I am so happy to have a deeper understanding of the history of Aspen and how it has become the music / art / thought leader that it is today. Well worth it particularly for the reasonable price and ability to ask any question that occurred to me (it was a small tour). I would recommend it to everyone - the walking was easy but covered a meaningful amount of downtown Aspen.

Stopped here to ask about lunch & to find a loo in Marble yesterday, a town of 133 people,…read moreaccording to the 2020 U.S. Census, and a town my dad loved & showed me in 2008, and met beautiful people, Lynn and Vickie, who listened to my love for my dad, gave me hugs, and gave me a map to find the happy public restrooms in this friendly artist & historic marble quarry mountain town, beloved my dad & now me. After enlightening & encouraging chit chats with both Lynn & Vickie inside, Vickie gave me a tour outside of her husband, Rex Branson's, and her art work, which I found beautiful & fascinating. I asked if I could take pictures, and got their business card, then found them online later. Inquired if/how they deliver, and they do & can! And they can guide me as to all the equipment I'd need on the other end to receive such a huge, heavy piece of beautiful white marble art work, hopefully / potentially one day for my dad's, now my, house in Denver, in our backyard, as a heartfelt tribute to my dad & our journey here. Per Wikipedia, the white marble from this historic quarry has been used in Washington, D.C., for the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (important to me, given my dad was a Vietnam Veteran, and my grandfather a WWII Veteran) and the Washington Monument. It's also been used in equally important cities to my dad & me: San Francisco and New York City. Absolutely loved meeting & chatting with Lynn & Vickie yesterday, as it was exactly what I needed, and the purpose for this mountain trip! To remind me of my roots, and to help me fall back in love with my home state of Colorado. I had so many questions for Vickie about how they carve marble into round, smooth shapes, and she invited me back to watch them make art in July. I can't wait to return next summer!

There's free parking near the F Street Bridge, including fairly large lots on the other side from Riverside Park. We learned a lot about the history of Salida, the architecture, and some exciting historical events all within a few blocks on F Street! It was a beautiful day. The trees were flowering. Tourist season hadn't quite started, yet. It was an easy walk and there was often seating, if needed. Along the way, we passed some lovely eateries. We walked along the riverwalk afterwards, ate at a local restaurant, and bought stuff after window shopping. For those who play Pokemon Go, there were 2 gyms and many Pokestops along the way. That colorful tree (gym) really is a colorful tree! Go find it!

Trace, the owner, was incredibly kind, informative, patient, and accommodating. He made sure we understood everything before we headed out, and I felt comfortable and confident the entire time. The side-by-side was very well maintained and worked perfectly throughout our trip. I had no trouble driving it or riding on the roads and trails, and we were able to just relax and enjoy the experience without worrying about the equipment. The trails themselves were so much fun, with absolutely beautiful mountain views and vistas along the way. Trace gave us great recommendations based on what we were looking for, and our favorite was a trail that followed an old railroad line up the mountain. It was such a unique and memorable ride, with incredible scenery along the way. Trace really helped make the experience special. We got off to a bumpy start here as there was a mechanical issue the day prior that canceled our initial reservation. Thankfully, they were able to move some stuff around and make it work for us on our second day in town so we could enjoy the snow ride, which was high on our list as a bunch of Southern California girls who never see the snow. We arrived all bundled up but the blankets in the sleigh were much appreciated as well. After our sleigh ride, they offered to give us a tour of the mine as well, which was an unexpected but nice gesture.
