Smallish Cub with wildly overpriced items. Like many other Cubs, this one seems to have trouble finding good deli staff.

To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this correspondence as a formal complaint concerning the conduct of an employee at your store during my visit yesterday, 7/11/26 between 1:20 pm -- 1:30 pm. The treatment I received was unacceptable, inconsistent with reasonable customer service standards, and warrants immediate review by Cub Foods management! I approached the guest services counter for the lawful purpose of completing a purchase using United States coin currency, specifically quarters. At all times, I remained calm, respectful, and cooperative. Despite this, the employee refused to assist me. Rather than professionally explaining any store policy or attempting to resolve the situation, she made a dismissive remark, abruptly terminated the interaction, and walked away, leaving me standing at the counter without assistance! Equally troubling was the employee's demeanor. She displayed what I reasonably perceived to be open hostility, including an angry facial expression and narrowed eyes immediately before walking away. Her conduct conveyed contempt rather than professionalism and left me feeling humiliated and publicly disrespected. The employee represented herself as a manager. However, I observed that her name tag did not identify her as holding a managerial position. I request that Cub Foods determine whether she was, in fact, authorized to represent herself in that capacity. I am Latino, and I left this interaction with a genuine concern that I was treated differently because of my ethnicity. While I recognize that only a thorough investigation can determine the motivation for an employee's conduct, I cannot ignore the fact that I experienced treatment that was markedly discourteous, dismissive, and degrading. Every customer, regardless of race, ethnicity, or national origin, is entitled to equal treatment, dignity, and respect while conducting ordinary business. Accordingly, I request that Cub Foods promptly investigate this incident, including reviewing any available surveillance footage, identifying all employees involved, determining whether company policies or standards of conduct were violated, and taking whatever corrective action is appropriate. I also request a written response outlining the findings of your investigation and the measures implemented to ensure that customers are treated professionally and respectfully going forward. Organizations are ultimately judged not only by the policies they publish, but by the conduct they permit. I sincerely hope Cub Foods will treat this matter with the seriousness it deserves and demonstrate its commitment to providing all customers with fair, respectful, and professional service. We went back to Cub Foods for my second daughter's high school graduation party. We ordered a full-sheet cake this time. Many of the guests commented how delicious the cake was...and it was! I would highly recommend Cub Foods' bakery for decorated cakes. read more

We just had an absolutely amazing Thanksgiving dinner thanks to Cub Foods in Forest Lake! We picked up our meal, brought it home and 90 minutes later we had this fantastic dinner---super easy! Great prices and good selection of food. Checkout was easy and fast with plenty of open lines. You do need to bag your own groceries.

These seemed to be plenty of checkout lines open, which sometimes doesn't happen on busy weekend days. The cashier was friendly and quick. There was plenty of inventory on the sale items. read more

I have shopped here since moving here 5 years ago. I like Cub but I do miss Hy Vee. Compared to festival, Cub has alot of work to do. Festival is smaller but their meat case is fantastic. The quality of meat seems much better. Let's talk staff. Festival is out going, nice, friendly. Cub recently has been dismissive to rude. Especially lately. I don't have to shop here. It's convenient. If anything were this close, I wouldn't bother with Cub. There needs to be a "smile in every isle". read more

I always find what I need and the prices are generally spot on. The staff has practically no turnover so they get to know the customers and know their store like the back of their hand. I am always disappointed when I go to another store in the area in an act of convenience. I generally curse myself when I do and vow to never do it again!! read more

I walked into the store looking for some sweet potatoes and when all of the signs said yams, I was super confused. I don't know the difference but Darryl did!!! He was so incredibly helpful he even knew the ratio of cub food shoppers that prefer the specific potato we were looking at to all the other ones. So for Thanksgiving of 2016 we order a thanksgiving dinner through the Forest Lake Cub foods. What a horrible experience we had the turkey was burnt so we couldn't get into that. The gravy was like water, everything had drained into my daughters truck do to the way they packed everything. We called and complained about it and they said they would make it right. This is how they made it right remember we paid $80.00 for this and they only sent us a $25.00 Cub gift certificate. I'm thinking about placing an ad with the paper as well as all online that I can. How else can they ruin a holiday. What a shame we will no longer shop at a cub foods store. read more

I have gone to this CUB many times, lately I have been going to the Vadnais Heights one because it is more convenient for me. This time I was in Forest Lake doing other errands and decided to stop in this location to pick up a few items. When It came to check out time, I wasn't greeted by the cashier, but a dirty look and asked if I was ready or not? I had most of my things on the belt and was unloading the rest of my cart... I said yes- she proceeded with my items. I am also part of the WIC program, I had picked out 3 frozen juices.. the same 3 I pick out every time I go to cub- she mentioned that one of the juices isn't part of the program, I said that was fine and to put it on the next bill with my other items... she snarled and asked if she did something to offend me? I said well your attitude is a little inappropriate.. From there on she snapped at me about how I was being rude and wrong? I said I don't know if you've had a bad day but I am still a customer and I will be speaking to your manager about this. She said well why don't you just do it right now and called him over. He helped me load up my groceries as she began to throw them down the belt at me...I did get to speak to the manager about what had happened he said he didn't know if she was having a bad day or what was going on, it also was 10 min to the end of her shift but he said he would talk to her and apologized. I could not believe the way I was treated by this women- I don't care how long of a day you've had, you do not take it out on a customer. Even if the customer is wrong, the customer is still right- or at least make them feel that way... I am 8 months pregnant and work two jobs 60+ hours a week- I cant imagine treating any of my customers this way! -- I will no longer be going to this location- I probably had a longer day than she did and I don't deserve to be treated this way.
