After stopping at several locations along the way, we finally arrived at The Ritz-Carlton Club, Vail, and from the moment you pull in, you immediately understand why this place is special. As soon as you arrive, the valet staff greets you right away. The Ritz truly offers full-service hospitality. You simply take any personal items you want with you and head inside to check in while they handle everything else. They unload all of your luggage, neatly place any loose items into a nice bag, park your vehicle, and once they see you've made it to your room, your luggage is delivered shortly after. Walking through the front doors, there is a table set up with hand lotion, several different SPF sunscreens, hand sanitizer, and baskets of washcloths for guests returning from outside activities -- a very thoughtful touch. Check-in was quick and effortless. The staff explained the amenities, where everything was located, and then off to our room we went. We stayed in a two-bedroom unit, and when we opened the door we were immediately impressed. The decor was beautiful and upscale without feeling overdone. The entryway included a half bath, followed by a dining area and small bar setup. The kitchen featured Bosch and Breville appliances, which added to the luxury feel. The living room had a sofa bed, comfortable seating, and a large tv over the fireplace that made the room feel very cozy and a balcony looking at the slops. Both bedrooms were nearly identical and absolutely stunning, each with: a huge king bed, a large bathroom, heated floors, a separate shower and Jacuzzi tub, and double sinks. One of the bedrooms also had a balcony. Every evening starting around 4 p.m., the resort hosts different socials including cookies, wine tastings, and later bourbon tastings. It really added to the overall experience and made the property feel even more welcoming and luxurious. There is honestly so much more I could say about this property, but overall we absolutely loved our stay. If you are looking for one of the best places to stay in Vail, this is it.

Well appointed room, spotlessly clean and fully equipped with all the little luxuries. It has a steam room, and outdoor pool and a very nice lounge for chilling apres ski. There is a shuttle to and from the Arabelle where you have a very short walk to the lift. There's also a tent there where you check your skis and poles so you don't have to schlep them back to the hotel. The shuttle takes all of 90 seconds. Wonderful friendly staff and valet parking - free for the first car. Highly recommended!

Our greeter/docent, Jane was a walking encyclopedia of fun facts and interesting stories about Aspen. It was easy to visualize Aspen's growth and how it evolved from humble beginnings as a poor mining town to the Aspen we all know as the place that only the very rich can afford to ski and play and live.

There's free parking near the F Street Bridge, including fairly large lots on the other side from Riverside Park. We learned a lot about the history of Salida, the architecture, and some exciting historical events all within a few blocks on F Street! It was a beautiful day. The trees were flowering. Tourist season hadn't quite started, yet. It was an easy walk and there was often seating, if needed. Along the way, we passed some lovely eateries. We walked along the riverwalk afterwards, ate at a local restaurant, and bought stuff after window shopping. For those who play Pokemon Go, there were 2 gyms and many Pokestops along the way. That colorful tree (gym) really is a colorful tree! Go find it!

We saw wild flowers, two lakes, avalanche destruction, water falls, the famous Crystal Mill, and so much more. Our favorite part for our two teenage boys was standing up in the jeep and taking it all in. My 74 year old mother also stood up for a little bit! So this experience is for all adventure lovers. This is a family owned and operated business that's been around for decades. They are friendly and professional Our guide was so informative and fun, but he was also cautious and safe! The last half hour I realized I was happy that we didn't do the longer loop because all the jostling and bumping was catching up to me. It was still worth it, but I was ready to be done.

We got off to a bumpy start here as there was a mechanical issue the day prior that canceled our initial reservation. Thankfully, they were able to move some stuff around and make it work for us on our second day in town so we could enjoy the snow ride, which was high on our list as a bunch of Southern California girls who never see the snow. We arrived all bundled up but the blankets in the sleigh were much appreciated as well. After our sleigh ride, they offered to give us a tour of the mine as well, which was an unexpected but nice gesture.

It was more of a historical tour of Breckenridge, which might have been okay; however, the guide kept getting details confused, correcting herself, and then getting confused again. She did have an iPad with a supposed picture of a ghost that she shared, but even the kids in our group could identify it as a bad photoshop. All in all, we felt it was false advertising regarding the content of the tour and the presentation was not that entertaining.
