I'm a sucker for coffee shops that make everything in house and that's what this place does. I was intrigued by their Cloud Menu. I ordered the Magnolia which is their espresso cloud drink and my husband got the Balboa which is their matcha cloud drink. The coffee was good and I enjoyed the house made Mexican vanilla cream top. I bought a very expensive bag of coffee here -- $26 for just 8 ounces of beans -- and it ended up clogging my Spinn coffee maker. The guy that sold it to me had no clue what a Spinn was and therefore didn't tell me to adjust my settings. What surprised me was that none of these guys (yes, they are all guys there which is odd) had any knowledge of the brand Spinn. When selling premium coffee at premium prices, I'd expect at least a working knowledge of the major high-end coffee makers your customers are using. When I brought the issue up, I asked if they could at least offer a complimentary coffee for the inconvenience, but they refused to do anything. Disappointing experience overall. Today's coffee adventure brought us to Lynx Coffee. We've been hearing for a while that they have amazing drinks, so since we started our morning early, we decided to stop by right when they opened. I ordered the praline iced coffee, and my boyfriend ordered "The Snow" a matcha topped with Mexican vanilla cream. Let me tell you... these drinks are not only beautiful to look at, they taste just as good too. Both were creamy, flavorful, and perfectly crafted. You can really tell they put care into every drink. One thing to keep in mind it gets busy quickly, and street parking can be limited. Cool interior and nice details. I love the variety of matcha that they offer. They had jeju, hinata, kao, and uji hamare as their matcha options and had Asamiya hojicha as well. I got the hojicha without any sweetener and regular milk (they have lactaid tablets next to the napkin station - love the thoughtfulness although I don't need it)! The hojicha was decent, but a bit powdery. Seems like not a lot of people order the hojicha, and they had to make a new batch. I would probably try their matcha next time! I've been hearing a lot about this place and wanted to try it out. I went here on a Friday afternoon and there was a lot of street parking that was close by. Stopped by Lynx Coffee this morning to check it out and had a really nice first experience. I grabbed a mocha latte and a blueberry muffin --both were solid and definitely hit the spot for a quick start to the day. What stood out most, though, was the ambiance. Snow Matcha 8.2/10 -- as a strong matcha lover, the matcha was just a bit too milky for me. But I would get it again if I'm feeling my sweet tooth come on. Finally got to check out this coffee shop. I was afraid of the parking but I did find one spot on the street in the residential area but it was still packed. There is valet parking in the back alley though. We went inside and it was crowded outside and inside. I noticed it's always packed when I pass by and this time was no different. We ordered our drinks and the girl in front was nice enough to let us take our time and choose what we wanted. However, took a minute to get my drink while my friend got her matcha pretty quick hence why the picture shows her drink is almost gone lol. I almost got the praline but the girl said it's on the sweeter side and it only comes in 12oz so I got the latte instead with the Mexican vanilla 16oz which I'm sure tasted like the praline since that was has Mexican vanilla as well. We got to sit down inside even though it was crowded. Really cool spot to sit down at to hang out but idk if I'd do work here since it's loud and not much space. There are tables outside as well. Usually it's not that easy to find a good matcha spot. A lot of matchas I've had are either overly sweet or too light/too much milk. I think Lynx Coffee has it right on the nose. They offer a variety of different matcha drinks (along as coffee, etc) I tried their Kettl Himata Iced Matcha with honey and almond milk. It was so worth it. I actually asked the man at the register his opinion on what I should get as far as a matcha but not too sweet and this is what he says he usually sticks to. I unfortunately didn't get his name but he has great taste and recommended exactly what I was looking for! :) This cafe was pretty busy inside and out. The inside isn't too big but they have seating outside as well. The workers making and serving the coffee have a great flow going amongst themselves. As busy as it was they got out everyone's orders pretty quick. Shoutout to the workers for handling the rush so gracefully. This coffee queen finally made it over here and I am glad I did! There was a long line but it moved quickly. The