Unfortunately, I brought her in for a regular manicure on Monday, June 10th, and she reported that she had a terrible experience. I even saw how disorganized it appeared during the five minutes I spent inside. Despite having an appointment, they made her wait for around 30 minutes and switched out the woman doing her nails halfway through. A woman who seemed to be the manager/owner took over and was just rushing and being quite abrupt. Lousy. Went for a pedicure told them it will be without polish, just a clean, natural look - so, less work to be done (at the usual price). The water to soak in maybe had some light soap in it but nothing else, no foaming lather, and I had to ask for it to be warm. The worker did a rush job, and when I asked her to file my toenails further to make them shorter, she said cannot do. Ridiculous, because once home I was able to file them considerably shorter! I asked for a slightly rounded shape and she did straight across with jagged corners. She spent little time on all the other aspects and gave a very minimal massage, asking if I'd like to pay more for a longer one. Overall a dissatisfying experience. Won't return. read more

I walked into salon and was greeted by the salon owner who looked polished and professional. She took my temperature and asked me to sanitize my hands. That made me feel good. I explained to her that I wanted dip powder french with no extensions. She told me the price and sat me with a technician. I am relatively picky as in I know what I like and I will vocalize it; so when technicians don't listen I will tell them again to correct it and if they don't I'll usually just let them do their best and never revisit. However, Jessica (my technician) listened even though I had her change 3 nails and didn't make me feel badly about it. It's funny to write this and think, "well that should be standard", but it isn't always. Anyway, I was happy with the service and happy with my nails. Went for a natural look this time. Every time I come here there is a catch. I live on the same block and try to switch it up. Things like my gel not lasting, a messy job or waiting after making an appointment. After coming in many times (mostly bc of all the gel colors they have) I bought a groupon. The lady mislead me and completely overcharged me. I have gone to this salon perhaps 6 times. I had Lee, Ann & Esther. All do very nice silk wraps. But, on July 19th, I had a pedicure done by Sofie and she made the back of my feet red and raw. I let the owner know, Jen and she said that she would give me a free spa pedicure which I received this past Saturday, the 24th by Esther. That went well and then Esther was doing my silk wrap nails which to me did not need new wraps but I went with it as more money for the salon and Esther as she knew no money to be made off of the free spa pedicure. As I was sitting there, Tenzin, came running over with a timer and out of nowhere started massaging my neck and back. I thought she was joking around as I'm friendly. They stated that they were slow. In any event, she finished the massage that I never asked for and said when you go to pay remember that this was a 20 minute massage not 10. So at the register Esther charged me $110. Then Jen, the owner said you forgot to charge the 20 minute massage. So now became $135 plus I now gave a $20 tip so $155 The next day one of my nails cracked and the gel polish was peeling off. I called and spoke with Jen, the owner, and she said we are busy come tomorrow at 6 with Ann. Well she never wrote it in the book and I walked out telling Tenzin that this is strike 3 and you just lost a customer. So I found another place who repaired my nail and were very nice. It's unfortunate that Nirvana had to stoop to such levels. read more

I've been looking for new nail salon for awhile. The places I've been to have very strong odor for acrylic and I couldn't stand it. Every time I get my nails done it would be so damaged and my nails would crack. I had one of the best pedicures because I had a lot of dead skin on my foot. They also did hot wax treatment at the end which was beautiful. After May was my nail technician, and she absolutely did wonderful job in terms of the length, through work through out the whole time. I really love the new odorless NO acrylic nails. I also received free massage while waiting for my nails to dry. It was like 120% best job ever! I'll definitely be coming back. Also love the owner Jan. She is so kind and they really know how to take care of customers here. I'm very very picky and I don't understand why people would not rate them 5! New favorite nail spot! I used to go to the place by my house in Astoria but came here since they are open late and I were able to fit me in last minute. I got a powder gel manicure for the same price I pay in Queens which is almost unheard of on the UES. The customer service was incredible. It been 2 weeks since I got my powder manicure I had a chip in one finger. The owner didn't charge me anything to fix it the customer service is incredible. I will definitely be coming back here since it's convenient from where I work and the hours are great. I get my nails done very regularly 1-2x a month and this is the first yelp review I have written for a nail salon. I couldn't recommend more! read more

