Looking for a place with cozy cabin vibes, a warm gas fireplace and lakefront views? Look no further. The property is small but in a prime location for Lake Tahoe activities. There is a private beach for lake activities and only 15min from Northstar ski resort. Safeway grocery store is less than 1/4mile away and lots of restaurants close by. Unfortunately there is only one parking space per unit and any additional cars must be parked off the property. There is trash and towel service twice a week. Laundry facilities are free but there are only 2 washers and 2 dryers for the entire property. Detergent is $2 and can be purchased at the front desk. Because of a snow storm we could not make it on the first day and arrived late on the second day. The staff at the front desk (Erin, Kelly, Kailee) were all accommodating with the late check-in process and texted instructions on how to retrieve our card keys since the office close at 6pm. read more

The positives: Very clean. The communication is fantastic. View of the lake is priceless. You can enjoy the property without being bothered, just be respectful. Bed, even though a Murphy is quite comfortable. Having your own assigned parking spot is super convenient. After hours check in was straight forward & easy. The private & protected swim/kayake launch area is great. BBQ's are plentiful & work great. Loved watching the sunrise & sunset from the pier. Had a great time playing ping pong. Full kitchen is stocked & great for preparing meals. The not so great: Temperature in the room runs warm, no matter what you do. We left most windows open 24/7 & were still warm - even with snow outside. To complicate that - leaf blowers...run all day long. Do they carry around extra batteries? No joke - from 8am to after 5pm, it doesn't stop. When you have to leave windows open to not boil in the room - the noise from the leaf blowers = nousicance. The pillows are crazy full. Make your neck hurt firm. I ended up filling my own pillowcase with a small blanket I brought. If you trade through II, for a sleeps 2 privately/with a kitchen - that's exactly what you get. A room with a kitchen in it. It's pretty intimate to co-habitate for a week together. We did ok but it would be awkward if your not super close/familiar with each other. $25 a day "resort fee", no matter what the season & no matter what type of room you have. No kayakes, no pool - doesn't matter = $25 a day. We won't be back, unfortunately. Might be better in a larger unit during a different time of year. read more

We stayed at Red Wolf Lodge from Monday to Thursday and had an amazing time! The value was great for everything it offered. The front desk staff was super communicative--sending texts about daily family activities right when we checked in, which really helped us make the most of our stay. The lodge has a rustic, charming vibe with warm wood interiors that made it feel cozy and welcoming. Our favorite part? The private beach and cove! The shallow waters were perfect for our kids to swim safely, and they had a blast catching crawfish off the dock (with hot dogs on sticks--so fun!). Other big wins: *Pool with a lake and mountain view *Tons of BBQ pits so we could cook meals while watching the sunset *Free kayak rentals and laundry (we were pleasantly surprised!) *Daily family activities like s'mores, root beer floats, and crafts *Friendly, helpful staff everywhere we went There were a couple small hiccups--our jet tub acted up, and the fire pit by the pool only worked the first night--but neither took away from the experience. We have been going to this lodge since the 80s. Back then for many years it was family owned. By different families, all amazing. A corporation took it over and did a lot of updates and upgrades making the property even better than it was before. There are two differences between now and then. Major ones in my opinion. The first is customer service! Let me be clear that the staff that we interacted with... Kaylee, Trini and Mary were top notch. They were kind, accommodating, super friendly and welcomed us everyday with a smile. The general manager, Erin, who claims to have been here for the last 15 years is nothing but a corporate robot. She was not friendly, inviting or a person I would want to do business with again. The other huge topic there was the parking. This has never been an issue in the past. If you are in a bigger unit and require more than one car or have another party with you, you are instructed to park either On the busy highway or in the Safeway parking lot which I'm sure is not legal overnight. To top that off, there is one handicap spot in the entire Lodge. This is not only against State codes but Erin proceeded to tell me that she is aware they are short-handicap spots but there is nothing they can do and will continue to pay the fine. My dad has MS and has a handicap placard and there were several other guests that required wheelchair assistance but again nowhere for them to park. Maybe across the street in the Safeway parking lot. We were there during the off-season and there were plenty of open parking spots. Although these parking spots were not utilized if we put an additional car there, it was so severely tagged taped and plastered all over the windshield. Followed by 100 text messages that went out to the entire Lodge about parking. My suggestion would be if there are any open spots, maybe posting in the office daily the open spots so that other guests that are paying can park their car on the property instead of on public property across the street. The final recommendation was the overwhelming amount of text messages that were sent throughout our week Stay was absolutely ridiculous. Anything more than one text a day to keep the guests updated on the activities they were having is completely unnecessary! This Lodge is more on the expensive side so to have this kind of treatment during our vacation was a little much and I really feel sorry for the timeshare guests that have to deal with this all year long for the amount of money they pay to stay there. Again the property was beautiful and other than having to deal with the parking and Erin I would definitely recommend! Unfortunately I don't see this changing anytime soon! read more

