we decided let's do it & they were open late. Hell yeah. There's not a crazy amount of pastries but the selection was great. We got two tiramisus, one vanilla custard lobster tail, some mini cannolis, & the wedding cookies. Everything came out to about $50 so beware, prices aren't exactly cheap. But for one, if you're going to do "bad" then do it right & we also shared with our family of 5 so plenty to go around. & Holy cow, everything was incredible. So indulgent, decadent & rich in flavor. My nephews liked the cannolis, personally they're not my favorite, but if you're into it the mini's are a great option to quench the craving. The lobster tail with the vanilla custard took me by surprise. I didn't think I was going to care for it, but the cold custard was refreshing & the flakiness of the bread was crazy, my taster buds were confused by the textures, but in the best way. They complemented each other well. My ultimate favorite was the tiramisu & the wedding cookies. I honestly wish I had gotten more of the wedding cookies, those things took me back. I grew up eating the Mexican ones & the Italians did it right *applause* But damn, the tiramisu was to die for. I would order that again & again. Perfectly chilled, the dusting of the cocoa powder didn't taste like nesquik--incredible. At first the price had me thinking if we were doing too much, like damn, should we have just gone to Sprouts bakery? But after being able to indulge in a great quality dessert, it was worth every dollar. My only feedback, careful when you're paying at the register. If you're not paying attention, the tip automatically defaults to 18% on the tablet. Only thing I didn't care for. I could see if I was eating at the restaurant, but I just popped in to take pastries to go. So, that was kind of annoying. The service was fine, the girl that helped me was nice, but again I just pointed at desserts I wanted & went home. The location is part of the main restaurant, but it has its own entrance & little room making it feel separate to the Sicilian Butcher. They also carry gelato which I haven't tried yet. I believe they have little tables to sit at also. Highly recommend checking this out so save room for dessert!
