Allows customers to enter space and wait in line while leaving space for people to exit/ wait to pick up their drink. First come, first serve for pastries - expect this for freshness purposes. Drink and their components are measured for consistency and quality control. Wait is subjective in relation to volume at the time which you go. Came in at about 1:30 PM on a Sunday (today was 8/16). Curated menu for their specialty drinks that aligns with their identity. Standard menu for espresso based beverages. Great selection for their Single Origin menu. Roasters they use align with those they highlight on their shelves for retail as a multi-roaster cafe. Ordered a Columbia from Hydrangea - enjoyed thoroughly! When it was still quite hot you get the heavy aroma and flavor of the pastry notes in the coffee. Then more tea-like once it cools down more. Coldbrew in the Woodman did not feel like your typical bold-in-flavor base. Which I think works for the inclusions in the beverage. Not your typical/second wave coffee shop. Worst coffee shop experience I've ever had. The customer service was nonexistent, the staff showed no compassion, and no one was willing to help with a very simple situation. It was 7:58 a.m., and I stopped in to grab my usual coffee before my appointment next door. I accidentally left my wallet at home, my Apple Pay wasn't working, and the only cash I had was a $100 bill. My total was only $8.50. I even offered a simple solution--I asked if another employee could pay for my coffee and I would immediately Zelle them the money. All three employees told me that was "beyond their job duties" and refused to help. Instead, they pointed to the sign stating they don't accept $100 bills and had me leave without making any effort to accommodate a regular customer. The disappointing part isn't that they couldn't break a $100 bill--it's that no one showed even the slightest willingness to help find a solution. I come here almost every Friday because I have appointments at the salon next door, and after this experience, I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I'm a sucker for coffee shops that make everything in house and that's what this place does. I was intrigued by their Cloud Menu. I ordered the Magnolia which is their espresso cloud drink and my husband got the Balboa which is their matcha cloud drink. The coffee was good and I enjoyed the house made Mexican vanilla cream top. I stopped by here after my friend mentioned she really enjoyed a specific matcha latte with white chocolate on top (snow latte). I ordered the same latte, and really enjoyed it. It is sweet but not too sweet and you can still taste the matcha. It's tough to find a creamy matcha latte where the matcha taste is still present. Today's coffee adventure brought us to Lynx Coffee. We've been hearing for a while that they have amazing drinks, so since we started our morning early, we decided to stop by right when they opened. I ordered the praline iced coffee, and my boyfriend ordered "The Snow" a matcha topped with Mexican vanilla cream. Came by around 8 AM on a Monday and was surprised that there was no line. I ordered the Balboa with almond milk, which brought my total to almost $10. My drink came out super fast. While it's definitely on the pricier side, I have to admit, it was really good. The drink was creamy, flavorful, and not overly sweet, which I appreciated. Even though I can't justify spending that much regularly, I do think it's worth trying at least once. I'll definitely be back to try some of their other drinks. Finally got to check out this coffee shop. I was afraid of the parking but I did find one spot on the street in the residential area but it was still packed. There is valet parking in the back alley though. We went inside and it was crowded outside and inside. I noticed it's always packed when I pass by and this time was no different. We ordered our drinks and the girl in front was nice enough to let us take our time and choose what we wanted. However, took a minute to get my drink while my friend got her matcha pretty quick hence why the picture shows her drink is almost gone lol. Usually it's not that easy to find a good matcha spot. A lot of matchas I've had are either overly sweet or too light/too much milk. I think Lynx Coffee has it right on the nose. They offer a variety of different matcha drinks (along as coffee, etc) I tried their Kettl Himata Iced Matcha with honey and almond milk. It was so worth it. I actually asked the man at the register his opinion on what I should get as far as a matcha but not too sweet and this is what he says he usually sticks to. I unfortunately didn't get his name but he has great taste and recommended exactly what I was looking for! :) This cafe was pretty busy inside and out. The inside isn't too big but they have seating outside as well. The workers making and serving the coffee have a great flow going amongst themselves. As busy as it was they got out everyone's orders pretty quick. Shoutout to the workers for handling the rush so gracefully. This coffee queen finally made it over here and I am glad I did! There was a long line but it moved quickly. The Barista's were very friendly and helpful in explaining each drink to the customers. It was a warm & sunny day so I went with an Ice Coffee...I wasn't sure which one to get so I decided to go with the "Magnolia," after reading my fellow YE Angela's review. Cool interior and nice details. I love the variety of matcha that they offer. They had jeju, hinata, kao, and uji hamare as their matcha options and had Asamiya hojicha as well. The guy that sold it to me had no clue what a Spinn was and therefore didn't tell me to adjust my settings. What surprised me was that none of these guys (yes, they are all guys there which is odd) had any knowledge of the brand Spinn. When selling premium coffee at premium prices, I'd expect at least a working knowledge of the major high-end coffee makers your customers are using. When I brought the issue up, I asked if they could at least offer a complimentary coffee for the inconvenience, but they refused to do anything. Disappointing experience overall. When I asked if he could add a tiny bit more, he said no it's a preset recipe but he literally DID NOT measure the cream top, he just poured one drop out of a jug. If you know me, I'm always checking out new coffee shops to try locally! This one is located on Ventura so parking was a bit rough as per usual. Of course, another coffee shop I found on TikTok caught my attention, so I had to see if it lived up to the hype. I got there around 9:50 a.m there was a short line out the door (about three people), but it started getting crowded soon after. I do wish they had a menu outside since the only one is inside by the straws, lids, and register. Luckily, I already knew what I wanted: the Praline Latte and a Matcha Latte. It took a bit of time at first, but once you order, the line moves pretty quickly. The shop itself is small and can feel a little crowded, but they do have an outdoor seating area. The Snow was really good: great matcha taste with a unique blend of Mexican vanilla cream. They also have your traditional coffee drinks with single origin and matcha options. They also sell specialty coffee beans, and I picked up a bag from Prodigal roasters. The ambiance is clean and open, with small seating inside. I liked their open coffee bar where you can see staff make drinks. There was a line out the door, but it moves fairly quickly. Went here a few weeks ago. Ordered a cold brew and a Matcha Snow. Both were pretty good, the matcha was better than the cold brew. The matcha snow has a Mexican vanilla cream top which was pretty good and it also features a "snow garnish" (which felt a little gimmicky). I was very surprised by Lynx. I had heard about the shop through a friend and also seen it as a new-er shop in the area on social media, so I decided to check it out for a morning drink and spend some time knitting at the cafe. Parking is available on the side streets that border the shop for 2 free hours. I came in on a Friday morning and the line was so long that I was outside the door. There is far more outdoor seating than indoor but it was cold that morning so I wanted to try and find indoor seating. Most patrons get their drinks to-go which I would recommend for this location as I will get into shortly. The menu has several drinks and types of coffees and matcha though it is pricy for what you order. Alternative milks (oat, almond) are 50 cents extra as well as sweetener. Simply put, the most off putting part of my visit to Lynx was the ambiance. The decor of the shop is minimalistic (fine) but the layout of how seating is arranged must be awful feng shui as if you sit in the shop and enjoy your order for even just 45 minutes (like myself) you will begin to experience a strange almost hostile architecture-like environment. Just typing this sounds strange to me and I was literally there but they desperately need to reorder their interior. Other reviewers have also noted that this place feels eerie and has a strange vibe. Snow (iced matcha) 3.5/5, this was okay. It appears to be predominantly white prior to mixing (stirring sticks available) and the matcha is overpowered by the chocolate mixes involved, making it a very sweet drink. I would recommend trying out their matcha latte over this as it didn't satisfy the matcha craving I was trying to fix.
