Alexis was absolutely amazing! she was my right-hand both leading up to the wedding and on the big day itself. She made the entire process stress-free and handled everything smoothly. I genuinely don't know what I would have done without her. Art was also fantastic! He brought such great energy to the night and perfectly matched all the vibes throughout the event. Best place we could have had our ceremony/reception! Alexis and Art are truly the dynamic duo! Alexis was amazing in the months leading up to our special day. She was patient, kind and gave the best ideas to a young couple who knew little to nothing about wedding planning. She was very personable and treated our wedding as the most special day, not as if it were "just another event". She would even stay after hours to accommodate our busy schedules and was very supportive when stress became emotional. Art was such a fun DJ and MC! Crystal Marquis is a beautiful event venue with so much character and a unbeatable price! I knew I loved it when seeing it online but in person is just so much better. My husband and I celebrated our wedding here with all our loved ones. A little back story, we are from CA but live in TX so when it came to getting married we knew we would need to have it in CA to celebrate with our families. Searching for a venue and vendors from out of state is not easy and requires a lot of trust! Upon finding and contacting the team at Crystal Marquis they were very helpful and informative. Alexis!! Was our coordinator throughout the process and she is awesome, detailed and a super woman. Mariah was our coordinator day of and she was super great about making sure the event moved along seemlessly and making any adjustments quickly. All of the staff was very kind! My family had an absolute blast a lot of them said it was the best wedding they have ever been to and they all complimented the food. I would say the only downside or complaint my guests had is how far the other bathrooms are. But I knew that going into it. I loved this building from the start. The vintage vibes were the theme I was going for in my wedding so this fit perfectly! Art was the first person I met with and he was so awesome, so informative and attentive to all our questions. Once we formalized our agreement I was introduced to Mariah and Alexis who would be my wedding coordinator. These girls were AMAZING!!!!!! I wish I could give zero stars. I had a scheduled wedding in 2021 paid and Art ghosted us weeks before our wedding. He has yet to pay us back. I have called him many times with no response and now they have blocked my number! Art had the nerve to give me a call the WEEK of the scheduled wedding asking if we still wanted to have it. Art gave me every excuse in the book and now seeing reviews that he is still hosting events makes me even more upset that he does not even have the decency to return our call or pay us back. I had my wedding reception at the Crystal Marquis in December 2016 and the whole staff was amazing. We booked the venue one year ahead. They are very busy in December as they have holiday parties on top of other events. Art, Art Junior and Nikki along with Leslie were just of so much help. They are a dependable staff and on the day of the reception, they took care of all the details. The only "con" I can think of was the communication during the period of engagement through email as I didn't get responses. We took care of details with phone tagging and visiting the location. So it worked out. The "pro" list could take forever to write and read. The venue was beautiful. This is basically a draft of a 5 star review. The staff was so helpful in accommodating us. We opted to cater from a different place for our dinner reception and the CM staff was great at plating the food and serving our guests. We used their bakers rack for our desserts and I wish I had pictures to show what a great job they did in displaying the desserts. The tables for our guests looked great with the decor from the centerpieces from CM to the plates and napkins. I would recommend this venue100% for a wedding reception. read more

This review is long over due but we finally got a few photos back from our photographer! We found this venue by pure coincidence and it was the best choice we could have ever made for our wedding that we had in March earlier this year! This place is beyond gorgeous and pictures alone do not do it justice. My husband I both knew as soon as we meet Mariah and Alexis that this was the place for us and when we got to take a look at the venue it took my breath away. Alexis and Mariah were so helpful and amazing throughout our entire wedding planning process. We used both the onsite vendor for the DJ (Art aka DJ Squeaker) and photo booth (FOMO Party Booth) and they were both great choices too! A beautiful venue for a wedding. Came here for my friend's wedding mad had a great time. Tons of parking with direct access to the hall. There's plenty of room for dancing, dining and drinking. Their staff work very quickly and always with a smile. The decor is classic and very luxurious. You feel like you're in an elegant yet historic part of town. The bar is huge and the bar service is quick. Food was great and served quickly as well. There's a separate room from the main floor that is great for a photo booth which is what it was used for. The restroom ms are clean and the hallways are well lit. I had a great time and I'm sure the bride and groom did as well. Cheers to the staff for putting on an excellent event. Art Jr and Nikki were truly amazing! They were extremely accommodating and patient with me (bride) I would without a doubt recommend CM to all my friends and family. Just how I pictured everything that's exactly how it was. Their pricing is reasonable. My guest had a great experience and kept saying how good the food was. Art Jr was also my MC and I am glad I made that choice he was AMAZING! I love how they paid attention to everything I wanted and that's what I had. The only complain is the restrooms being downstairs and guest had to walk up and down the stairs, but that wasn't a big deal to me. There's more pros than cons to this venue. It's an excellent venue for any event really but i think a dark color formal event is perfect for this place. 