My husband and I booked a week at this resort and were pleasantly surprised how much we have been enjoying our stay. We could only get an efficiency and we were worried it would be too small for us. It is small, but they have definitely furnished the space wisely so we don't feel cramped. Also, it is a full kitchen and it is well stocked. The grounds are well maintained and they have plenty of seating around the property as well as lounges and chairs on the beach. They have two fire pits and lots of tables and chairs near the beach. It is right on the lake and they also have kayaks you can use. I highly recommend staying at this resort! read more

This was our first visit for two nights. We loved absolutely every bit of this property except for one thing, the bed. If the bed wasn't a pull down style, they might have offered a firmer mattress. My body couldn't get comfy on a sinking mattress and trying to sleep for two nights on this type of mattress really affected our physical comfort. The next time we stay there, I will ask for a room with a normal bed, if that's offered. As for all the good stuff, this was the most peaceful stay of the many vacations I have taken. To be able to enjoy a quiet morning and evening on the lake, breathing the fresh mountain air and taking in the views brought me so much happiness and peace. In two days, my soul felt nourished. My back was sore, but I guess I can't always get what I want. We loved the well stocked kitchen and well stocked bathroom. Everything was at our finger tips and we didn't have to ask for more supplies. Having Safeway so close by motivated us to cook more. The staff was friendly too. We can't wait to go back. read more

I can not say enough great things about Erin, Kelly, the entire staff and the property. Redwolf is awesome! The first time I stayed here using a friends unit, I fell in love so much that I wound up buying a place here as well. So now I am an owner! The location of Redwolf is perfect. You are in Kings Beach and can walk to the middle of town in about 10 minutes. They have 1 and 2 bedroom units available. They allow 1 car per unit. There are about 27 units at the lodge. Each unit has a fully equipped kitchen if you want to cook. There is a dining table, a couch and a couple of chairs in the living room area. You really have everything you need. The 2 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms which is very nice if you have different couples sharing the unit. Closets and dressers are available for your clothes. There is a TV in each bedroom and in the living room The property has a hot tub, pool, beach, chairs on the beach and free kayaks that you can use. They also have BBQ's and picnic tables that you can use. Every employee is super nice and very helpful. The entire property is very clean and maintained. For a week's stay, they do a cleaning on Thursdays changing linens and towels. There is a Safeway across the street and many great restaurants in walking distance. The Great Lake Tahoe experience. To be honest I didn't know what to expect and feel like their profile don't do it justice. When we arrived we was pleasantly surprised. It was a great stay with thoughtful touches. Example, a full kitchen, all the cookware, hot water kettle, natural wood coffee table, etc. each room seems to be made differently, my room had its own little deck patio. The best amenity they offer is the pool and private beach . If you are coming to Lake Tahoe for the lake the. This is the place to be. Redwolf Lakeside Lodge is a small resort located at the end of SR 267/N Lake Blvd. The unit is well maintained and up to date with all the essential. What I love about the property: 1. You park right in front of your unit. 2. Jaccuzi bathtub, I like how the tub is deep so you can soak after a long day skiing. 3. Unit has a cabin feel with all the wood feature. 4. Lakeside property, only a few feet away from the beautiful lake. 5. 10 min drive to Northstar ski resort. We stayed in the 1 bed unit, bedroom had a full size bed and queen size pullout sofa in the living room. Kitchen had everything to cook a hot meal. The gas fireplace made it feel real cozy. No washer/dryer in the unit. Property does offer washer/dryer free of charge. We loved what Redwolf Lakeside Lodge has to offered and really enjoyed our stay. We would stayed here again. read more