Barista's were very friendly and helpful in explaining each drink to the customers. It was a warm & sunny day so I went with an Ice Coffee...I wasn't sure which one to get so I decided to go with the "Magnolia," after reading my fellow YE Angela's review. Glad I did because it was perfection! Strong, full bodied and flavorful! It was a little pricey but I find most "mom & pop" coffee shops are now. At least the cup wasn't teeny tiny like many of them are. There is limited seating inside and a few tables out front. I want to go back for a hot coffee next time. *Parking on the streets only. If you know me, I'm always checking out new coffee shops to try locally! This one is located on Ventura so parking was a bit rough as per usual. We luckily got parking right in front as a guy was leaving. It was also on a weekend so it felt busier than usual. Of course, another coffee shop I found on TikTok caught my attention, so I had to see if it lived up to the hype. I got there around 9:50 a.m there was a short line out the door (about three people), but it started getting crowded soon after. I do wish they had a menu outside since the only one is inside by the straws, lids, and register. Luckily, I already knew what I wanted: the Praline Latte and a Matcha Latte. It took a bit of time at first, but once you order, the line moves pretty quickly. The shop itself is small and can feel a little crowded, but they do have an outdoor seating area. It's a popular spot, so finding a seat can be tricky. The Praline Latte was my favorite creamy, slightly nutty, and delicious. The Snow was really good: great matcha taste with a unique blend of Mexican vanilla cream. They also have your traditional coffee drinks with single origin and matcha options. I was very surprised by Lynx. I had heard about the shop through a friend and also seen it as a new-er shop in the area on social media, so I decided to check it out for a morning drink and spend some time knitting at the cafe. Parking is available on the side streets that border the shop for 2 free hours. I came in on a Friday morning and the line was so long that I was outside the door. There is far more outdoor seating than indoor but it was cold that morning so I wanted to try and find indoor seating. Most patrons get their drinks to-go which I would recommend for this location as I will get into shortly. The menu has several drinks and types of coffees and matcha though it is pricy for what you order. Alternative milks (oat, almond) are 50 cents extra as well as sweetener. Simply put, the most off putting part of my visit to Lynx was the ambiance. The decor of the shop is minimalistic (fine) but the layout of how seating is arranged must be awful feng shui as if you sit in the shop and enjoy your order for even just 45 minutes (like myself) you will begin to experience a strange almost hostile architecture-like environment. Just typing this sounds strange to me and I was literally there but they desperately need to reorder their interior. Other reviewers have also noted that this place feels eerie and has a strange vibe. Snow (iced matcha) 3.5/5, this was okay. It appears to be predominantly white prior to mixing (stirring sticks available) and the matcha is overpowered by the chocolate mixes involved, making it a very sweet drink. I would recommend trying out their matcha latte over this as it didn't satisfy the matcha craving I was trying to fix. Furthermore; for $8.5 + 0.5 for alternate milk, this was exceptionally pricy for what it is. read more

Hurray for another local coffee shop! Stopped by for an afternoon pick me up and ordered an iced latte with the muscovado syrup and an iced matcha latte with the cream foam. The muscovado syrup was so unique! Such a good flavor. It's basically just a brown sugar syrup but it was a really nice addition to the latte. The matcha latte was good. I was a little confused at first because I saw them make it and it was a giant cup of almond milk and then they topped it off with the matcha from a squeeze bottle. I asked about what that was, and they said they use matcha concentrate. I was concerned the ratio of match and milk was weird, but once I shook it up it blended nicely. Also the cream foam on top is an amazing touch. So delicious! Lots of unique flavorings and syrups on the menu. Not a ton of seating inside, but they do have a few tables outside. The shop is super minimalistic so it was hard to get like the overall vibe of the place. Had a hard time reading the menu because it was taped in front of the cashier, so unless you were ordering you can't see it. Later I noticed they had another menu taped up on the wall but it was easy to miss. They have a couple menu items but I didn't try them this time.
