I'm Cuban, I grew up drinking Cuban coffee, and I know what good coffee should taste like. Unfortunately, this just wasn't it for me. My iced coffee was initially so overwhelmingly sweet that all I could taste was syrup. They kindly remade it, but the second one went to the opposite extreme and just tasted bad and unbalanced. What really disappointed me was seeing the coffee being poured from a large jug of premade mixture directly over ice and coffee ice cubes. I was expecting freshly made espresso, especially from a place specializing in Cuban coffee. Maybe this works for people looking for a flavored iced coffee, but if you're used to authentic, freshly prepared Cuban coffee, this may not be what you're expecting. A few of us took a break from walking along Duval to get a couple of beverages, one hot mocha latte and one cold iced coffee. Both were good. The shop is located down a small alley, away from Duval, which makes it a great spot for relaxing. The service was friendly and efficient. Next to the coffee shop is their roasting operation. They have a large roaster on display, and you can buy bags of their most popular beans. There's also plenty of merchandise available if you're looking for something for yourself or a gift. Definitely a place I'd return to, especially to explore more of their coffee and freshly roasted beans. read more

When in South Florida it is a must to try Cuban coffee and food! There are a ton of places to choose from but personally we love a good mom and pop shop. This coffee spot is a must try in our book!! My husband and I went here before catching the ferry to travel to Dry Tortugas. We got there pretty early in the morning so we easily walked up and ordered but shortly after we arrived a line formed. It's just a little walk up window that has an array of items including coffee, smoothies, and Cuban food. They had a great deal which we got which was 1/2 of a Cuban breakfast sandwich and a coffee for I think $10. The sandwhich was delicious and the coffee was fantastic! We even went back to get a bag of coffee beans to go. The area around this little walk up cafe is very cute. It's close to the water. There are public restrooms about 15 feet away which I was shocked with how clean they were. It's the typical key west feel so there are tons of chickens roaming around. Also, there is a fun key west sign right around the shop that is a great photo opt. read more

Found this place from a video of reccomended places to go. Definitely popular. For us it was average. Breakfast sandwich with chorizo. Was chorizo links not ground which wasnt what I was expecting more smoky than i anticipated. Tried the ice coffee with mocha which was good. Husband had the cortidito, probably sounds silly but he said he preferred a starbucks cortado. So just not for us but was very busy so others like it here. read more

This place is good with food and coffee but in my opinion its not true cuban coffee. Service was ok more of a chain restaurant/coffee shop nothing to brag about. I got cuban breakfast burritos and a cortadito, burrito was under seasoned and the coffee had too much milk, ask for it to be changed and they prepared it the same. Looks like they have a specific measurement for the drinks. Overall this place was ok, alot of tourists (me being one lol) but I have drank ALOT of cuban coffee and unfortunately this was not it. Nice place and all and great marketing but I guess I was expecting more. Its nice to sit down and see the chickens eat next to you just not jumping on top of you to eat your breakfast. I was excited to try Cuban coffee. A cafecito is a traditional perfect way to start and end the day for many a Hispanic and I really wanted to try it here in key west so close to Cuba. I was a little concerned once I arrived at the shop, because it does give off a very "Americanized" look. But we ordered two coffee, iced cafe con leche. 2 shots of espresso with milk, one with sugar one without. Not sure if the average Cuban loves a sweet coffee, but the coffee is on the verge of being just a bit too sweet, but it's still a pretty good coffee. The coffee without sugar was pretty good as well, but I do need just the slightest amount of sweetness with my coffee. I could have ordered it more specifically, but for a first time visit I couldn't complain about what I got, I drank it all down. Staff seemed nice in our brief interaction. Ambiance, this is a smaller outdoor cafe with outdoor seating with little chicken friends. Overall a nice little treat to start your day, or end your meal with. A must do when visiting Key West. Terrific magical bean juice with lots of options for different varieties of caffeine concoctions. The menu does a great job with explaining what is in each drink. Everything we ordered was delicious!! They also have breakfast and lunch options. Lots of locations throughout the area. The one in Key Lime Square also has a store that roasts the beans while you watch. When you walk up and see a long line you quickly realize you nailed it. From the direction we were walking, it wasn't obvious where this place was, tucked in among buildings but I loved the location. It's a covered patio with about 8 communal tables. Across the way is where they roast their coffee if you're looking to grab a bag of bean to go. We ordered the Key Wester, a mango smoothie and iced coffees. It seems across the board people were getting the KW and Iced Coffees. We had our with ham and it was delicious - certainly hit the spot with the ice coffee being the perfect complement. The smoothie was also very good. As mentioned by others, the vibe was fun and energetic. I think people were excited to get their days going and / or reminiscing about the previous night. What a hidden gem! Came here for breakfast the other day and both my husband and I were blown away. The service is pretty fast and the space is not super big with several benches and no seats. It is perfect to grab and eat on the go. I had the cuban vanilla coffee and my husband had a cortadito. The coffee was outstanding and strong. The service here on a Tuesday evening was fast, friendly, and helpful. The Cuban sandwiches here are absolutely fantastic. The kids enjoyed their grilled cheese sandwiches. All of their seating is outside but they did have an air conditioner near our table that made the humid July weather mostly bearable. The place was a little bit tricky to find as it is sort of in the middle of the market square. I would recommend walking to it from Southard Street (look for the Key Lime Square sign overhead). Would absolutely recommend coming here and getting a Cuban if you're in Key West. We didn't try the coffee, but if it's anything like their food, you will NOT be disappointed. read more
