I hesitate to write this because I'm not want to complain about nails or beauty services however I had a very disappointing experience today. I had broken a toenail so I went to get extensions on my front toe as I have an event this weekend and I called beforehand to confirm they would be able to handle it. However, after the extensions were put on the first two toes I realize that they were a lot longer than they should be so I asked them to file them. Again, they were still very long and would've banged into shoes so I asked again kindly if she could please file them shorter to be below the skin. Still, they were too long and uncomfortable so I showed her a picture of what I wanted them to look like and ask that she filed them down once again. It fell as though she was trying to rush because she never once asked are these a good length she just kept proceeding to the next step and I had to stop for each time and ask her to file them down more. By the third time, I realize that I was not going to get what I wanted and it would be better if I just left them as they were and filed them down myself at home I asked her if she could just stop the pedicure without painting or doing anything further she very quickly agreed instead of asking me what the issue was so she could fix it which I also found interesting. I am not one to do something like this, as I have never walked out of an appointment in my life. I really wanted to have nice nails for my event as I rarely treat myself to getting my nails done. However, this experience was not great and I was still charged the full amount of $50, even though my nails were not even painted. I asked twice if that was a correct price and the woman confirmed that it was. I was expecting to at least be charged a little bit less since I did not get them painted or finish the service. Of course, i still tipped as I felt weird about the situation. I called later on to confirm with a manager, but I was told the manager was not in and then I could come back later. Highly disappointed, and wish they wouldve said they werent comfortable doing this service if it wasnt something they often did. Now Im out $50 and will have to do my toes myself. read more

Honestly, the only reason I keep coming back is because they don't charge extra for gel. However, the past several times I've gone, I've been unhappy with my nail tech - they assign the same one every time I come in. The past few times, she's been pretty unprofessional doing my nails - she makes fun of the color choice, made 4 of my nails bleed last time I went, and my nails only ever last 2 weeks MAX which realistically, they should be lasting 3 weeks with gel. This time, I left the salon with my right hand nails being shorter than my left and the shape was horrible. I also specifically asked for one layer of my gel color and she left two layers on my right foot instead of removing the extra layer when I asked. She then proceeded to upcharge me (I assume for asking her to take off the extra coat that she mistakenly put on AFTER I had already asked for one coat) and I know this because I get the same treatment every time I go in (gel pedicure with hard gel manicure) and this time it was $15 more expensive. And I don't believe they've raised their prices in the last 3 weeks since I've been in...anyways, good for the price not for the service read more

Really clean and spacious salon. Nail technician was nice and listened to what I needed. Felt comfortable and well taken care of thru whole experience, even enjoyed a glass of wine while there. The price list said $40 for dip mani though I was charged $45 and $24 for reg pedi and I paid $27-- so just double check that price list is most up-to-date. I love going to this spot during my lunch breaks for a manicure or pedicure. Usually, it's for a pedicure since it is a nice way to relax in the middle of the day before heading back to work. And it's always done in less than an hour and that's including with an Aloe Vera mini-scrub. I don't think it's expensive at all since it's in Manhattan. The price for a pedicure is about $26. The staff is very nice and they have snacks and wine for customers. I'm such a regular that even the owner recognizes me and always makes sure to say hi. read more

The pedicure was fine but the girl who did the manicure was so rough with my hands. She would grab my fingers with her pointy nails and force them to move into the powder instead of just moving the container to fit my fingers. I also get my eyebrows done here, and their wax is gentle enough for my sensitive skin--something I've struggled with at other places. I would say this is a hit or miss, really depending on who you get. Sometimes I'm in and out with a dip manicure and spa pedicure in 1.5 hours and it lasts for 3-4 weeks. This past time I was there, I was there for 2.5 hours for the same service and I had a nail break the following day, and two break later that week. It's well priced and really clean, so I'll probably continue to go there and just avoid that one nail tech unless this becomes a trend. read more

Worst pedicure experience of my life. Paid for a deluxe package and was rushed in and out of the chair in 30 minutes. Barely any cuticle work, cleanup, prep. Gel polish was slapped on my nails. Attention to detail was simply not there. Left feeling upset and scammed. Techs usually do a respectable job and waiting time is generally not very long. But some of the manicurists come off as downright unfriendly. For the entire duration of my recent manicure, the tech was on a phone call ignoring me altogether. And she never thanked me for her tip, not necessarily unusual in this place. I find the vibe often feels unwelcoming and unappreciative of my patronage. Hana, tucked away just past the tunnel on 41st Street, is a beautiful, clean, and big salon with AMAZING prices and excellent service. From the second I walked in to the moment I walked out I had a great experience. The man who runs Hana was warm and welcoming, my nail technician, Nila, made conversation and was incredibly friendly (not to mention she did a kick-ass job on my nails- thorough, and perfectly polished works of art), and another technician helped me into my coat after I finished drying. $9 manicure?! The first time I came here to get a set of SNS nails, it was decent. They make you soak your entire hand in acetone instead of using a drill bit to take them off which I do not appreciate since the acetone is severely drying and the woman filed my nails wonky, but they stayed on longer than two weeks and that was good enough for me. Second time I came, the woman doing them forgot to use white powder base coat. So by the end of the second day wearing them, they were chipping everywhere! Came here last Wednesday to get a gel mani and normal pedicure before leaving for a week vacation on that Saturday. By Friday morning, one of my gel nails had already fully came off and the rest were starting to chip. I went back that afternoon and they added a coat to each nail (which I should have realized was a red flag from the beginning instead of redoing the whole nail to begin with). By Saturday the same nail had chipped again! And now it's Thursday and 4 nails are chipping. My pedicure is completely done as well! For $50 before tip they aren't the cheapest in the neighborhood - so you shouldn't expect cheap quality! Recommend going elsewhere! read more

I usually don't review a lot of places I've visited but this one was a must, in a horrible way. The lady was removing my gel manicure and her tool of choice was a METRO CARD. Of course this was ripping my nails off and hurt pretty badly. When I asked if she could do this the normal way a professional salon should remove nails she put up a fight and was arguing this is the way it's done. Finally after arguing and almost leaving the salon half way through, she put the foils on my other hand and PROPERLY removed the gel manicure. Will never return.
