The wife and I recently got married, and decided to stay in Lake Tahoe for our honeymoon. We had…read morelooked at several log cabins in the area, and decided on Bernie's Place. Great choice! George was so easy to deal with, he was very friendly and made the reservation so easy. He explained the charges, the cabin, and answered any questions I had about my trip out there. After booking, he also sent tons of information regarding restaurants, shopping, and things to do in the area, and put me at ease regarding our trip from Florida out to Tahoe. The cabin was awesome, and exactly what we were looking for. Comfortable and cozy, and very easy to get to off the main highway. Two bedrooms with very comfortable beds, closets, and dressers gave us plenty of room to store our clothes and supplies, and offered a great night's sleep. The bathroom was clean and exactly what we needed. The living room was also very comfortable with LOTS of room. Nice couch, table, and a good sized TV with cable and a DVD player. The kitchen and dining room area was also great- everything you'd need for your home away from home. Pots, pans, dishes, cups, utensils, coffee maker, microwave, fridge & freezer, oven, dishwasher- there literally was nothing we needed on this entire trip that wasn't in the cabin already. It was just such a great place to stay, and compared to the price of local hotels (especially those near Heavenly), it was so much more for way less of a price. Very easy to get to from the highway, and minutes from the resorts, stateline, casinos, and tons of restaurants and things to do. I'm very glad I found this place, and so happy I chose Bernie's Place as my cabin to stay at during my trip to Tahoe. Definitely give George a call, or check out the website if you're looking for a cabin in the area. Great place for a great price- and everything you need for a comfortable stay. Definitely recommended, and I will be staying here again on my next trip to Tahoe.

Its a short distance to the highway as well. We arrived late in the evening and there was so much going on. Broad street was buzzing with activity and everything is right at your doorstep. There are two reserved parking spots at the back of the house near the main entrance. At night (after 10, I'd say) there's plenty of street parking as well. The inn had plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, blankets, pillows and towels. The kitchens were stocked with a wide variety of kitchen essentials. Upon arrival the place was pretty clean aside for some spider webs. There is a tv with DVR and Netflix which was VERY much appreciated. We were able to play some wedding themed movies while pampering and prepping for the big day! My only complaint is that there isn't enough lightening, especially downstairs. It can also get really cold because of all of the Windows downstairs. Bundle up and turn on a heater in the fall and winter months! Loved this place, I would definitely stay again.

Looks amazing from the outside and so perfectly located right in town, close to all the restaurants and shops. Thanks for helping with recommendations as where to go this evening. We'll be back!

Stayed here for an anniversary weekend with my husband. Fabulous accommodations for a golf "play…read moreand stay". There are only a handful of villas, (maybe 10?) in a very secluded area between Portola and the Graeagle area. The villas are located along the 10th fairway of The Dragon at Nakoma. The villas are stand alone buildings and I believe there are 3 different floor plans. Ours was a 2 story with the first floor consisting of a small living area with a fold out couch, flat screen tv (albeit a small one) a mini kitchen, half bath and sauna. The mini kitchen consisted of a mini fridge, sink and a stovetop with a few burners. The kitchen was stocked with enough pots, pans, plates etc to cook in the villa, however we never used it. There is a Jacuzzi outside on the deck overlooking the fairway, however there are shutters for privacy if you choose. The second floor consisted of a master suite with another small flat screen tv, super comfy bed with great linens, 2 cedar closets, and the master bath had a Jacuzzi tub, glass shower and dual sinks. There was also a balcony out of the master with a sitting area to overlook the 10th. There are fireplaces in the living, master bed and master bath, although in July with the high risk of fire we were unable to use them due to county codes. That was fine as there were record highs that weekend so they were unnecessary. The A/C did work better downstairs as the upstairs was consistently 10 degrees hotter, but the evenings are cool and I like open windows while sleeping so it really didn't affect us. The place had really cool lighting effects and walls and floor were trimmed with cedar which made the place smell great! While the villas are pretty far from civilization they are just a short walk from the clubhouse. For our day of golf we walked to the clubhouse and drove the cart back to the villa to load up our clubs. Not sure if its allowed, but we did it and it was super convenient! We also walked to the clubhouse for dinner one night and up for drinks at the bar on the second night. I didn't want the leave the area but felt like we needed to see the surrounding area. Once we left to drive into town I just kept thinking how I would rather just spend the whole weekend at Nakoma! Overall, it was a bit spendy, but worth every penny!