5/5 for the venue. The team behind the night, which includes the wait staff/ servers/ security are the key behind this establishments success. They're direction is nothing short of exceptional. Countless times i was asked if everything was going to my expectations and i had to remind everyone the service was above and beyond. Art, Lesly, art Sr are all so helpful inn anyway possible. Even in giving out quarters to my guests who didn't have that 1 or 2 extra quarter for the metered parking. They accommodated my DJ, my videographer, my ohotoboot personnel and really everyone who attended. They went above and beyond and I'm excited to return and have anoothwr event there. I really have to hand it to the staff at the CM. They really work their tails off. We had our Ceremony and Reception with CM this past October. Let me start by giving you the "bad" My only real issue was the communication. It didn't feel like anyone works here during regular business hours. So if I took a day off, I couldn't really go to the venue and meet with people and iron things out. The earliest time I was ever given to arrive was 3pm during the week. They are closed Sunday/Monday unless there is an event. Leaving a message on the answering machine was almost always pointless, so email was the way to go. With that said, they really do go above and beyond with their service. The building: Old, pretty, beautiful if you appreciate historical value. Restrooms are a bummer, only 1 stall on the main floor, larger restrooms two floors down. Lot's of potential to set the room up and side room in a variety of ways and not feel cramped or cluttered. The staff: Always polite, friendly, funny, reassuring and professional. Nikki and Art Jr, were our main points of contact and they are very thorough...like very. :) They give options and suggestions and bring up the things you don'y think of and what I REALLY appreciated most, is that they do not pressure you into conforming to the way we all picture weddings to be. My (now) Husband and I are some what non traditional and they really appreciated that as well. The offerings: Really...what could be your one stop shop aside from your attire, transportation and part of your cake. We're utilized the CM for our Ceremony, Reception, Pastor, Food, Faux Cake, half of our centerpeices... The CM includes tables, lines, chairs (we upgraded to the gold chiviari chair at an AMAZING price, I couldn't pass it up), centerpieces (if you want), dinner package (Salad, entree, rolls), Soft drinks (not soda), set up, clean up....the list goes on! The price was very very reasonable for many other venues that we visited and contacted. You have to be flexible on certain things but I am so glad that we made the decision to go with the CM. We added the Ceremony package as well, and I can tell you that I was absolutely over the moon that we did. We chose the Penn Park location (I always wanted an outdoor wedding but those can cost $$$, when CM mentioned the outdoor ceremony option, I was sold.) We used their referral for Pastor Alex and it worked out good. Art, Jr. acted as our MC because we forgot about that and he did great as many others can contest to in their reviews. Anything you need!! Today I went with my friend to do some food sampling... Let me tell you, my buddy really enjoyed the various dishes that they have to offer. Very tasty! My wedding was this past weekend and my husband and I are still in awe of how great our experience was with Nicki, Emily, Art Jr. and Pops. They are true professionals and care about their customers. First in the planning stages- I did have to be the initiator with meetings, but they were always willing to accommodate our schedule. Always friendly and answering every request. So leave a message when you call, and send emails. That kept us in communication. Reception decor- this was the key selling point for me. They allow you to use their beautiful center pieces and linens. So we didn't have to purchase flowers and saved alot of money that way. It worked out great. They have other pieces they allow you to use that are versatile. Fake cake was the best!! We used their fake cake and purchases costco cakes for way less. No one had a clue! The MC Art Jr had our guests entertained and kept the energy up!! My husband and I were complimented all night on how much they were having. He kept us informed of everything we needed to know. He also paid attention to guests requests and worked them in to the playlist without hesitation. The food was excellent. They bring it in from a caterer so no kitchen on site and that made me nervous that the food would be cold when served but it wasn't. Food was fresh and hot and the rolls were too. I had contacted venue confirmed and awaited contract. Through this process I was the one following up constantly to assure I would not lose location due to someone else booking. I continued to get reassurance I would not lose my date I was on the calendar. I followed up with staff however no contract ever sent. Just this week I get a call venue has been booked they apologize. Very unprofessional especially after the reassurance from staff now I am unable to find another venue within my time frame. This place is amazIng! I planned my daughter's 18th birthday 6 months ahead. Lesly & team helped me along the way. They were very accommodating & made sure that our needs were met. I've never planned a big event like this & they held my hand throughout the planning stage. The price was also reasonable, food, plating, decors, set up, clean up are all included. I didnt have to worry about a thing. The venue was gorgeous, very art deco & has an old Hollywood feel to it. The food is decent too, i did a sit down dinner & my guests liked it better, less chaotic than a buffet. I wish there were more servers but everyone got their plate. This place also served the cake & opened the champagne without extra fees unlike the other venues. They also allowed us to being our own sodas & champagne which helped put the cost down. We had an open bar & the bartender was super nice. At the end of the night, they gave us back all of the unconsumed drinks. They recommended the photographer & photo booth, both were great too work with. Crystal Marquis collaborates well with their vendors, the vendors then give great discounts to us customers.
