Excellent sandwiches. I really love the soft bread and the shredded lettuce. The whole size sandwich is quite big! We got Crystal Club sandwiches and a Turkey Bacon Avocado. All great. The service was fast and very friendly. This is sort of a hole in the wall place that is very plain and old school, but I kind of like that and appreciate it. Nothing fancy - just good sandwiches and a place to eat them and hang out if you want. My biggest complaint is that it's hard to find an online menu. They don't have a website- they just use facebook (which doesn't seem current or up to date and no regular postings), and their menu on there is very old. But rest assured that whatever is on that menu is still applicable today - just the prices are different. So I got some pix of the current menu. Hope that helps someone looking. read more

Holy wow this place is way underrated on Yelp. The sandwich I had was amazing. Crunchy bread great meat to veggie ratio. I'd eat this sandwich again and again. They don't have options for bread which is disappointing. The bread texture wasn't quite right and it sticks to your teeth. Overall, the sandwich was just okay. Perfect picnic material. We celebrated Father's Day with a forest picnic featuring Crystal Creek Sandwiches. We placed our order a day early in order to avoid the holiday crowd. I picked a hot sandwich called the Turkey Beef Avocado, sans beef. This sammie came topped with thick layers of mayo, tomatoes, cucumber, Italian dressing, cheddar cheese, avocado, and lettuce on white bread. The sandwich was tasty, fresh, but also a bit plain. Old time favorite for 20 + years. It's across from the NAU campus. We were pleasantly surprised they were open. The last few times we were in town they were closed. It's an old whole in the wall place. Workers are friendly and it's Clean. Spicy French dip. Served warm thinly sliced roast beef, green chilies, peppers and cream cheese and au jus for dipping. Not really spicy just tasty! We always bring a small ice chest to save our other half sandwich for tomorrow. They are big and the bread is really good.Soooo good and great price for 2 meals each sandwich was $12. They have all kinds of sandwiches including lots of yummy veggie options and salads. Bags of assorted chips and serve yourself soda. Lots of selections of beer on tap. Music is the oldies and you can shoot pool while waiting for your order or just hang out. Wait time was under 10 minutes. We still love this place and recommend it. They had a busy line coming in for pick up. There were a few people eating in. Escaping the phoenix heat. I can't believe we haven't tried this place before recently!! I don't often go to this side of town, but the quality and prices here are so worth it! You walk in, order at the counter, pay, then wait for your order to be called, super simple! The interior kind of gave me cozy cabin/southern pool table bar vibes. And I am only saying that because of the wood paneled interior. The staff is great, and super friendly! Depending on how busy it is it can get a little hard to hear which order is being called. My first time here I tried the crystal veggie sandwich and it was delicious! I'm not a vegetarian but the combination of these flavors were so intriguing and it paid off. This place was empty when we arrived and now i know why. They were out of the soup of the day which was disappointing. The bathroom was atrocious and badly needed attention. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. The lettuce was brown and wilted, the tomatoes mushy, the cucumbers dry and brown. The TURKEY BACON AVOCADO sandwich had one piece of limp microwave bacon, 2 slices of turkey, and 2 slices of avocado. LAME. It had no flavor at all. Old school sandwich shop and that's all they have which makes it easy. Fresh bread was nice. We had a Crystal Creek and a sausage sandwich plus some pb& j's. Kids weren't crazy about the pb& j on a sub roll. Overall decent sandwiches but old inside with pool tables and limited seating. Bathrooms were very old and didn't feel very clean. Saddest sandwich in America. We had high hopes for this once " flagstaffs top restaurants". We ordered 3 sandwiches. We then waited 30 minutes for... One French dip, that was flatter than a blown semi truck tire. With 2 turkey bacon avocado sandwiches. One of these came on the wrong kind of bread and with no avocado, and the other (pictured below) came with one measly slice of bacon and a 1 tiny sliver of avocado with cheese half on a HALF sandwich. As I walked by the dust caked pool light (see picture) at least I found a heads