A Flagstaff, Arizona staple! Crystal Creek Sandwich Co has been serving satisfying hot sandwiches for decades. They've been voted best of Flagstaff. The shop is a casual local spot that has a rustic feel with wood walls and seating throughout the dining area. This is the type of spot where people carve their initials into the tables and booths. There are multiple pool tables as well. We tried the Italian, and it came out hot after a short wait. Loved the freshness and quality and would come back! The also offer catering. For dine in or takeout, they are open daily 10am to 5pm!

At the entrance door pretty logo.

Plain bread but soft. Made a sandwich of healthy veggies and shared a whole one with a friend. I was stuffed and the price was reasonable. Personable staff. Place is very plain but there are pool tables to enjoy. Recommended by a few college peeps. I personally would go more fancy place.

I was starving and stopped by in hopes of getting a good sandwich quickly. I ordered one of the hot sandwiches - the turkey, beef, and avocado. They don't have options for bread which is disappointing. The bread texture wasn't quite right and it sticks to your teeth. Overall, the sandwich was just okay. The service was extremely slow, especially since I just got a single sandwich. The bathroom was in poor condition. There is a lot of seating and some pool tables inside.

Old time favorite for 20 + years. It's across from the NAU campus. We were pleasantly surprised they were open. The last few times we were in town they were closed. It's an old whole in the wall place. Workers are friendly and it's Clean. Spicy French dip. Served warm thinly sliced roast beef, green chilies, peppers and cream cheese and au jus for dipping. Not really spicy just tasty! We always bring a small ice chest to save our other half sandwich for tomorrow. They are big and the bread is really good.Soooo good and great price for 2 meals each sandwich was $12. They have all kinds of sandwiches including lots of yummy veggie options and salads. Bags of assorted chips and serve yourself soda. Lots of selections of beer on tap. Music is the oldies and you can shoot pool while waiting for your order or just hang out. Wait time was under 10 minutes. We still love this place and recommend it. They had a busy line coming in for pick up. There were a few people eating in. Escaping the phoenix heat. You can actually enjoy a warm sandwich! We also come up when it's snowing. A great relaxing place to grab a bite.

This place was empty when we arrived and now i know why. They were out of the soup of the day which was disappointing. The bathroom was atrocious and badly needed attention. I ordered the turkey bacon avocado sandwich. The lettuce was brown and wilted, the tomatoes mushy, the cucumbers dry and brown. The TURKEY BACON AVOCADO sandwich had one piece of limp microwave bacon, 2 slices of turkey, and 2 slices of avocado. LAME. It had no flavor at all. Tasted like a sandwich from the gas station fridge. Also additional VEGGIE toppings are a dollar each. Bizarre. Don't recommend this establishment.

Fast, casual, friendly sandwich shop in Flagstaff! It's worth the stop in! My favorite is the Crystal Veggie and I always get a full-size so I can eat half in Flagstaff and the other half when I get back home to Phoenix!

Love the names carved in the wood.

Would have been five stars but I could barely fight off the flies, Service: The sandwich maker was pleasant and efficient. Delicious food: the white roll was soft and tasty, the combination of meat and veggies was good, thinly sliced and fresh, but I could barely fight off the flies. Fun atmosphere: brought back the good old days, but I could barely fight off the flies. I'm pretty sure I'll be back but only to carry out...guess why?...because I could barely fight off the flies.

Saddest sandwich in America. We had high hopes for this once " flagstaffs top restaurants". We ordered 3 sandwiches. We then waited 30 minutes for... One French dip, that was flatter than a blown semi truck tire. With 2 turkey bacon avocado sandwiches. One of these came on the wrong kind of bread and with no avocado, and the other (pictured below) came with one measly slice of bacon and a 1 tiny sliver of avocado with cheese half on a HALF sandwich. As I walked by the dust caked pool light (see picture) at least I found a heads up penny on my way to the door. Hopefully my luck turns around and I never have a sandwich as bad as this again.

Awesome bread. Very tasty sandwiches. Good beer selection. Soup of the day was meh. Looks like a cool evening hang, with two pool tables.

We popped in on a Monday morning hoping to score some great grub and we certainly found some! Cubano ($20.95) - Starting with the bread - it's really fluffy, not toasted or pressed as with usual cubanos. Unfortunately, it's probably a little too light for the sandwich because some parts get mushy from being soaked in all the dijonnaise. The dijonnaise is very sweet, creamy with a mustardy zing. I think they add a bit too much, making the sandwich more fatty and messy to eat than I like (not to mention what I stated before about it soaking into the bread). The meat is fantastic. Both porchetta and ham are griddled on the flat top, giving them a developed and concentrated edge. The ham is to the point of being like country ham, while the porchetta still has great seasoned porky flavor. I believe they griddle the swiss cheese alongside the meat. It melts and crisps up into a cheese skirt, adding a fantastic texture to the sandwich. There's a lot of crinkle cut pickles underneath the meat, but it's not enough acid to cut through all that fat. Sandwiches come with a side of house chips. They are fried until a darker golden brown color, but aren't burnt. This gives a great kettle chip-like crunch. Even with different sized chips, they are very evenly fried with all chips being the same texture. They are salted the perfect amount. (4/5) Aleppo Pepper Pastrami sub Tomato Soup ($22.75) - This place is famous for their pastrami, and I can tell the quality. It's cooked on the griddle until it develops crisp edges. It's fatty, but the fat is rendered so there are no chewy and leathery parts. The meat is extremely tender and thinly sliced. It's honestly almost like bacon in texture, but the taste is completely different, with the exterior spices and pepper making a huge impact along with the rich concentrated meatiness inside. The bread is a nice toasted sourdough, not strongly sour in flavor, but definitely noticeable. The bottom slice is slathered with plenty of nopales studded cream cheese. It's added in a large amount and is an extremely creamy and fatty substance yet somehow doesn't overwhelm the sandwich. It's warm but not melty. The nopales are clearly there but I didn't find it to contribute much. The pastrami is layered on top of that followed by a ton of sweet brown caramelized onions that are very tender. An entire green chile, roasted and super smoky, is above that. Finally, aleppo mustard is spread on the top slice of bread. Between the green chile and the aleppo, there's a slight warmth that tinges the sandwich. It's nothing too spicy. Instead of chips, we opted to sub the Tomato Soup (no fee). It's very homestyle, full of tomato richness in a thick blend. It has a strong tangy tomato essence. There's basil oil drizzled on top for a boost of freshness. The soup is unfortunately quite a bit too acidic for my tastes, but that's only by itself! While very acidic, the soup is actually great as a balance to the sandwich (along with the pickle of course) since there's so much richness and fat coming in between the bread. (5/5) Proper Meats + Provisions definitely serves some great sandwiches. We were considering visiting again for our 2 full days in Flagstaff, but weren't able to make it because they close so early at 6! Bathrooms - Two unisex rooms Note: Proper Meats charges a 3% credit card fee. This is labeled on the menu