I went in today to have one mail fixed after I got them done less than a week ago. I told the woman on the phone when I called that only one nail needed to be fixed. The nail tech began working on my nail and starting clipping all the tips off. At this point it was too late and one of the other nail techs asked if I only wanted one fixed and I said yes but it was too late so she can just fix my dip color and not add more tips on again even though I paid an extra $30 for them 6 days ago. I was visibly angry and no one even cared. They still charged me the full amount and didn't care about me not being happy. So In the end I was not compensated for their nail techs mistake and it cost me over $200 that past two weeks. Awful place do not go they will suck every penny out of you. read more

Found this place on Yelp, because it's near my boyfriend's apartment. First time in on a Monday. There was no wait (and I didn't make an appointment). Got a mani/pedi. Place is clean enough. My normal place does open things brand new, which here seems like they might just clean it quickly with the warm towel they use from your time together, but unsure. I do think they do a quality job and waiting to see how long it lasts. $35 for mani/pedi, which seems like a lot for up there, but normal for midtown, even though my normal place in midtown is cheaper. Usually that expensive if you're cleaner, which they weren't any more clean then the next. Overall, would go back if it lasts long, we'll see! People were nice though and again, no wait. read more

The pedicure looks fine, but I have two complaints: 1) the entire pedicure was SO short 2) the pedicurist and staff were trying to upsell me on services the entire time 3) kinda pricey! I used to go to this location regularly for either UV gel or regular mani/pedi; no complaints but one day I went into this location to get powder gel(it was my first time getting powder gel). The person who did my nails I'm pretty sure had never completed this service on a customer before. There were over 4 layers of powder my nails felt like I had cement on top of them and to make things worst EVERYONE in the salon KNEW that I had received POOR service and my nails were completely messed up + I was charge $75+ for this. They let me walk out of the salon without offering to fix things. I went home EXTREMELY unhappy and ultimately I ended up calling the salon because my nails were in so much pain from how much product was put on my nails and felt like actual cement on top of each finger. When I called, the head person (assuming manager) picked up the phone and she knew exactly who was on the other line because she knew that I had left the salon with a poor service. I said that they need to remove this from my nails because I was in actual pain, I went the next day and the person who re-did my nails agreed that this was the most unprofessional job with piles of product on each nail, that she took pictures and called the owner. I never received a refund and was offered a lame $10 certificate for a massage.....(btw I still stupidly tipped the people). While this location is very close to my place, I have never, and will never again, return to this location as they do not practice appropriate business ethics to consciously correct an error on an poorly done job unless the customer raises a complaint and demands it to be fixed (keep in mind we're not talking. I have found a much better place that is honest and high quality at a reasonable price in midtown east (i.e., Fashion Space 899 First Ave.) that while I have to spend a bit more time to get to, it's much better across all aspects. Hopefully they'll reconsider doing 'the right thing' because it's not just customer service, it's practice appropriate business ethics and conduct. read more

Finally found my neighborhood spot! Everyone who works here is so friendly. The salon is large, bright and clean and had a relaxing quiet vibe. Yangzen, thank you for educating me on nail maintenance. However, since I have been getting my nails done for years and have visited many salons I am not a novice when it comes to manicure quality. I also don't do manual labor, so I'm not exactly sure what you are referring to when it comes to 'maintenance.' I would also like to add the nails that were re-done on my return visit came off just as quickly as the originals. I also went to another salon and got another dip manicure that lasted for three weeks. So strange that my maintenance skills seemed to improve before reading your review. And it was the condescending attitude that is very blatant in your response that I was referring to when I talked about poor customer service, but that's fine, continue focusing on educating clients about 'nail maintenance.' read more

I went in today for the first time with a Groupon deal for a mani, pedi and 10-minute massage. I have to say this was a great first experience at this salon. My siblings and I were greeted so nicely and quickly seated. The entire staff was pleasant and brought us beverages. My mani was finally done how I want it. I can never find anyone to file my nails in the exact shape I want. Grace understood what I wanted and asked if I wanted a design for just $5 more. I got a design on each ring finger. My 10-minute massage was split into 5 minutes on my feet and 5 minutes on back & shoulders. I'm very happy with all services. I will definitely be back!! read more

The worst customer service ever! I was about to get my nails polished after having my manicure when a new client walked in, so the lady who was doing my nails was asked to take care of a new customer. A manager of the place took over and started polishing my nails up until she got engaged in some sort of discussion with her colleagues, dropped everything and disappeared:-). DO NOT GO HERE. I got a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. It started chipping THE NEXT DAY. It looks like my 14 year old sister painted my nails. The gel is thick and bubbly and filed into the worst nubs I've ever seen. Mind you, my nails were a beautiful, healthy length before the nail tech ruined them.