It's been a wonderful stay once again. Erin and Katie are the sweetest and most accommodating. The changes since the last visit show the TLC in continuing to wow their guests. They even brought back social activities. Communication is very transparent. They regularly text guests with important info. The only exception is the laundry hours are not visibly posted. Tonight I had the unfortunate case where now my laundry will sit overnight til 8a-9a. It was not enough to ruin my stay, but certainly left a bad taste on my last night. My plan was to leave by 6a for 8hr drive home the next day. When I went to pickup my laundry, I find the door no longer opened with card key. After trying another card key, I called the emergency #. They didn't know either and put me on hold. Then I was informed that laundry hours are til 10p; I missed by less than 10min. While I understand laundry isn't 24x7, why so early? More importantly I did not see any signs on the door or in the check-in papers to notify the guests. Maybe I wouldn't be as upset if I didn't have to wait til morning to pickup my laundry. Leaving on a positive note, the best part of the lodge is free use of the kayaks. It's awesome to paddle on the beautiful lake! read more

No air conditioning. The time has past for Tahoe hotels to not have aircon. It's 8pm, 80 in my room. Windows open, fan on but had to close door due to mosquitoes. I just booked a stay through Travelocity and minutes after my booking I was made aware by Red Wolf that there is road construction at night that will impact our stay. They said they're giving out free ear plugs!!! I notified them within minutes of my reservation that I would like to cancel and now they're saying I need to cancel through Travelocity. Travelocity is saying Red Wolf will not cancel and will charge me per their policy. I literally JUST booked the reservation 30 minutes ago. This is outrageous, Red Wolf will not pick up their phone, Travelocity cannot reach them, nor can Update: received an email that the road construction has moved down the road. A hotel with a good location but VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE from the so-called "Manager" Erin O'brien, I rented through Airbnb for two days to celebrate my birthday but unfortunate when I went to bed and obviously out of precaution so this happening in the world COVID-19 with more caution we checked the bed and there were hairs on the sheets, so I went to the lobby the next day with photos and there was the person with the worst attitude that I have seen Erin O'brien saying that those hairs were from the people who did the cleaning and my answer was serious? Is that what you are going to tell me? There were no apologies or any option like: we will change your sheets, I am sorry that we can do something to improve your stay. What does a person like her do as a manager? Don't you have a little love for what you do? it is definitely in the WRONG position. I booked an overnight stay for me and my son this weekend. He is not feeling well so tested him and he is positive for COVID. I called the front desk and they transferred me to the reservation company. The reservation person told me that unless I (the name on the reservation) test positive, they will not give me a refund. She flippantly said I could just LEAVE MY SON HOME since he is the one who is sick!! Obviously I escalated my complaint to a supervisor. When the supervisor called me she said I will have to drag my sick son out to a testing site to get an "official test" and submit it to them, or no refund. So I have two choices: 1. Drag my sick son out to a testing center to get my money back 2. Realize my son will likely be feeling better by our reservation date (but likely still COVID positive) and continue with our vacation plans and come enjoy our cabin since they are going to charge me for the cabin anyway. I have never written anything like this about a hotel, but felt it necessary this time. I booked for myself, two kids and their grandmother. The email clearly states: the office is open till 6 pm, free rollaway beds available on request. So on the way here, I called, left a message, and expected assistance. It was not to be. I finally reached the General Manager at 10:30 pm, and was clearly told: the office is only open till 5, no rollaways available (they only have two, and anyway they would not help me at this hour). They also doubted that I had even called, despite my call logs and message left. I finally called hotels.com, who gave me a partial discount. Thanks for the gesture, it certainly helps, but we still ended up have two people sleep on the floor. It's a shame: the place is otherwise beautiful. UPDATE: The hotel called to give me a further discount. I feel bad: all I really needed to hear was that they were sorry this happened. It's a great location and the rooms are nice: it's just that they were totally unresponsive and unpleasant when I finally reached them. Updating to two stars. read more

