This latest visit required a replacement of the bar that raises our door (didn't know that until Ken showed me). There was a crack in it, which resulted in the door not being able to go up. As a result of that issue, the bar that is attached to the door bent due to the strain of the extra weight of trying to life the door. As this occurred on a Sunday night, I went online and easily scheduled an appointment. I liked that I was able to attach photos to show what the issue was before they showed up. Based on the availability of the technicians, you can select the 4 hour window on the day you want. I opted for the 8 am - 12 pm window. Ken Kohlbeck called at 7:25 am to let me know he was about 25 minutes out from arriving at my house. We have a pass through door for the inner garages in our building, but Ken could not get his van in there. While he was parked in the alley, he was considerate in making sure that other cars could get pass him. Ken showed me what the real issue was with the door not going up. I thought it was due to the bar attached to the door, but in fact the bar across the door that takes the majority of the weight was the issue. Ken got to work and took care of the issue in under an hour. He was professional and pleasant to chat with. He explained the repair and made some recommendations for preventative maintenance, which I will schedule for a later day. I thought I could have it done at that time, but Ken did not have enough of the required parts with him. Visit was completed with Ken testing the repairs before leaving and I was happy at the work and the efficiency in Ken's execution as I was working from home and have meetings scheduled for the morning. Again, I am hoping nothing else goes wrong with my doors, but if they do, this is the place I am calling. read more

Nicest people ever on the phone and in person. Yesterday our garage door got stuck and hadn't been closing properly the last few days. Made an appointment this morning at 11 and they came by within 2 hours. Turns out I'm an idiot, a leaf was stuck to the sensor, as we'd leave it was likely getting blown into the sensor and causing the door to reverse. In an attempt to close the door I engaged the rope handle which made it difficult to close. Ryan was very nice, professional and informative, and didn't charge for the visit. Crystal Overhead Door stands by their work. Knowledgeable, honest, and skilled. Got a new garage door from them 1.5 months ago. The door started to make some noises as it opened. It started with a squeak in one of the cables, then more recently, a metallic pop. I wanted it addressed before it did any damage. Called it in over the weekend and they sent a technician out today. First try, we heard the squeak but not the pop. Gus expert that he is, disengaged the door from the motor arm so he could test without the noise from the motor. On the second try we heard the pop. Gus got to adjusting the alignment of the track, while explaining the mechanism and various ways issues could arise. Testing and adjusting until he got consistent quiet operation. The initial install was just off by a little and we're still under their 2 year installation warranty. This was my 2nd service with Crystal and 3rd time being helped by Gus (initial eval, installing a larger bottom seal on the new door and this repair). Nothing I can complain about. And I feel well cared for as a client. read more
