This was one of our last meals in Key West, and I needed some more Cuban food in my life before leaving the island. We looked no further than this outdoor restaurant. Not only does this place have excellent food, but they're also roasting their own coffee beans next to the restaurant. There's a shop where you can see how the coffee is roasted and make a purchase to bring some of the coffee home with you. Overall, the food was excellent and the ambiance was great in a quite, shaded area of the neighborhood. I highly recommend dropping by here! read more

Had the Cuban mix at 8am with the caramel Iced Coffee (Cafe Con Leche). So wonderful!!! I like my iced coffee less sweet but wanted to give it a try the way they make it first. *The iced coffee is already made in gallon jugs.* They add a bunch of caramel sauce to the cup, then pour in the coffee/milk mix from the jug, stir it real good then add the coffee ice cubes. It was good but a bit too sweet for me. For the next one, I may ask them to add less caramel and add extra coffee ice cubes. The Cuban mix sandwich was excellent. I'll definitely go back for that before I leave Key West! The folks working there were very friendly. read more

Loved the friendly encounter with Marius and staffs at the roaster next to the restaurant. They let us smelled all the famous coffee beans and gave us very detailed information regarding the roasting process and how each flavor was defined. We learned so much more about coffee and Cuban coffee in less than 30min. Will never forget how friendly and hospitable all the staffs were. Will definitely come back. Cuban Coffee Queen is my absolutely favorite java spot in Key West. I long for it when I'm away and I frequent it (sometimes) multiple times a day. The coffee ice cubes are killer and keep your iced coffee from becoming watery if you like to slowly enjoy your brew. I love to add the vanilla power and a shot of bucci for extra kick! Food is also great, and now with the little merchandise store attached you can pick up the city's best (in my opinion) Key West shirt with the y being a rooster. Love CCQ! read more

In KW we stayed at a guesthouse that had terrible Folger's. After two days, we discovered Cuban Coffee Queen five minutes away. I love good Cuban coffee. This is really good Cuban coffee, but what makes it better is the mash-up between Cuban coffee and your typical coffee drinks like lattes and macchiatos. It's really good stuff and very satisfying. I'll keep this one short since the experience was less than stellar. I visited Cuban Coffee Queen Downtown on my way out of Key West to head back to Miami. What better way to kick off your day than with a Cuban Colada! Unfortunately, I should have gotten it elsewhere. It was the Columbus Day weekend and many businesses were closed that Monday morning resulting in limited choices for breakfast that were quick and easy. They had decent reviews on Yelp so I decided to give them a try. First off, they was 2 people ahead of me when I arrived. It took waaaaaaaaay too long for the cashier to take the order especially since their orders weren't complex or long. The prices are reasonable where you can get1/2 sandwich and a coffee for about $5. This was a hit for me since I had done reasonable damage over the weekend and felt better about eating 1/2 a sandwich than an entire one lol 15 minutes later, I still hadn't received my sandwich. Long story short, they gave my order to the wrong people, They took a bite into it and after the 3rd bite realized it was not what they ordered. Around that time, I was going back to the counter a second time to ask where in the world was my 1/2 sandwich since I had already downed the coffee at this point. They realized the mix up 20 minutes too late, reimbursed me for my meal and gave me my sandwich and another coffee. Yes it was a kind gesture on their part but the service and poor experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Was the food and coffee bad? Far from it, however my reviews are based on the full experience and Cuban Coffee Queen Downtown fell way short. I wouldn't revisit there unless they were my last choice as I have experienced much better experiences for breakfast in Key West at better prices. read more

Worst service I have ever experienced in my life. And not only for me, but for another party as well! The situation went down like this: I was craving a café con leche, and this place came up in my Yelp search. Both locations have stellar reviews, so I thought it would be great to try. The location was pretty nifty; I felt like I was in another era with the casual vibe and cool picnic tables. So I came here, and waited at the counter for 10 minutes before someone even acknowledged my presence. I might as well have been a ghost, because the guy was there, but didn't say anything. There was a family of three sitting down, and they were waiting for their food (keep this in mind for later). Finally, I ordered a café con leche and flan. The guy told me the total $, and I said "I think you forgot the flan." And he said "we don't have any flan." That's fine, but then why is it handwritten on the board? And why would you not tell me right away when I ordered it? I may have ordered something else instead. So I was looking forward to my 16 oz. drink and the fact that no one else had placed an order ahead of mine except for the family. I sat down, and waited for a long time. It's coffee and milk - it should have taken only 5 minutes to make. Instead, I waited another 15 minutes. During that time, the family received their food, but it was incorrect! One dish came with pork when they had apparently asked for it without the meat. I understand people make mistakes, but when a place has literally two orders in the queue, five people working in the kitchen and front, and no delivery orders (the bike was sitting there), I expect there to be no mistakes. ZERO. There is no excuse for such carelessness and rude/disrespectful service. I guess this is the result of having too many cooks in the kitchen. My advice to management - please train your employees better and hold them accountable for the bad incidents that have clearly happened. The menu offerings are simple, and it's the people that make a business successful. This one is a major fail in my book. At the end of it all, the café con leche was fine. I actually enjoyed the overall taste, but the service ruined my experience here. Bottom line: The customer service here is pretty terrible, and if you're looking for a quick and correct meal/drink, don't expect it to happen here. read more

This place was a treat to visit. Despite the heavy rain, we made our way down Duval specifically to this location. The guy behind the counter was courteous and pleasant, and helped us pick out what we wanted. We got two iced coffees and split a "Key Wester". The coffee and food were delicious! And, they had chickens and roosters keeping us company. We ended up returning a few hours later. Will definitely be back! read more

OMG! I love coffee! All kinds of coffee. This has to be the best iced cafe con leche I've ever had! Real coffee, real flavor without any bitter aftertaste. I added vanilla and sugar. And the topper! Coffee ice cubes so it never lost its delicious flavor especially in the the hot weather. Ingenious! Also, had the Caliente Cuban Mix. Full of flavor, and the price was right! Rode by their other location close to the water around 10 and there was a line. On our way back, around 12, there was still a line. Says something about how good this place is! Holy hell this place is great - stumbled onto their location off Duval Street in a stupor after a brutal day of travel down to Key West from Boston. Hungry, thirsty, and dying for a strong cup of coffee - we ordered a couple of sandwiches, some sides, and cafe con leche. Frankly weren't expecting much because the prices seemed almost ridiculously low and the place doesn't exactly give off a fine-dining vibe (picnic tables and plastic ware kind of deal... Not that there's anything wrong with that). Sandwiches were phenomenal - fresh, flavorful, porky, salty goodness. And the coffees were frigging out of this world. All for ~$25! During a food tour we visited the Cuban Coffee Queen as our finale spot for Cuban coffee and Key Lime Pie. For me that meant the dark chocolate covered key lime pie on a stick. The coffee was very good (per my husband as I am not a coffee person). The chocolate dipped key lime pie was To Die For. If I could import this to New Jersey, I would.