They were able to create a spacious pool and hot tub area, large deck with grills, beach area complete with hammock and free to use kayaks. Cute, well appointed, clean units with a fireplace. So I've been in mid July 2014to 2019. Covid so missed 2020. This is resort with actual lake access. Within a few steps. Also has pool. And hot tub. Before walk another 25 seconds to Lake. Has kayak and other equipment to use. But reason I return is best bbq day once a week. Trini's guacamole is best I've ever had. Used to have ice cream social, pottery painting, mosaics ( functional coat hangers, etc). Not sure if still can do this year Ask if any activities happening week you book. Totally me, please be fully vaxed if you want to share this fabulous place. I want to be mostly safe after a year. If you are anti vax then maybe you need to stay away from rest of us until you feel 2 million vaxed are enough proof vax is safe. No bill gates chips, just polio, measles, et al you got. All the amenities including cable, full kitchens, big comfy beds, porches, living rooms, etc! The gf & I were blown away. The best part: A pool with a deck that meets at the beach & dock (which in this area you'll find many kinds of boats available to take out onto the water)... so you're literally right on Lake Tahoe. THE VIEW!!! THE VIEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everything was awesome about our stay. Pretty friendly service, too. We'd love to stay again! :) P.S. The place is fine; the only thing I was disappointed in was the location. I know there's not much that can be done by the lodge about that, but it's right off the main road through town and we can hear every vehicle that drives by. If you're a light sleeper, this isn't the place for you unless you're one of the lucky ones who gets a room towards the lakeside of the property. The rooms inside are cozy and nicely appointed. It has a kind of rustic log cabin feel once you get inside, but from the outside it's fairly ordinary. The pictures on the website show the newest building on the property. Nothing else looks like the pictures, so be forewarned before you get here that it looks very different than what they want you to think. They have stocked the rooms with TV's and VHS/DVD players and loaded the kitchen with all you'll need to make simple meals. All the appliances and cookware are bottom of the line, so you need to make sure you watch over what you're cooking, otherwise you'll burn it very easily. The lodge is right in the heart of King's Beach and Tahoe Vista, so everything you want to find is easily accessible. There is a Safeway a couple blocks away that is also a pharmacy, so you can buy all your food and supplies when you get here rather than lugging a car load of groceries. We brought some food with us, but if I would have known the grocery store was so close I wouldn't have brought anything. Bottom line is that this is a average place. Nothing about it stands out above the many other choices you might have. My guess is that it will all come down to price and what deal or special you're able to find. read more

The people at Red Wolf themselves are great. However, they use a 3rd party booking service called ResorTime which I have found to be the worst company with which to do business. As others have said on Google Reviews, I strongly recommend to do not work with this ResorTime or book with any hotel that uses them. Through a mistake of Expedia, the wrong date was booked. Expedia reached out to ResorTime to process a refund, but even though this request was done within minutes of the booking, ResorTime refused to process the refund. Run away from this company with all speed. read more

