Beware! This company misquoted the cost to close our above ground pool and when we asked about it they came up with this "above ground" versus "on ground" explanation which made absolutely no sense. Customer service would not budge or even attempt to make it right. Also, they act like they're the only game in town and are doing you a favor for overcharging you for their services. Three guys showed up and were here for approx 35 min and did the absolute bare minimum, threw the cover on , with half filled weighters and didn't even tie anything down, we had to basically redo it after they left - $370 later (instead of the $280 that was quoted). Absolute rip off! - safe yourself some aggravation and use someone else for your pool care needs! read more

They have opened my pool two times. Both times they have left without vacuuming, skimming, or adding anything other than shock. They have left my pool cloudy for weeks with no call back and when I finally did get ahold of them they told me it would take weeks for them just to come back to "see" what they can do- it was still cloudy for an additional week. They opened it this week- again did not vacuum or skim. Simply opened it and that was it. I really did like them at first now I'm really not so sure what to think. I just expect more not only for the money I'm paying but for a pool company in general. I will using somebody else next year. read more

I have dealt with Crystal Pools for 23 years. They are great in all respects as far as I'm concerned.they are great in all respects as far as I'm concerned.I read through some of the negative comments and felt they were really unfair. The guy that asked about the pump cost needs to understand that at the beginning of the season pumps were nearly impossible to get because of all the problems with ocean shipping and everybody trying to open their pool at the same time. The complaints I believe are really without Merritt and those people that wrote those complaints should have a little consideration for a business that struggles to keep supplies in a global shortage situation on nearly everything. The person that complained that they could not give an opening date, needs to understand that opening the pool and closing the pools are scheduled up to a year or more in advance. The woman that complain they open the pool and shocked it and walked off, I think needs to review what the agreement was. Were they to open and then maintain the pool? Or, were they simply expected to remove the cover and shock the pool which is typically what happens in an opening read more

My pool pump died, I called Crystal on Thursday for pricing on 1.5, 1.8, 2.0 and variable pumps. I was told they couldn't tell me the prices because they change every day (first red flag). Well I'm in a jam so I went there on Friday anyways in person. The boy who helped me asked what model and part number my pump was, I explained I didn't know but it shouldn't matter since the dead one is a 1 HP and I want a bigger one like the fore mentioned sizes. He asked me to give him a minute which turned into 10. Then a girl came out and asked what kind of pump I had and I informed her all I knew was it's a Hayward but again explained to her it should not matter since I was looking to upgrade to a bigger pump and I am giving them 4 options to sell to me. She said she needs a minute which turned into another 10. Then the original boy came back and said we only have 1 HP pumps. So 2 people and 20 minutes later I drove to pool pro and bought a new pump! read more

These people will take advantage of you. My parents are first time pool owners and thought it would be wise to hire professionals. First the store was not willing to give a specific time for the pool opening, so my mom had to wait around all day. Then two "kids" came and dumped all the debris from the top of pool cover right into the pool, which included a thick layer of leaves. They turned on the pump, dumped in some pool shock and called it done. They left some instructions of flushing the filter and replacing DE when the pressure gets too high - nothing about what to do with the debris that are now on the bottom. We had to use the internet to look up how to use the pool vacuum. My parents proceeded to using 6 bags of DE, re-shocking, and cleaning the pool 10 days straight. When my mom complained to the store manager, he responded by selling her more pool chemicals. These people are professional scammers. Do not use. read more

Crystal Pool opened our pool this year mid-May, it is now July and we are still not able to use it. There have been several issues and it takes forever to fix it. They do not come out when they say they will and it takes WEEKS for any work that they are scheduled to do. Always an excuse without backing up their promise. I have been doing business with Crystal Industries since I installed my pool 10 years ago. I have purchased all of my liquid chlorine there, their price in the last few years has increased on the clorine seems every time I go. I recently closed my pool and purchased 2, 5 gallon containers of chlorine and only used one, when I brought the unused container back I was harassed by first the person at the counter then a supervisor then a manager. I was told my receipt was over by 4 days of the 30 day notice. When I explained my relationship with the store being a 10 year valued customer I was told there was nothing they could do. Horrible customer service, none, no customer relationships and overpriced products. I have found another distributor in Woonsocket, RI which offers the same product for $10 to Crystal's almost $20. I will never return, they have lost a valued customer. read more

My Aquabot pool cleaner developed a problem where it would only rotate in place. They are listed as an authorized Aquabot service center so I took mine there for service. The tech was unable to diagnose the problem and wanted to charge $75 for time spent. I already knew the problem is likely in the wired control box which controls the direction but the tech said he tried changing the belts and bearings and really did not know how to go about diagnosing the problem. He even called me to ask what the problem was despite my explanation when dropping it off. The nice manager agreed to waive the charges and would have the tech put the old belts back on and would call when ready. I asked the tech if he had tried running the machine before calling me. He assured me it was unnecessary. I brought it home and turned it on but it is rattling and the belts are not turning properly. I had all the belts replaced the previous season and everything was working fine but for the rotation. The manager indicated that they have not been given good support from Aquabot. My only complaint really is the tech should have understood the problem prior to changing the belts and made certain the unit was given back in the same condition I brought it in especially if he didn't know how to diagnose the problem. My review only refers to this matter which has been a big PITA for me since I live so far away. They seemed friendly. read more