up penny on my way to the door. Tired from a day of exploring we wanted to grab some food for later before heading back to our airbnb for an early night. We were greeted by a really friendly employee who handed us menus and also made some recommendations based on popular menu items. We got two of the larger size sandwiches to go and they were huuuge! Also asked for our italian dressing to be on the side so they wouldn't get soggy as we didn't plan to eat them straight away. The pastrami reuben was fine, nothing special. Bread was a bit puffy, and unfortunately they didn't have rye. Pastrami was nice and warm, but was sliced too thin and wasn't very fresh. Don't judge a book by its cover - this place is a small hole in the wall in a small strip center but oh so worth stopping in for a meal. While I haven't tried all of their sandwiches I can tell you that the crystal club, the reuben, the Italian, the Italian combo, and the French Dip are all great. The rolls are fresh and soft and all of the ingredients are top notch. Yea, it's more expensive than Subway but come on - it's not Subway. Go here. My wife used to go here when she went to college, few years back. She's been talking about this place for years. We finally go and I was excited and expecting a giant delicious grinder! The place was open and chill. Pool tables worked and were decent. No military discount. Barely any meat or cheese on the grinders. It was very minimal. Bread was fresh and delicious. The veggies was fresh, but not a lot. It was also dry, I was hoping oil and vinegar with spices or maybe some sauce or something. Prices were high for what you were getting. (Maybe I'm just used to actually really good grinders from the East coast, and have been spoiled, but this sandwich/hoogie/grinder/sub was not was I was looking for). Sandwich was stuffed, fresh baked lightly toasted roll and cup of au jus. First for both of us, we really enjoyed it. The sandwiches are made fresh and take a few minutes. Had high expectations unfortunately they weren't met. I will start with the positives being the atmosphere is very homey and could be fun for a hangout with friends. (Pool tables, small restaurant vibes) I also enjoyed the crispy yet soft aspects of the bread and the potato salad was delicious as well. I ordered the French Dip which has always been a staple because you can't really go wrong and the service was fast however my sandwich meet was completely cold on the inside and warm on the edges, the cheese was not melted and overall didn't meet the standard. You tip but the tables are dirty & gross, don't worry they call your name loud enough to come pick up your food once you've found a "clean" place to sit. Now the food. Damn where to start, it was $40, and definitely not worth it. Right off, hit a chain sandwich shop, save your money and your expectations. The ham and potato soup, more like water with thin sliced sandwich meat. The only flavor I could get out of it was black pepper. The two (not two packets, just two) saltines they gave me a little more "flavor". I tried the meatball sub, Boring! Upon opening it up, the bread was not worth my time, you have baby meat balls, cheese and ok marinara sauce. My partner tried the French dip, he let me try. Again horrible bread. Again Boring, that sauce needs to have some, any flavor. Last his potato salad, we both agreed there is store bought that tastes better. We both are left scratching our heads and wondering, how does this place have 4 stars?!? WTAF?!? Photos today are not of the food. I like photographing well presented or inviting food, this food was not worth my time. Instead I give you interior shot, because maybe 4 stars is completely based on ambiance. Sandwiches from Crystal Creek are generally comprised of soft chew bread. Ingredient abundant and filling. Today, we ordered a number of sandwiches for a few of us at lunch time. This was a pick up order. Later, toward the evening we ordered a few more of the same sandwiches: The French Dip, via Postmates. Attached are a couple of images. The partially eaten half (that is why it's smaller) sandwich is from the batch that was picked up. There was about 3 times as much roast beef and the bread was fresh. The French Dips that Postmates delivered were on a long thin much drier loaf, hard enough to knock on. Hardly any roast beef in comparison to the ones picked up in person. Not sure if there was any cheese on any of them.Ididn't see any on the one I took a photo of. I have picked up a number of sandwiches from Crystal Creek in person, never have I seen this stark difference.