It was a last minute weekend trip to celebrate a birthday and it exceeded all our expectations! Erin, Katie and Kelly made this such a special and unforgettable trip. We can't wait to return. The 2bedroom/2bathroom was very well maintained, super clean, great shower and super comfy. The outdoor area and access/view to/of the lake is spectacular. The calm private beach, dock, swimming pool, BBQ, and sitting area in front of the lake are "Wow"!!! My 3 year old had a blast playing by the lake, in the heated swimming pool and enjoying the snow at Squaw Valley. Be aware that each apartment only has 1 parking spot and there is no parking area nearby. They may be able to accommodate a second car but it is not guaranteed. We can't wait to return. read more

I am late writing this review but better late than never. My husband and we have been going to Redwolf Lakeside Lodge since 2001 and love it. The units have a gas fireplace. It is so nice to watch the flames of the gas fire on a cold winter night. I love going in to the heated jacuzzi when the snow in on the ground with a hot coco or tea and watching the waves on Lake Tahoe. It is beautiful. We have chosen to go in the winter this year. Our trip last year was in September 2016. It was perfect weather and the lake glimmered with ripples of shimmering sun beams. The staff are AWESOME! The cabins and grounds are pristine. My Wife and I came stayed at RedWolf Sunday to Saturday. It was the best vacation to this day. We went early October 2017. Weather was perfect. Resort is very beautiful and located about a mile away from closest town. Views were Amazing and room decorations were on point. Management and team made our stay very comfortable and they were happy to help with all questions. They lended is fishing rods, kayaks and board games. Everyone there was very friendly. At first this place just simply shocked me because the pictures do not depict the reality, but I need to give it three stars because it worked, yet I must admit that the front desk lady (blond hair) was the most unfriendly and unpleasant person I have ever met at the reception desk while traveling. We booked a studio unit here last year and thought it was just enough. However, having another studio unit in another resort and being disappointed how small they can get, I decided to call here and request an upgrade to one bedroom unit. Unfortunately they didn't have anything available.We arrived and learned that the resort was primarily consisted of two rows of cabins located right off the main road which was nothing like on the promo pictures that were showing the adjacent and the only other lake front building. The pool wasn't heated and it was dirty, but the Jacuzzi was working and the views are gorgeous. So you can go to the pool area with a glass of wine, sit down, chill and watch the world pass by. We found the studio being badly furnished and organized and we had to rearrange as much as possible to make it functional. The studio has a murphy bed (surprisingly comfy) two arm chairs, very small chester drawer and no storage or place to put your winter clothes and gear. It has a rustic and a bit dated feel, but it is clean and has all you need in the kitchen and the bathroom. I don't like the cleaners to come to my room and had no idea that they had midweek cleaning. Unfortunately, there is no "do not disturb" sign in the room that you could leave on the front door. Yes, the cleaners surprised me with a clean room upon my return from the slopes There is pretty much very little in the walking distance. Safeway, one Italian restaurant and few "joints" at the Kings Beach (less than a mile) where you can grab a bite. However if you are skiing at NorthStar it is right next to the primary road that takes you to North Star which makes the location quite convenient. Generally, it is clean and an OK place. I am giving it three stars because it was clean, convenient, warm, it wasn't loud (even though it was next to the main road) and it was good value as I paid only $550 for 7 nights using RCI. You don't get many rooms with full kitchen for $80 a night. Warning....upon arrival I was not informed that they charge $10 per day a "resort fee"...I was surprised with this fee upon checking out. What is it for? Internet and parking....ridicules. read more

Like most people I wanted to get a way from the routine and work to spend some quality time with my family and friends, place is nice we really enjoyed it. Management was really awful a lady named Erin have no idea what costumer service is all about she don't realized that people go there to get away from everyday life and business and the last thing a costumer would like to meet is a mean lady like her, she is not nice let alone helpful I mean we as costumer staying a week there were afraid of going to the office to see that lady. I would say to only stay here if you get a room closest to the lake. The buildings are perpendicular to the shore, so very few suites have lake views. If you're like us and book on hotels.com, you will probably get the shaft and be in unit 27-closest to the road and above the office. Other than that, I'm gonna highlight things that I would like to have read in a review- 1) the kitchen doesn't include cereal/soup bowls 2) the heater in the bedroom won't turn off (or we can't figure out how to turn it off) 3) there is a gas fireplace which is nice and cozy 4) the space is tight. We are in a one bedroom which has a pull out sofa in the living room and queen bed in the bedroom. If you saw this online and decided to stay here with 3 other adults, you probably wouldn't want to spend much time inside 5) there are jets in the bathtub 6) someone here really loves towel art...they are folded in the shape of a dog, a fish, fans, etc. 7) the bed is comfortable 8) the office closes at 7, so if you get here after that and it's cold as hell you will find yourself picking up the red phone in the dark, which calls someone who can confirm your reservation and give you the code to the lock box, which has the keys for anyone expected that evening. Really working the honor system there... All in all, this isn't a bad place to stay, and I imagine in the summer it would be better since you could utilize the lakeside location/dock and beach more. In the winter, we'd prefer a view, and 98% of the units don't offer that here. The hunt for the perfect lakeside lodge continues! read more

My husband and I stayed here Saturday night 02/01/14 and loved it! We went snowboarding at North Star and checked in around 5:00pm. We stayed in room 18 and really liked our room. There was plenty of space for us, our suit case and snowboarding equipment. Our room had a double bed, small table, gas fire place, cute kitchenette complete with ref, dish washer, coffee maker, garbage disposal and snacks in a little basket (the chocolate was yummy). We will definitely be staying here again because we have season passes. Our room wasn't that far from the hot tub but if you want to be closer I suggest putting in that request when making the reservation. My only complaint is that this isn't a pet friendly hotel but the puppy towel art did make me smile :) read more

The Redwolf Lodge was a great vacation spot for my family and I. Each day we were at the pool side and enjoying the wonderful ambiance that the lodge had to offer. Each day there were special activities for the guests to participate in. The one thing I thought was a little lame was that the outdoor fireplaces were not functional for the guests at their convenience. We stayed here during our honeymoon week. We requested a 1 bed room, were issued a bedroom with a "murphy" bed. the unit was tiny, once you put down the bed there was no space to go around to use the restroom, you basically had to move all the furniture (two chairs and a table) to the side to brind down the bed. The unit was right next to the office, at 7 in the morning the maid decided to clean the wall opposite of our room which woke us up, because the room was next to the office our room was closes to the road, so there was constant nonstop noise from cars and trucks, overall it was not relaxing at all. the pool was average and the beach access was a hike down a sandy path. the shutters were wooden which let a lot of light, we were awake very early. There was a side window right next to a pole where people lock their bicycles which meant we had to shut it all the time because there were people really close to the window at all times, it was very creepy. because the room was uncomfortable and extremely noisy I went to the front desk to see if there were other units available, unfortunately I was greeted by the general manager (Erin) who was extremely rude, she said that because I wasn't an owner I couldn't get a better room and I wouldn't be accommodated in any way. We ended up leaving after two days (we still had 4 days left that were prepaid) I did eventually call corporate and was issued an apology, they also offered a certificate that I haven't been able to use because no one will call me back, (I have left two voicemails and sent at least five emails. Overall this was trip from hell, I have never been exposed to such rudeness and a company that simply doesn't care for their patrons at all. read more

We were able to exchange our regular timeshare for this place. The weather was crazy (still snowing at Memorial Day) but this place is really nice. We own a 2 bedroom/2 bath and were able to exchange for the same. We had an end unit overlooking the lake and pool. The unit was spacious and clean. Bathrooms were good size. Lots of hooks and rods to hang towels and jackets which is great. Living room also has storage for the kid sleeping on the pullout. Kitchen was well equipped. We easily walked to Safeway. If the weather had been better, we could have walked around all of Kings Beach. It's a real bummer the weather wasn't better as the location is right on the lake and they have free kayaks to use. We will be back - hopefully when the weather is better and we can take advantage of all the amenities. Our only negative is that our 18 year old said the pullout mattress was horrible. Could use an upgrade! read more
